Prominent Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre was brutally bloodied, beaten and raped by a “well-known prime minister” in a series of savage encounters that finally helped the teenager break free from the sex trafficker’s spell.

In her posthumous memoir “Nobody’s Girl: A Memoir of Surviving Abuse and Fighting for Justice,” Giuffre recalled begging Epstein to step in after the unnamed politician forced her to beg for her life — but the pedophile coldly told her it was simply part of her job.

“After the attack, I couldn’t stay a fool. Having been treated so brutally and then seeing Epstein’s callous reaction to how terrorized I felt, I had to accept that Epstein meted out praise merely as a manipulation to keep me subservient,” Giuffre wrote, according to an excerpt shared with The Post.

“Epstein cared only about Epstein.”

Giuffre simply referred to the deranged man as the “Prime Minister,” saying she was afraid the brute would “seek to hurt” her if she printed his name.

In the past, however, she pointed to Israel’s Prime Minister Ehud Barak in court filings as one of the many elites who had raped her, a claim he has repeatedly denied.

Thirty-two-year-old Albert Garza is a registered sex offender who was convicted of assaulting an eight-year-old boy in 2008, yet that has not hindered him from dressing in garish women’s clothing, calling himself “Tatiana Mala Nina,” and performing in front of kids.   

When the story broke, one news site suggested an alternative name for “Drag Queen Storytime,” with a headline that blared, “Pederast Story Hour in Houston.”

When the Freed-Montrose Public Library failed to respond to inquiries by Houston MassResistance, the activist group – which had been protesting the program – conducted its own investigation into the background of the drag queens as well as the way in which “Drag Queen Storytime” is conducted. They ended up compiling a detailed 163-page report, replete with disturbing photos, documenting “the lurid activities of some of these ‘Drag Queens’ who read to children, and how the library blatantly disregarded its own rules.”

Salacious details of pedophilia and sexual slavery were heard on Tuesday in a Brooklyn courtroom as the trial of NXIVM's former leader, Keith Raniere, got underway.

Mr. Raniere, 58, has been indicted on charges of racketeering conspiracy, identity theft, extortion, forced labor, money laundering, wire fraud and sex trafficking.

In recent weeks, five women who were charged as Mr. Raniere's co-defendants have pleaded guilty to various federal charges, leaving Mr. Raniere to stand trial alone. -New York Times

One woman, a 32-year-old identified only as "Sylvie," said that she had been involved in the group for around 13 years for their self-help seminars - only to be later invited to join a secretive sorority within the organization known as "Dominus Obsequious Sororium" (DOS) - Latin for "master over the slave women."

Sylvie said that in order to join DOS she had to provide "collateral" to her sponsor, Monica Duran, in the form of photographs and a stamped letter to her parents telling them that she was a prostitute, according to the New York Times.

"Now I was Monica's slave and she was my master and the collateral was in place to keep that going," said Sylvie, adding that she was given "assignments" that she was to fulfill without question.

Another recruit-turned-coach was India Oxenberg - daughter of Dynasty actress Catherine Oxenberg, who met with prosecutors in New York in late 2017 to present evidence against Raniere.

"This was organized crime. Keith Raniere was an organized crime boss," prosecutor Tanja Hajjar told the jury of eight men and four women during Tuesday's opening statements - adding that Raniere, 58, brought a 15-year-old girl from Mexico, Camilla, to New York along with her two sisters in 2015. Camilla was Raniere's first "sex slave" according to Hajjar. Raniere "wasn't interested in mentoring" the girls, said Hajjar. "Instead, he had sex with all three daughters."

Most recently, Raniere was accused of having sex with children and producing kiddie porn, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

Raniere, 58, is accused of having a child "engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing one or more visual depictions of such conduct, which visual depictions were produced and transmitted." -New York Post

On Wednesday, Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta appeared before a budget appropriations subcommittee to testify about the effectiveness of the Labor Department’s 2020 budget which calls for a 10 percent cut in programs affecting millions of workers. When it came time for Acosta to testify whether or not he could safeguard children from illegal labor practices and combat human trafficking, multiple lawmakers grilled him over the sweetheart deal he gave convicted billionaire pedophile Jeffery Epstein who is also suspected of running a massive child sex trafficking ring.

During the testimony, Acosta defended his cuts to multiple programs, noting that the new budget provides “greater investment in programs that work, eliminates programs that do not, and generally bolsters opportunities for working Americans through common-sense reforms.’’

However, some of these cuts are to programs designed to stop child trafficking which makes very little “common sense” given the administration’s ostensible view on the matter. When the cuts to these programs designed to prevent human trafficking were brought up, lawmakers were given the green light to bring up the Epstein conspiracy.

“This is not the first time you have ignored human trafficking,’’ said Massachusetts representative Katherine Clark.

As TFTP has reported on multiple occasions, Epstein is a convicted child molester and sexually abused no less than 40 underage girls. Despite this fact, Acosta protected him while serving as a U.S. Attorney in Florida. Had Acosta actually prosecuted Epstein for his crimes, Epstein would have gone to prison for life.

However, instead of going to prison for life, as he should’ve considering the evidence against him, Epstein only got 13 months and was allowed to stay in the Palm Beach County Jail in his own private cell where he was allowed to leave the prison six days a week for “work release.”

In February, a federal judge made a bombshell ruling which stated that the prosecutors who worked under then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta—now Trump’s Labor Secretary—broke the law when handling the case of the billionaire pedophile.

YouTube contains thousands of videos sexualizing children. The comments on these videos reveal who these videos are actually made for. This is happening as YouTube has been actively censoring “truther” videos.

Something bizarre and incomprehensible is happening on YouTube. On one hand, the video platform has been hard at work demonetizing and un-recommending videos that could “misinform users” (i.e. conspiracy theories). On the other hand, YouTube is never stopped enabling the proliferation of thousands of deeply disturbing videos sexualizing children.

Indeed, on one hand, YouTube is using advanced “machine learning”, combined with an army of human moderators, to censor videos that basically consist of adults discussing topics that may or may not be 100% factual. On the other hand, YouTube is profiting from videos that clearly and unmistakably exploit children for the viewing pleasure of pedophiles. Maybe I’m crazy, but one of those things is way worse than the other.

Serial Pedophile Cop Arrested on 80 Counts of Sexual Abuse of Children

Cascade County, MT — Sexual misconduct among police officers is an unfortunately common crime. Multiple studies have shown that hundreds of cops a year are arrested or accused of sexual misconduct. In fact, the second largest complaint against officers — second only to excessive force — is that of sexual abuse. More startling is the fact that over half of the sexual abuse instances involve children. One particularly horrific example of this abuse is made by former Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy Virgil Wolfe who was arrested this month on dozens of charges of child sex abuse.

The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office posted Wolfe’s mugshot on their Facebook page last week, noting that Wolfe had been charged with one count of incest and 80 counts of Sexual Abuse of Children. The sheriff’s office noted that the arrest involved its own deputies along with several agents from the Department of Homeland Security.

The APA/DSM pedophilia controversy: Orientation or disorder?

How does the American Psychiatric Association (APA) view pedophilia? A recent controversy leaves many people wondering about this question. Charisma Magazine, a publication geared toward evangelical Christians, was dismayed to discover that the APA had described pedophilia as a "sexual orientation" rather than a "sexual interest." The description seems to validate pedophilia, which is a sexual attraction to children, as a viable life choice.

Christian and conservative citizens quickly responded to the report, petitioning Congress and Attorney General Eric Holder to appeal to the APA to change their definition. Immediately after, the concerned groups noticed that the APA had written a news release to correct their error. The APA said that the discussion section of the newest version of the DSM-5 (a manual of psychiatric disorders that is widely used by mental health professionals) contained an error.

The APA said that the discussion about diagnostic criterion for pedophilic disorder contained an error; it should have read, "sexual interest," instead of "sexual orientation."

In the news release, the APA affirmed that they strongly support effort to criminally prosecute those who sexually abuse and exploit children and adolescents. They also support ongoing efforts to develop treatment for individuals who have been diagnosed with pedophilic disorder, with the goal of preventing future abusive acts.

Correcting the DSM

What's behind this issue? The DSM, or Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, was first developed in 1952. It has been periodically revised since then, but for nearly two decades, it remained untouched, despite the wealth of new information that researchers had discovered in that time. In 2013, the updated version, called the DSM-5, was finally revealed.

The DSM-5's chair and vice-chair, David Kupfer and Darrel Regier, published a disclaimer on the tome's website. They noted that they worked on revising the criteria for the diagnosis and classification of mental disorders for more than a decade, but the work is still not complete. Kupfer and Regier called on the public to play an active role in the next phase of refining the material, including correcting any errors. This disclaimer seems to indicate that the "sexual orientation" vs. "sexual interest" statement was truly a mistake.

A Political Issue?

Conservative groups doubt that the designation of pedophilia as a sexual orientation was far from an honest mistake. Instead, they believe that the APA bowed to the demands of radical groups that maintain that feeling attracted to children is different than acting on one's attraction to children. Some compare the APA's attitude toward pedophilia to its attitude toward homosexuality; in much earlier editions of the DSM, homosexuality was considered a disorder, but its definition has been changed over the years.

Comment: It seems none of the parties involved can think. 1) There IS a difference between a feeling and action - that's why we don't have thought crime. 2) Accepting this does not imply condoning pedophilia, as a "sexual interest" or as a practice, i.e. criminal behavior.

Elijah Wood has been in the entertainment business most of his life. Starting out doing local modeling and commercial work in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he quickly moved out to Los Angeles with his family as an eight-year-old in the mid-1980s, where he got work on the Paula Abdul music video "Forever Your Girl" and gained acclaim in the 1990s movie "Avalon."

Though it seems like a glamorous away to be brought up, Wood, 35, is revealing for the first time that Hollywood is dealing with a child sexual abuse epidemic. In a revealing piece on the "Lord of the Rings" star for The Sunday Times, Wood is quoted saying child actors are regularly "preyed upon" by "vipers" in Hollywood.

Wood told the Times he "never went to parties where that kind of thing was going on," because his mother, Debra, protected him from interacting with people who could take advantage of him. But he did note, "I've been led down dark paths to realize that these things are probably still happening."

Wood is not the first former child star over the years to make this claim. In 2011, Corey Feldman told ABC's "Nightline" that he has been a victim of sexual abuse by men in Hollywood.

"I can tell you that the No. 1 problem in Hollywood was and is and always will be pedophilia," he said. "That's the biggest problem for children in this industry... It's the big secret."

Last year, the documentary "An Open Secret" delved into accusations of a pedophile ring in Hollywood. It put a spotlight on accusations by adults who said they were abused by men in the film industry when they were child actors. A large portion of the movie explores the convicted sex offenders who owned and operated the late 1990s multimedia company Digital Entertainment Network.

Though it was directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Amy Berg, the film had an almost nonexistent theatrical release.

Wood, who has seen "An Open Secret," said in the Times story that the film "only scratches the surface. I feel there was much more to this story than it articulates."

"People with parasitic interests will see you as their prey," Wood said of child actors who know little about the business and want to find a way to succeed. "What upsets me about these situations is that the victims can't speak as loudly as the people in power."

Music can have profound and unique effects on our well-being, it can help us cope with the stresses that life brings and can make us feel happier in ourselves, and it can also make our brains happier! But there's a darker side to music.

In our technologically 'advanced' society, different types of music are more accessible than ever before. In this day and age, with the multiplicity of specialized MP3 players, mobile phones and other assorted gadgets, an entire album can be downloaded within a matter of seconds... with little or no content restrictions in place.

So how much music do kids actually listen to these days? An English study published by North et al in 2000 showed that a sample of 2,456 adolescents listened to an average of 2.45 hours of music per day. It has also been reported that children aged eight to ten listen to an average of 1 hour per day. A more recent study (Roberts et al) in 2005 showed that a staggering 85% of children aged eight to eighteen years old listened to music on any given day. 

The effect of music and video on a developing human psyche

According to psychologists Ashby and Rich (2005) in their paper, Video killed the radio star:

"Music induces strong emotions that can make individuals more susceptible to changes in attitude or behavior. Multiple studies demonstrated the influence of visual media on risky attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors among adolescents. Combined in a music video, music and visuals may enhance, redirect, or contrast with the effects of the lyrics and introduce new aspects to the media experience that were not understood or considered previously by the viewer.

"The combination of music and video may be synergistic in their effect on adolescent attitudes and behavior. Once music establishes a mood, the lyrics and images that are portrayed may have more impact than either form alone. Music can alter an individual's receptivity to visual presentation. A study from the early years of music television found that the enhancement of rock music with a visual component increased appreciation of the music. Conversely, research shows that after watching music videos, the visual images persist with the viewer even when that individual is listening to an audio only version of a song; most music video viewers ''always'' or ''frequently'' thought of content from the music video when listening to the corresponding music. Rubin et al demonstrated that college students assessed music videos more positively and believed that they were more ''potent'' than music alone "

So, the presence of both audio and visual stimulation can cause the visual image portrayed in a music video to "persist with the viewer"? They further state:

"Music videos socialize young people by communicating ideas about expected behavior, relationships, and male and female roles. Although music videos are diverse and individual music videos portray a variety of gender roles and responsibilities, content analysis of music videos demonstrates that those who use music videos as a source of social learning generally receive specific information about the roles, responsibilities, and behavior of their gender in society."

OK! So we are now aware that children and adolescents listen to a lot of music, and we also can see that music can induce strong emotions and can "communicate ideas about expected behaviors, relationships and male and female roles" playing a definite role in a child's identity formation, while visual images can "persist with the viewer even when that individual is listening to an audio only version of a song". So what type of music do kids today listen to?

The editor’s resistance was futile; the following morning, police officers from the counter-terror and intelligence unit known as Special Branch burst into the newspaper office, seized the material and threatened to have Hale arrested if he ever reported what had been found.

We have picked up news about the sexual allegations against Alan Dershowitz because Dershowitz is such an outspoken defender of Israel and the matter has inevitably affected his influence in the foreign-policy arena. And Dershowitz will surely always get a forum, this piece on the case in the Harvard Law Record that came out yesterday, titled "Harvard Law Professor Blames Victim in Child Trafficking Case," is another sign that the Harvard Law professor emeritus is being criticized in venues that he might once have considered home turf.

Dershowitz denies abusing the child trafficking victim; yet instead of acknowledging the gravity of the crime and showing compassion - even while denying involvement - Dershowitz's response has been shockingly vicious and sexist. In a recent interview, Dershowitz said his accuser was "a prostitute," and questioned her fitness as a mother. He went on to admit he had no qualms about calling a 15-year-old girl a prostitute, claiming "[s]he was not victimized ... she made her own decisions in life." Those are decisions that the law says no 15-year-old is old enough to make. One day after that interview, 38 Harvard Law School professors joined the many well-connected people who have tried to protect Dershowitz and [convicted sex offender Jeffrey] Epstein, releasing an open letter lauding Dershowitz's "courage."
Where is the focus on the plaintiff's courage? On her horrifying experience, and on the experiences of the millions of other minors bought and sold for sex each year? When rape victims do come forward, where is the focus on ensuring we don't re-victimize them in the media?

Brutalized by Epstein, betrayed by federal prosecutors who refused to pursue justice, Jane Doe #3 was then publicly shamed by Dershowitz. Shaming rape and human trafficking victims compounds injustice, violating those who report and discouraging others from doing so.

Police are investigating missing files put together by UK campaigners which allege a powerful network at the heart of Westminister in the 1970s and 80s.

The Sunday People can reveal that agents from the Russian KGB and the American CIA were also said to have compiled their own intelligence in search of “dirt” on key individuals at the height of the Cold War.

One source close to the KGB said: “These were troubled times and my task was to identify people who could perhaps help us with information.

“We knew of some MPs who loved rent boys, and others who were active paedophiles.

“We were also aware of some unusual activities at Westminster and the work of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE).

"Several regular names emerged and we wanted to make contact and use this to our advantage.

“In those days, MPs were protected by Special Branch and anyone with a chequered history, or an unhealthy appetite for young children, was soon flagged up by them.

“They had a difficult job but were fully aware that we knew what they knew, and they tried hard to suppress any possible leaks.”

Former Home Secretary Leon Brittan, who died last week, was named in the historical sexual abuse scandal after claims he was handed a dossier containing details of the abuse allegations in the 1980s.

A paedophile who worked as a child protection and care worker expert advised the Home Office on children’s homes, it has been revealed. 

Peter Righton, who died in 2007, advised the government on reforms to the care home system in 1970, for a report that detailed how new homes should be controlled by local government. 

Righton, who was one of the founding members of the Paedophile Information Exchange (PIE) lobby group, had also been a consultant for charity the National Children's Bureau as well as a Governor at the New Barns School, Gloucester. 

He had previously left a teaching job elsewhere following child abuse complaints, the BBC reports, and was also later convicted, in 1992, for possession of child abuse images, being fined £900.

According to an insider, Righton gave “considerable assistance” to the governmental report, which credited him as an academic who helped to carve out plans for the training of care home workers.

As part of his research, he would travel to numerous residential centres across the UK, the former care worker told the BBC.

“He [would] go and interview, in approved schools, individual boys and he certainly went to speak to the heads of homes,” the retired source said.

“He was a very dangerous man because he was put in a position where he could abuse trust.”

Righton had allegedly admitted taking “boys out” as well as having used “sexual” language with them, not the kind “that you would have in a healthy conversation with a child”. 

An independent inquiry has been set-up by Home Secretary Theresa May to investigate allegations of child abuse within the British establishment, including the police, courts, NHS and government.

The measure was announced in July following a campaign by some MPs and the independent panel will report on its interim findings before the general election in May.

Righton previously wrote academic essays justifying sexual relationships with children and also visited Bryn Estyn home in north Wales, which had been the location of extensive abuse in the Seventies and Eighties.

It’s doubtful that the public will ever know the true extent of this plague which remains obscured by complicit members of the political elite, the police, the security services and most importantly – the judiciary – as well as the mainstream press – as key men and women play their roles in covering for those known to be involved in this wretched and highly organised practice that ruins so many young lives, and is used to blackmail and control so many in the seats of power and influence.

Coincidentally, Brittan was a key player in solidifying the UK’s entrance into the European Union, and a conduit for the British government’s steadfast support of Israel. Interestingly, the current Deputy Prime Minister, Nick Clegg, is also a protégé of Brittan’s, and some feel that Clegg’s hardened pro-EU views are credited to the intimate time he spent as a young political upstart under Leon Brittan’s wing.

Not surprisingly, it seems that certain references to Leon Brittan appear to have been scrubbed from Google.

Recently, The Independent revealed just how deep the cover-up effort truly is, detailing inquiries by Labour MP Simon Danczuk:

“Mr Danczuk said the late Tory MP Geoffrey Dickens had written to Lord Brittan, Home Secretary from 1983 to 1985, about paedophiles “operating and networking within and around Westminster”.
“I do think it would be helpful for Sir Leon Brittan to share his knowledge of how he dealt with these allegations that were made at the time,” said Mr Danczuk.
“I think that politics is the last refuge of child sex abuse deniers. Other institutions, the police, have dealt with this and changed their culture.”
But politics suffered from “a continual view that we should sweep it under the carpet, that we shouldn’t speak about it, that we shouldn’t name people, that there shouldn’t be a discussion about what’s gone on”.In the end, it boils down to confidence in elites’ ability to govern – free of compromising entanglements that, unlike the pumped-up ‘Islamic terror threat’, ultimately determine real state of ‘national security’.

Truth and reconciliation can only happen if the full extent of the problem is known, but unfortunately, no one is holding their breath…

Government will drip feed VIP paedophile revelations over decades to avoid mass civil unrest

The British government plans to strictly control the release of ‘establishment’ paedophile revelations over a period of decades in order to avoid mass civil unrest, according to a Westminster source.

It is further claimed that many cases will never be disclosed due to the severity of the offences that took place, and also the high profile status of those involved. 

Even politicians such as Simon Danczuk and Tom Watson, who have pushed for transparency, are all too aware of the dangers that mass disclosure may bring.

A ‘total disclosure event’ would see citizens of the United Kingdom take to the streets in their hundreds of thousands, if not millions, as the extent of the crimes are revealed. The offences include the rape, torture and murder of children.

When the public accept that throughout the 70′s, 80′s, and into the 90′s, elected officials and other dignitaries in shocking numbers used their position and status to have sex with vulnerable children, a ‘critical mass mentality’ will have been achieved, and the state will not have the resources or the moral high ground available to quell the disquiet.

There is no sector of the ‘establishment’ that remains distant from the culture of paedophilia in and around the power bases of London. The royal family, government, security services, the police and the judiciary have all played their part in covering up a sickness that has plagued the country for decades. 

​ The abuse of children by establishment paedophiles continues to this day, albeit on a lesser scale. The unaccountability of decades ago has been diluted by the information age.

Yet, powerful players in the corridors of power still have a vested interest in not only covering up the evil deeds of the past, but also indulging those who still engage in these heinous crimes.

Margaret Thatcher 'Told Of Sir Peter Morrison Paedophile Claims'

Margaret Thatcher was told about alleged sex parties with under-age boys held by one of her closest aides claims her former personal bodyguard. 

Barry Strevens, who worked as the prime minister’s personal bodyguard, said that he passed on allegations about her confidant Sir Peter Morrison.

The former senior police officer said that Lady Thatcher appointed Sir Peter deputy party chairman of the Conservatives despite learning of the rumours.

The Old Etonian, who died of a heart attack in 1995 at the age of 51, has since been linked to claims of sex abuse at children’s homes in North Wales.

Strevens, an ex-detective chief inspector, told the Sun on Sunday: “I wouldn’t say she (Lady Thatcher) was naive but I would say she would not have thought people around her would be like that.

“I am sure he would have given her assurances about the rumours as otherwise she wouldn’t have given him the job.”

The former bodyguard said that he first found out about the claims from a senior Cheshire Police officer.

At the time, Sir Peter was being considered as the replacement for deputy party chairman after Jeffrey Archer had stood down over prostitution claims in 1986.

Police arrest 660 suspected paedophiles in biggest ever child sex investigation

Comment: The only problem with these high profile operations is that the methods used are far from clear-cut. Who cares? Well, if you're innocent then it should be of concern. Entrapment methods are highly dubious. Police have arrested 660 suspected paedophiles including doctors, teachers and former police officers in one of the largest operations of its kind. 

The six-month operation targeted people accessing indecent images of children online.

The suspects included a doctor and another man, and examination of their computers uncovered more than one million indecent images.

Police said that 431 children were traced and made safe as part of the operation coordinated by the National Crime Agency.

One suspect admitted viewing indecent images for 30 years and travelled regularly to South-east Asia for sexual purposes. Another was a foster carer who had been looking after for a vulnerable child at the time.

Thirty-nine of those arrested were registered sex offenders.

NCA deputy director Phil Gormley said: “This is the first time the UK has has the capability to coordinate a single targeted operation if this kind.

"Over the past six months we have seen unprecedented levels of cooperation to deliver this result."

Pedophilia 'natural and normal'? Pedo-programming almost complete

"Paedophilic interest is natural and normal for human males," said the presentation. "At least a sizeable minority of normal males would like to have sex with children ... Normal males are aroused by children."

Some yellowing tract from the Seventies or early Eighties, era of abusive celebrities and the infamous PIE, the Paedophile Information Exchange? No. Anonymous commenters on some underground website? No again.

The statement that paedophilia is "natural and normal" was made not three decades ago but last July. It was made not in private but as one of the central claims of an academic presentation delivered, at the invitation of the organisers, to many of the key experts in the field at a conference held by the University of Cambridge.

Other presentations included "Liberating the paedophile: a discursive analysis," and "Danger and difference: the stakes of hebephilia."

Hebephilia is the sexual preference for children in early puberty, typically 11 to 14-year-olds.

Another attendee, and enthusiastic participant from the floor, was one Tom O'Carroll, a multiple child sex offender, long-time campaigner for the legalisation of sex with children and former head of the Paedophile Information Exchange. "Wonderful!" he wrote on his blog afterwards. "It was a rare few days when I could feel relatively popular!"

Last week, after the conviction of Rolf Harris, the report into Jimmy Savile and claims of an establishment cover-up to protect a sex-offending minister in Margaret Thatcher's Cabinet, Britain went into a convulsion of anxiety about child abuse in the Eighties. But unnoticed amid the furore is a much more current threat: attempts, right now, in parts of the academic establishment to push the boundaries on the acceptability of child sex.

A key factor in what happened all those decades ago in the dressing rooms of the BBC, the wards of the NHS and, allegedly, the corridors of power was not just institutional failings or establishment "conspiracies", but a climate of far greater intellectual tolerance of practices that horrify today.
