Tony Blair claims crisis in Gaza due to 'extremism' and 'corruption'

Imran Mulla | Middle East Eye

"Chris Doyle, director of the Council for the Advancement of Arab-British Understanding (CAABU), said ... Blair "has been a serial failure in Palestine ... He has scant understanding of the issues, a colonial mindset, [and] is addicted to cosying up to power and money, in this case Trump."

-----------------

Tony Blair blamed the crisis in Gaza on "extremism" and "corruption" in his speech on Thursday at the inaugural meeting of Donald Trump's "Board of Peace" in Washington DC.

"For decades," the former British prime minister claimed, "Gaza's governance has been characterised by extremism, corruption, ineffective institutions and the complete absence of a route to prosperity for the Gazan people."

The Palestinian enclave has been under Israeli occupation for decades.

Blair said Gaza has "vast potential" due to its "25 miles of Mediterranean coastline, proximity to great regional and global markets, and a young, dynamic population with a median age of 19".

He hailed the Board of Peace and said it would "rebuild Gaza for Gazans".

"Whether you're a Muslim, Jew, Christian, of any faith or none, you can rise by your own efforts and feel your government by your side, not on your back," Blair said.

"That is the vision behind President Trump's 20-point plan for Gaza, and it remains the best, indeed the only hope for Gaza, the region and the wider world."

Despite Blair's presence, Britain has not joined Trump's board, which has been boycotted by several European countries for inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to join it.

Significantly, Keir Starmer's Labour government has distanced itself from the former prime minister.

In November, when it was rumoured that Blair would be on the board, Jonathan Powell, Starmer's national security advisor and Blair's former chief of staff in Downing Street, said privately that Blair did not represent the British state.

Powell lobbied actively against Blair's nomination, according to two separate informed sources who spoke to Middle East Eye on condition of anonymity.

'A colonial mindset'

Blair's comments at the meeting have drawn criticism, since he did not refer to Israel's role in his account of the situation in Gaza.

Mandelson sent Epstein cringe emails about 'well hung' young men and 'new hotties'

Comment: Mandelson is one of many who were probably abusing boys under the Blair government. Below is the tip of the iceberg. Clearly he has been sacrificed to save the revelations going any further to harm the British Establishment.

----------------

Newly unveiled emails reveal a surprising and suggestive correspondence between Peter Mandelson and Jeffrey Epstein, hinting at a complex relationship.

Peter Mandelson sent a series of sexually suggestive emails to Jeffrey Epstein despite insisting he remained "kept separate" from the paedophile financier's "sexual side," newly released documents reveal.

The correspondence between the pair included brazen references to strippers, "well-hung" young men and "new hotties" in government, with their exchanges saturated in sexual innuendo throughout their relationship.

Epstein sent a lewd quip in April 2009 following a climate change protester's attack on Mandelson that made headlines when green slime was thrown across him.

The financier's private message read: "Goo on your face again."

October 2009 brought a bizarre exchange where Epstein proposed Mandelson marry Princess Anne and pursue the premiership.

Mandelson responded he would "get straight on it," prompting Epstein to reply: "You getting straight is too horrible to imagine ... I was referring to your appendage."

Exchanges during prison sentence

Epstein was serving time in July 2009 for soliciting girls as young as 14 for prostitution when he counselled Mandelson to make "bold moves."

Mandelson shot back: "In what areas..? Policy, social or sexual?"

Two days following Epstein's release from jail, Mandelson inquired how they should mark the occasion.

Epstein wrote: "With grace and modesty, (those are the names of two strippers)."

Later that same day, Mandelson asked how "freedom" felt to his newly released friend.

Epstein replied: "She feels fresh, firm, and creamy."

Election period messages

The run-up to the 2010 General Election during New Labour's final days generated a flurry of suggestive communications, reports the Daily Mail.

Following an emergency Cabinet reshuffle that saw Mandelson appointed Lord President of the Council, Epstein emailed: "Good work."

Mandelson's simple response: "Phew."

Epstein then questioned whether that represented merely a sigh or a reaction to "the number of new hotties" in government.

Epstein subsequently advised Mandelson to demonstrate loyalty toward Gordon Brown to prevent being sidelined.

Mandelson expressed concern Brown would "immediately press the panic button" because the Prime Minister had grown "highly sensitised to [any] movement of my eyebrow."

Epstein responded: "Are you sure the backpressure from your lack of sex is not turning your brain into fois gras?"

Mandelson acknowledged: "It's certainly a serious problem. Cure coming to London from S'hai next weekend."

Election day on May 6, 2010 brought another crude message from Mandelson to Epstein stating: "We are praying for a hung parliament. Alternatively, a well-hung young man."

Gaza Cease-fire Agreement Furthers Ongoing Age of Imperialism

Jeremy Kazmurov | Covert Action Magazine

In October 9, Israel and Hamas announced the adoption of a cease-fire agreement involving the release of all hostages held by Hamas.

Israel, in exchange, agreed to allow for the entry of humanitarian aid, to release Palestinian prisoners, and to withdraw its forces to a so-called “yellow line” from which they will still control all land crossings into Gaza.

The U.S. additionally agreed to send 200 more troops to Israel to monitor and oversee the agreement.

New York Times columnist Thomas L. Friedman gushed that President Donald Trump deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for helping to broker the agreement. However, the World Socialist Web Site reported that the October 9 “peace” deal inscribes a return to the open colonial domination of the Middle East that prevailed in the 19th century.

Gaza is now to be governed by a “Board of Peace” headed and chaired by Donald Trump and which will include former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP) noted that the “peace agreement” was “steeped in colonial rhetoric” and that its “inclusion of an international ‘Board of Peace’…ensures the exclusion of Palestinian voices from the decision-making of Palestinian futures.”

A hidden U.S.-Israeli agenda has long been to control oil and gas fields off the Gaza coast that are estimated to be worth more than $500 billion.

The US-Israel plan for Gaza: a paradise for the ruling class and its business interests

Donde Vamos?

Since 7 October 2023, we have been watching, virtually powerless, as genocide unfolds live before our eyes, simply because our leaders are compromised by the Zionist lobby. Today, both Trump and Israel have a plan for Gaza, and once again we find the good old lobby behind Trump's ‘peace plan,’ rejected on Friday, 3 October by Hamas, which consisted of handing over the keys to Gaza to a delegation of globalists.  But beyond territorial conquest, this plan for Gaza is a globalist, authoritarian utopia, which probably foreshadows what our societies will be like tomorrow if we let this ruling class have its way.

In February 2025, Trump spoke of his Riviera project in Gaza, where nearly 2 million people were crammed together before the Zionists began their process of total destruction. The plan, developed with his Israeli friends and Tony Blair, called for the deportation of the remaining population to create a luxury tourism and high-tech development site, officially under US supervision for 10 years.

Why Tony Blair governing Gaza would result in more war crimes

Irfan Chowdrey | Declassified UK

Soldiers who served under his command in Iraq got away with sexually assaulting prisoners, in scenes similar to Israel’s torture of Palestinians.

Under US president Donald Trump’s new plan for Gaza, former British prime minister Tony Blair has been touted as having a senior role in governing Gaza, acting as a deputy to Trump himself.

Aside from the obvious neo-colonial implications of this – Western Viceroys ruling over occupied Arabs, as opposed to those occupied Arabs being granted self-determination – Blair’s track record of human rights violations makes him deeply unsuitable for the job.

Blair made the decision in 2003 to join with the US in invading and occupying Iraq. Human Rights Watch has noted that “UK nationals committed abuses in Iraq after 2003 on a significant scale”.

Many of these abuses stemmed from policies that were implemented by Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) under Blair’s leadership, wherein abusive interrogation techniques were authorised from above.

Under Blair’s MoD, ‘harshing’ was authorised – this constitutes a technique of psychological abuse wherein an interrogator screams into a detainee’s face, making implicit threats of violence and engaging in personal insults and vitriol.

A breakdown of Tony Blair’s bizarre proposal to run Gaza

Rayhan Uddin| Middle East Eye

Proposed transitional authority will have global billionaires and businesspeople at top and Palestinians at bottom, according to leaked draft.

An unlikely answer has been found for who should lead the process of running Gaza after Israel’s genocidal war: Tony Blair.

It was revealed last week that the former British prime minister - a controversial figure in the Middle East, to say the least - was being considered to lead a transitional authority in the enclave.

Haaretz has now published a leaked draft plan of what Gaza would look like under Blair’s initiative.

The plan reveals a hierarchy in which an international board of billionaires and businesspeople sit at the top, while highly vetted "neutral" Palestinian administrators are at the bottom.

It sets out a three-year plan, budgeted at $90m in the first year, $134m in the second and $164m in the third (these are solely management expenses, and don’t include reconstruction or aid).

The administration would work closely with Israel, Egypt and the US, and, according to Israeli sources cited by Haartez, has the backing of the White House.

Middle East Eye breaks down key highlights from the 21-page leaked document.

UK aware of Israel’s ‘terror’ for over 20 years

Declassified UK | Mark Curtis

The parallels are remarkable.

There were “numerous reports that the Israeli authorities have prevented medical and other humanitarian assistance from reaching those in need”.

The Red Cross was saying “that their staff have been threatened at gunpoint, warning shots have been fired at their vehicles and two ICRC [Red Cross] vehicles have been damaged by tanks”.

There were “media reports of people dying for lack of treatment” and on the “humanitarian impact of curfews affecting over 1 million people”.

There were Israeli soldiers indulging in “theft and looting from homes and shops and the vandalism of people’s homes”.

And “many reports of the killing of unarmed Palestinians”.

Sound familiar?

But this is not Gaza in 2025. It was the occupied West Bank in 2002, described in an internal Foreign Office report revealed in the British archives.

“The Sloppy Dossier”: Plagiarism and “Fake Intelligence” Used to Justify the War on Iraq: Copied and Pasted from the Internet into an “Official” British Intel Report

Glen Rangwala and Prof Michel Chossudovsky
Global Research

Fifteen years ago, the illegal invasion of Iraq. March  21, 2003.

While the Chilcot Inquiry report was released in 2016, it is worth noting that most of the dodgy dossier evidence pertaining to Tony Blair and George W, Bush was available before the onset of the Iraq war in March 2003.

Fake intelligence as well as plagiarized quotations had been slipped into an official intelligence report pertaining to Iraq’s WMD presented to the UN Security Council by Secretary of State Colin Powell on February 5, 2003.

Damning evidence refuting Colin Powell’s official intelligence report was revealed by Cambridge Lecturer Dr. Glen Rangwala (image right) on  Britain’s Channel 4 TV on February 6, 2003, on the day following Secretary of State Colin Powell’s historic Iraq WMD presentation to the UN Security Council:

“I would call my colleagues’ attention to the fine paper that the United Kingdom distributed . . . which describes in exquisite detail Iraqi deception activities.” (Colin Powell, UN Security Council, February 5, 2003)
Powell was referring to “Iraq Its Infrastructure Of Concealment, Deception And Intimidation”, published on January 30, 2003.

According to Rangwala, the  British intelligence document was fake. It had not been prepared by British intelligence. It was copied and pasted from the internet by members of Tony Blair’s staff:

The Downing Street authors state they drew “upon a number of sources, including intelligence material” (p.1, first sentence). In fact, they copied material from at least three different authors and gave no credit to them. Indeed, they plagiarized, directly cutting and pasting or near quoting.
A close textual analysis suggests that the UK authors had little access to first-hand intelligence sources and instead based their work on academic papers, which they selectively distorted. Some of the papers used were considerably out of date. This leads the reader to wonder about the reliability and veracity of the Downing Street document.
It was a fake document prepared on the instructions of prime minister Blair with a view to building a “credible” justification to wage war on Iraq.

Body of tragic Iraq weapons inspector Dr David Kelly mysteriously EXHUMED 14 years after 'sexed up' dossier controversy

The Mirror UK

The body of Iraq weapons inspector Dr David Kelly has been mysteriously exhumed, it emerged last night.

Dr Kelly was found dead in 2003, days after being grilled by a Parliamentary committee about his contact with journalists.

He was buried in a churchyard near his home in Oxfordshire.

But a few months ago, his remains were exhumed at the request of his family, Thames Valley Police said.

According to the Hutton inquiry, Dr Kelly took his own life by overdosing on painkillers and cutting his wrist with a knife.

However, doubts about the suicide verdict have persisted ever since.

Dr Kelly was caught up in the scandal surrounding the Blair government's notorious 'sexed up' dossier which claimed Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction capable of being launched within 45 minutes.

In 2003, the 59-year-old scientist admitted to BBC journalist Andrew Gilligan he had been concerned by those claims in an off-the-record conversation.

Gilligan's reporting of the story led to Dr Kelly being identified - with some claiming Blair's government leaked his name intentionally.

Dr Kelly came under extreme pressure during questioning before a Select Committee.

In July 2003, he was reported missing after telling his wife he was going for a walk.

His body was found in woodland near his home in Oxfordshire the next morning.

Many still believe his death should be investigated with a full inquest.

According to the Sun on Sunday, Dr Kelly's remains may have been moved because of 'unwelcome attention' from campaigners at the gravesite.

Iraq: Will Tony Blair Finally Stand Trial for His Part in the “Supreme International Crime”?

Felicity Arbuthnot

“I think most people who have dealt with me, think I’m a pretty straight sort of guy, and I am.” (Tony Blair, BBC “On the Record”, 16th November 1997.)

On 30th November last year, Michael Gove, currently UK Environment Minister, pretty well unloved by swathes of the population whatever Ministry he heads, declared, at the post Chilcot Inquiry debate in Parliament regarding Tony Blair’s role in dragging the UK in to a monumental tragedy for which history will not forgive:

“History, I think will judge him less harshly than some in this House do.”

Deciding whether or not to illegally invade Iraq was a “finely balanced act”, fantasized Gove.

It was not. It was a pack of lies, many of which came from the Blair regime, as confirmed by Colin Powell’s delusionary address to the UN on 5th February 2003, in subsequently unearthed correspondence and of course, the Chilcot Inquiry.

On 15th September 2004, the then UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, in an interview with the BBC World Service, asked if the invasion was illegal, stated:

“Yes, if you wish.” He continued without caveat: “I have indicated it was not in conformity with the UN Charter. From our point of view and from the Charter point of view it was illegal.”

Blair, his Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw and his Attorney General Lord Goldsmith did not face a Nuremberg type trial – and surreally, Blair, after his 2007 resignation was appointed Middle East Peace Envoy. Straw and Goldsmith went back to business as usual.

UK foreign secretary: US decision on Iraqi army led to rise of Isis

Comment: The only thing they don't mention - yet again - is that this was purposeful and NOT and due to intelligence failures or lack of geopolitical foresight, though basic incompetence and corruption was certainly part of regime change and it always is. The essential point to remember was that this had been planned for years as part of Neo-Conservative doctrine.

---------------------------

The Guardian

The UK has stepped up its criticism of the American conduct of the Iraq war, with the foreign secretary saying the single most disastrous mistake was the mass removal of supporters of the Ba’ath party from the Iraqi army, which he claimed had led directly to the formation of Islamic State.

“Many of the problems we see in Iraq today stem from that disastrous decision to dismantle the Iraqi army and embark on a programme of debaathification,” Philip Hammond, the foreign secretary, told the foreign affairs select committee.

“That was the big mistake of post-conflict planning. If we had gone a different way afterwards we might have been able to see a different outcome.”

He added: “It is clear a significant number of former Ba’athist officers have formed the professional core of Daesh [Isis] in Syria and Iraq and have given that organisation the military capability it has shown in conducting its operations.”

He said the current regime of Haider al-Abadi, the Iraqi prime minister, had “a clear policy to reverse and to end the debaathification programmes and reintegrate Ba’athists into civic life but he is unable to get through the political system because it has become a touchstone of the Sunni-Shia divide in Iraq”.

Ann Clwyd, a Labour MP on the committee and a strong supporter of the Kurds in Iraq, revealed that in 2003 she had personally gone to lobby Paul Bremer, the US head of the Coalition Provisional Authority, the body overseeing the administration of Iraq, about the Iraqi army issue. She said she had complained that senior Iraqi professional soldiers, some with family backgrounds in the UK, were being pushed aside even though some of them were “willing to help in the changed circumstances”.

In Damning Report, Chilcot Inquiry Slams Blair Over Legal Basis For Iraq War

Comment: The Chilcot inquiry still remains a whitewash since it delivers a verdict that it was merely incompetence and a "failure of intelligence". It was no such thing. This was a long term planned project and should be seen as such. By underscoring the "failure of intelligence" nonsense the inquiry reinforces the official narrative.

------------------------------------

Zero Hedge

The Chilcot Inquiry, a British public inquiry into the nation's role in the Iraq war, was published moments ago. The massive report covers almost a decade of UK government policy decisions between 2001 and 2009 and took seven years to complete.  It covers the background to the decision to go to war, whether troops were properly prepared, how the conflict was conducted and what planning there was for its aftermath, a period in which there was intense sectarian violence.

One of the key focus areas of the report is the rationale that Tony Blair gave to the public in taking the UK to war, and whether or not the war was necessary. Upon its release, the report concluded that military action "was not a last resort", and that Britain chose to join the invasion of Iraq in 2003 before peaceful options for disarmament had been exhausted.

The report's main focus is on what commitments then-Prime Minister Tony Blair gave to then-US President George W Bush ahead of the invasion, and whether or not Blair misled the British public over the threat posed by weapons of mass destruction (WMD), which ultimately turned out to be non-existent. Critically, the report determined that the threat posed by WMDs in Iraq was presented with a certainty that was not justified, and the government failed to achieve its stated objectives of the war.

As summarized by BBC, the main points of the report are:

  • The UK chose to join the invasion of Iraq before the peaceful options for disarmament had been exhausted. Military action at that time was not a last resort.
  • The judgements about the severity of threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction - known as WMD - were presented with a certainty that was not justified.
  • Intelligence had "not established beyond doubt" that Saddam Hussein had continued to produce chemical and biological weapons.
  • Policy on Iraq was made on the basis of flawed intelligence assessments. It was not challenged, and should have been.
  • The circumstances in which it was decided that there was a legal basis for UK military action were "far from satisfactory".
  • There was "little time" to properly prepare three military brigades for deployment in Iraq. The risks were neither "properly identified nor fully exposed" to ministers, resulting in "equipment shortfalls".
  • Despite explicit warnings, the consequences of the invasion were underestimated. The planning and preparations for Iraq after Saddam Hussein were "wholly inadequate".
  • The Government failed to achieve the stated objectives it had set itself in Iraq. More than 200 British citizens died as a result of the conflict. Iraqi people suffered greatly. By July 2009, at least 150,000
  • Iraqis had died, probably many more. More than 1m were displaced.
  • The report sets out lessons to be learned: It found former prime minister Tony Blair overestimated his ability to influence US decisions on Iraq; and the UK's relationship with the US does not require unconditional support.
  • It said ministerial discussion which encourages frank and informed debate and challenge is important. As is ensuring civilian and military arms of government are properly equipped.
  • In future, all aspects of any intervention need to be calculated, debated and challenged with rigour. Decisions need to be fully implemented.

Unindicted War Criminal Tony Blair Calls Brexit a Coup

Stephen Lendman
The Peoples Voice

Britain’s most reviled and discredited leader when leaving office in June 2007 allied with Bill Clinton’s rape of Yugoslavia, George Bush’s naked aggression on Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as Israel’s war on Palestine.

Greed now drives him. So does selling influence, becoming super-rich over the last decade, using secretive offshore companies and trusts, remaining unaccountable for involvement in genocidal high crimes – from Belgrade to Kabul to Baghdad to Palestine.

Responsible editors wouldn’t touch his rubbish. The New York Times featured it, Blair taking full advantage, mocking a democratic process, calling Brexit a “stunning coup.”

His deplorable record as prime minister featured loyal service to bankers and war profiteers, public welfare be damned. On leaving office, he failed trying to reinvent himself.

Impossible to ignore his sordid record. He’s a warmaker, not a peacemaker, a criminal like the Clintons, Bush and Obama.

He supported Gaza’s siege and Israeli wars of aggression. His appointment as Middle East peace envoy showed occupation harshness would continue, Palestinian statehood prevented.

He called Brexit supporters insurgents, “standard-bearers of a popular revolt… encourage(d) (and) magnified by… social media…”

EU membership comes with a huge price – loss of sovereignty to Brussels, most of all to Washington, doing its bidding, backing its war agenda, enriching its privileged class at the expense of most others, and tolerating no resistance.

Blair is part of the problem. Supporting wrong over right enriched him.

The London Independent once said years of investigation showed he “prostituted himself in pursuing Mammon.” Political friends and foes alike revile him.

Coup against Corbyn: Tony Blair's elites try to snatch Labour Party back from the working class

Nafeez Ahmed
The Canary

Steve Topple and Elizabeth Mizon contributed to research for this story.

The latest coup attempt against Jeremy Corbyn within the Labour Party is being led by an elitist Blairite network who have always seen his sudden rise to leadership as a threat to their waning control of the party.

An investigation by The Canary reveals that the organisers of the campaign are part of a pro-Blair 'old guard.'

In the run-up to the Labour leadership elections in September 2015, they had tried to re-model the party along the lines of a pro-war, pro-corporate vision linked to the US Democrat Party's neoconservative wing.

But Jeremy Corbyn's victory completely scuppered their plans.

15 shadow secretaries of state and nine shadow ministers who have resigned from Corbyn's opposition cabinet all have affiliations to, or are involved with, the Fabian Society - the London think-tank affiliated with the Labour Party.

The Fabian Society was a major force in establishing the intellectual basis of New Labour under Blair's premiership and has remained closely aligned to Blair's supporters in the party. It was also the main force attempting to re-impose a Blairite vision on the party before Corbyn's surprise leadership victory.

‘Unforgivable’: Majority of Brits can’t absolve Tony Blair of his Iraq war sins

Comment: Tony Blair deserves everything that's hopefully coming to him. He's built his Bliar Empire quite literally from the blood of thousands of maimed and murdered families. His crimes are as huge as his repellent delusions of grandeur and commensurate denials of culpability. Be afraid Tony. The elite will throw you to the dogs as quick as you can say WMD. And that time may well be coming soon.

-------------------------------
RT
Former Prime Minister Tony Blair can never be forgiven for taking the UK into the Iraq war, a majority of Brits said in an opinion poll.

Pollster YouGov carried out the survey ahead of the publication of the long-delayed Chilcot Inquiry report, which examines the legality of Britain’s 2003 Iraq invasion.

It found only eight percent believe Blair did nothing wrong, while 53 percent said they could never forgive him.

Some 15 percent of respondents said it was time to forgive Blair for his misjudgment.
Perhaps the most damning finding was that just 25 percent of Labour Party supporters are in favor of forgiving their former leader.

Is the UK’s Iraq Inquiry Set to “savage” Tony Blair?

Felicity Arbuthnot
Dissident Voice

Part 1 of a 2 Part Series

In spite of all the scepticism regarding the long delayed UK Iraq Inquiry into the illegal invasion of Iraq, with predictions (including by myself) that it would be a “whitewash” of the enormity of the lies which led to the near destruction of Iraq, to the presence of ISIS and to probably over a million deaths, The Sunday Times (May 22nd, 2016) is predicting an “absolutely brutal” verdict on those involved. The paper claims that former Prime Minister Tony Blair, his then Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, Sir Richard Dearlove, former Head of British Secret Intelligence (MI6) are among those who face “serious damage to their reputations.”

Not before time, many will surely be thinking.

The Inquiry, which sat from November 24th, 2009 until February 2nd, 2011, is finally to be published on July 6th, approaching five and a half years since its conclusion. Speculation is that publication of the findings are being further delayed until after the June 23rd British referendum on whether to remain in the European Union. Tony Blair is campaigning on his pal Prime Minister David Cameron’s “remain in” ticket. Confirmation of his murderous misleadings before the referendum would further discredit all he had to say and seriously damage, if not detonate, the “in” campaign.

Camouflage of British War Crimes in Iraq: Chilcot Inquiry Publication Delayed: “ to Avoid Embarrassing Tony Blair.”

Felicity Arbuthnot
Global Research

“Nothing justifies killing of innocent people.” (Tony Blair, CNN, 15th January 2015.)

The publication of the Chilcot Inquiry which began in 2009 and concluded three years ago, investigating the illegal 2003 invasion of Iraq, so far costing a reported £10,375,000, is to be delayed until after the 23rd June UK European Union referendum on whether Britain stays in or leaves the EU.

According to the Daily Telegraph (1) Prime Minister David Cameron is “delaying (the) Chilcot Report to avoid embarrassing Tony Blair”, whose government’s “dodgy dossiers”, produced when he was Prime Minister, were such an integral part of America’s excuse to invade, overthrow and murder many of a sovereign government – with the UK tagging along as the fig leaf “coalition.”

One dossier of special significance was that of 24th September 2002, published on the day Parliament was recalled to discuss its fictional “findings.” Fairy stories contained within included a government “investigation” in to weapons of mass destruction stating that Iraq possessed WMDs including chemical and biological weapons and that they had again developed a nuclear weapons programme. As was quickly established after the invasion, the all was entirely untrue..

Also included was the claim that Iraq had sought to acquire “significant quantities of uranium from Africa” (2) another claim also found to be complete nonsense.

In fact, had Iraq determined to have a nuclear programme it had no need to purchase uranium from anywhere, it has extensive deposits – which were discovered by the British in the 1950s, documentation of which must be somewhere in government records.

The forward to this piece of fiction was written by Blair and reads:
“The document discloses that his (Saddam Hussein’s) military planning allows for some of the WMD to be ready within 45 minutes of an order to use them.”

Tony Bliar "Apologies" for Iraq War

Comment: Suuure Tony. This pathological narcissist is just trying to cover himself prior to the conclusions from the Chilcott Report. Tony knows the heat is increasing, not least due to George Galloway's crowd-funded documentary The Killings of Tony Blair years due out sometime next year.

----------------------------------

The Independent

Tony Blair has made apologies about aspects of the Iraq War for the first time and has said there are ‘elements of truth’ in the theory that the invasion helped feed the rise of Isis.

In a TV interview with CNN, the former Prime Minister said he was sorry that the intelligence behind the decision to attack Saddam Hussein’s regime in 2003 was wrong, and admitted there had been mistakes in the planning of the operation.

He had been asked how he felt about the failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq as he took questions from American political broadcaster Fareed Zakaria in an interview due to be broadcast by CNN Europe on Sunday.

It is as part of a longer documentary, Long Road To Hell: America In Iraq, set to be screened on Tuesday. With the cameras rolling, Mr Zakaria asked Mr Blair: “Given that Saddam had no WMDs, was the war a mistake?”

He replied: “I apologise for the fact that the intelligence we received was wrong. I also apologise, by the way, for some of the mistakes in planning, and certainly, our mistake in our understanding of what would happen once you removed the regime. But I find it hard to apologise for removing Saddam.”
