Psychopaths in power: The Parasite on the Human Super-organism

Comment: excellent article by Mr. Bradley. He lays out the problems exactly as they are. This is why any "-ism" which has kernel of truth to it - including anarchism - is only ever going to work for no more than a second because authoritarian followers will ensure that such a new tide will have the seeds of psychopathy within it. This is why we must all IGNORE the Powers that Be rather than actively engage and give them the revolutionary energy they seek.

I was reading another devastating commentary by American author Chris Hedges on the overbearing tyranny of the State, and it got me to thinking about this popular notion of "rising up against" oppressors. Hedges' analysis is on target, but I feel that his conclusion that we must "tear it down" in order to escape it is lacking something important.

To 'rise up against our oppressors', to 'take back the country', and to 'overthrow the ruling class' assumes that they are 'up there' to begin with. Yes, in many ways they are. Through their domination of industry, government, media, education and so on, they invariably influence - control even - just about everything material in our world; they possess most of the wealth, work in high-rise buildings, live in elevated suburbs and generally look down from their rarefied vantage point on the masses slumming it out below.

But when it comes to the important things - moral character, worldly experience, creative abilities, and basic intelligence - what do they really possess? Few, if any of these things. In fact, I think we can make the case that, psychologically-speaking, they are actually pretty far 'down there' on the scale of haves and have-nots.

Ok, so they certainly set no moral example to follow. Well, what then do we need the State for? Standard political theory teaches that the State is the final arbiter of contracts between people, without which there would be lawless chaos. Left unto themselves, claimed schizoids like Thomas Hobbes, life for humans would be "solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short." I'm not so sure. In fact, I'm beginning to think it's the other way around: life is brutish for most because of the State.

Although based on research that is some 80 years old, Political Ponerology by Andrew Lobaczewski is the classic text for understanding how psychopaths and other assorted character-disturbed people infect society from the 'top' down, not least through their crazed theories that reveal a barely disguised contempt for human nature. Studies have found that the 'intelligentsia' are actually much less intelligent than the average citizen they 'lead'.

One study, cited in Robert Kirkconnell's excellent American Heart of Darkness, a revision of U.S. history through the lens of Ponerology, found that 58% of Americans are more intelligent than the average U.S. president. And in terms of moral character, most presidents were found to have next to none, relative to the national average. No doubt there are variations and exceptions to the rule through time and space, but I think this supports the contention that we don't actually need the State, and certainly not in its Leviathan form, which begins with the assumption that man is inherently evil and so must rely on the State to bestow objective morality on him from the outside.

[By the way, you can listen to our recent interview with Kirkconnell on SOTT Talk Radio here.]

I acknowledge that sweeping generalizations are generally too simplistic; the world and human psychology is complex, and so 'simple', 'final' solutions have been instrumental in getting us into this mess. Of course some individual PhDs really are experts in their chosen field; some individual bureaucrats really are good administrators; some individual military men are natural warriors; heck, some individual bankers are excellent accountants.

All of these roles can and do have a productive place within society. But I suspect that, in general, the ruling classes' importance to any given society - and I'm including roughly the 'top' 10-20% here, though the percentage undoubtedly varies from place to place, and their negative impact probably diminishes the further you move down the power/wealth scale - is grossly inflated, in much the same way the casino stock market doesn't add anything productive to the real economy of labor and capital - it just distorts everything and interferes with efficient distribution.

Check this video out:

Pretty astonishing, eh?

Note the part where the narrator says:
Everything looks like it has been designed by an architect: a single mind. This colossal and complex city was created by the collective will of the ant colony: the super-organism.
You get a clear glimpse of the human super-organism at work from time to time. One of the least reported aspects of 9/11, which was in fact also the single biggest event that day, was the evacuation of about one million people from lower Manhattan by water "in an emergent network of private and publicly owned watercraft." It wasn't part of any government or local authority drill, it wasn't organized or ordered by any 'established authorities', in fact it wasn't planned at all. While New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani was busy talking to the press, ordinary people on the ground sought information from one another, made inquiries and then just spontaneously engaged in collective decision-making and helped one another to safety in a calm and orderly manner. Their 'established' societal and hierarchical roles - banker, garbage man, foreigner, Port Authority guard, lawyer, nurse, policeman - pretty much went out the window while, in an act of collective self-preservation, they tapped into the true bonds that connect social animals. Far from being a fear-based response of 'the mob', it was the society of man responding to chaos with order.

Uhm, remind us again, what do we need leaders for?...
Maddening, isn't it, to think that the psychopaths in power then used 9/11 to create (or massively advance in any case) a global Big Brother on the pretext that We the People need them to protect us! But when it comes down to it, all their plans, security measures, and safety protocols are actually useless in the 'heat of the moment'. We protect ourselves, we protect each other. We adapt to changes in our reality, while our leaders fantasize that reality bends to their whims. And this basic distinction has substantially remained the case in spite of most still being consciously unaware of where the terrorist threat really comes from...

And so I submit that, in general, the ruling classes obstruct, retard and - in the worst cases, as we've clearly seen since 9/11 - destroy society far more often than they actually contribute to its harmonious functioning, most of which appears to happen naturally according to 'higher', as yet unconscious, laws. Like that ant colony, humanity functions as one super-organism, and it does so independently of the corrupt elites' decrees, their mad scientists' ridiculous theories, their insane enforcers' medieval habits, their greedy bankers' usurious rates, and so on.

Society, the economy, civilization, etc. don't work because of leaders and their underlings; they work in spite of them!

Part of the problem with "rising up against" the ruling classes is that there will be those whose actual underlying motivation was to replace the existing leaders and thus be in a position to take more for themselves. Psychopaths and other pathologicals will inevitably be carried along by the tide because, as history has repeatedly shown, in no time at all do they subvert a social or revolutionary movement into its opposite. But if we recognise that the masses have had - all along - the creativity, common sense, ingenuity, self-motivation and skills that they need to naturally and autonomously govern as a collective, we realize we don't need 'the State' and we don't need 'leaders'.

Is all this really designed and led by certain people? Or does it form part of a single super-organism that is intelligently-informed despite being infected with a parasite?
As things stand, however, most people cling to the illusion that they need leaders, an illusion that the elites who think they rule the rest of us are only too happy to sustain. Maybe I'm kidding myself here though about it being mere illusion. It seems that many people do need some kind of authority in their lives, to take the important decisions on behalf of the community so they can get on with the work of living their daily lives. But the problem arises when any authority structure in human affairs becomes infected with psychopaths. In this situation you have a parasite that remains firmly attached to its more intelligent, productive, and vital host: the masses of ordinary man, and to which ordinary man misguidedly gives his allegiance and respect. As long as a delicate equilibrium is maintained, where the host remains sufficiently healthy while the parasite is kept in check, as a species we get by without catastrophic 'colony collapse disorder'. There's still war, slavery, oppression, injustice and so on, but it's always competing with - or mitigated by - public education, social welfare, job creation, innovation, creative expression, sharing, democratic improvements, unionization, human rights, demand for higher wages, etc. - the impetus for which always comes up from the masses 'below'.

But what we see happening all over the world today is the worst case scenario - the parasite destroying its host, complete imbalance where the psychopathic parasite is ravaging the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual well-being of the host. It's particularly pronounced in certain Western countries, but no corner of the planet is immune. People are 'losing their minds' in ever-greater numbers, just as the bees are abruptly disappearing. The 'common sense' of ordinary people, of a higher intelligence than that of their ruling classes, has been eroded as they become sicker. Their dis-ease manifests as climatic stress, which feeds back into more human stress until...

Well, until the slate is wiped clean and the parasitic symbiosis between host and parasite is re-established, I guess. As Lobaczewski wrote in Ponerology:
Germs are not aware that they will be burned alive or buried deep in the ground along with the human body whose death they are causing.
The whole thing is just really tragic. The elites believe they're shepherding the flock toward Great Things. The flock is in fact dying because it's not really a flock; it's a super-organism that can no longer sustain the barrage of psychopathic inroads into its 'collective will'.

So, I say we try something different than 'rising up and taking back control of the governing institutions'. Forget new personnel to run those institutions: we don't need those institutions at all. Rather than engaging in battle with the tyrant, whose very thought processes are so completely alien to us that we always emerge drained from direct encounters, I say we essentially just ignore it. Not by pretending that it isn't there, but by inwardly distancing ourselves from it and outwardly seeking communion with others doing likewise.

I know that's hard for people to even begin contemplating when they're presently under financial or other duress, but the beauty of it is that the more you understand how the psychopaths rule our world, the more you free yourself from the illusion that they have any power over you; the more freedom - of the real inner kind - you'll obtain; the more you'll have to give to other humans and less to the parasites...

See your world, see yourself, see your world, see yourself...

As Joe Baegent put it, the way out is the way in

12 Signs Of Extreme Social Decay In America That Are Almost Too Horrible To Talk About

End of the American Dream
Michael Snyder

Hearts in America are getting colder even faster than the weather is.  Sometimes it is hard to believe how twisted and deranged many Americans have become.  In order for a society to function efficiently, people need to be able to have a basic level of trust in one another.

Unfortunately, we are rapidly getting to the point in America where it is becoming very difficult to trust anyone that you do not know personally.  As you will see below, the United States is rapidly becoming a cesspool of liars, thieves, murderers, perverts and psychopaths.

Please do not allow any young children to read this article.  All of this material is from mainstream news reports, but a lot of it is too disturbing for young kids to be exposed to.

The reason why I write about this stuff is because there is never going to be any hope of a turnaround in this country until we take a good, long look in the mirror and admit how far we have fallen.  Yes, a lot of these things are almost too horrible to talk about, but as a nation we must understand how bad things have become.  There is evidence of extreme social decay all around us, and it is steadily eating away at the very foundations of our Republic.

The following are excerpts from 12 recent mainstream news reports.  Once again, let me warn you that some of these crimes are so twisted that it is very difficult to even read about them.  But this is how you get an addict that has reached “rock bottom” to change.  You show them how their behavior is literally destroying them and the people around them.  And without a doubt, America is being systematically destroyed by all of this evil.  The following are 12 signs of extreme social decay in America that are almost too horrible to talk about…

#1 ‘Many going to Super Bowl for child sex’ in New Jersey: The Super Bowl has been called the “largest human-trafficking venue on the planet” with many attending the event not to watch football but for sex with men, women and children.

#2 A 13-Year-Old Boy Who Murdered His Cousin Because Of An XBox: A 13-year-old boy who allegedly killed his sleeping 16-year-old cousin after an argument over a video game system was ordered held in custody today by a juvenile court judge, authorities said.

The teen shot his cousin, Raymond Galloway, in the head at around 5:50 a.m. Sunday while Galloway slept in the teen’s bedroom in the 500 block of East 38th Place, according to Chicago police and Cook County prosecutors.

#3 District man charged with fatally stabbing wife during argument over cable bill: A man charged with fatally stabbing his wife in a Northeast Washington apartment had been arguing with her over an unpaid cable bill, which led to a violent confrontation, according to court papers filed in D.C. Superior Court on Monday. A friend found the body of Claudia Hall, 51, on Friday lying on her bed in her residence in the 300 block of 18th Place NE. Police said she had been stabbed in the abdomen and choked, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

#4 Surveillance Video Shows Bystanders Walking Over Dead Body in Convenience Store Entrance: Disturbing surveillance video shows the body of 24-year-old Jheryl Wright lying in the doorway of a convenience store in Kalamazoo, Michigan while customers walked by unaffected.
Wright had been gunned down at the entrance of the convenience store just minutes before what’s shown in the video, and according to reports, the store clerks didn’t even check to see if he was alive or dead. People came in and out of the store, stepped over him, and acted as if there wasn’t a dead body in front of them.

#5 Pizza delivery man arrested after ‘being caught on hidden camera having sex with family dog’: A Papa John’s delivery man in Florida has been arrested and charged after he was allegedly caught on hidden camera having sex with the family dog.
Joshua Lee Werbicki, 22, was taken into custody on Friday at the Palm Bay restaurant where he works and charged with felony cruelty to animals and misdemeanor criminal sex act with an animal after a video was handed to the police.
Werbicki’s roommate set up the camera after she became suspicious when the dog, a German Shepherd mix, began limping and became startled around people.

#6 Stockton Couple Accused Of Dismembering Roommate, Burning Torso In Campfire: A couple is accused of a grisly crime, killing a man and then dismembering the body. Stockton police say the suspects left a trail of blood that led them to the remains.

#7 Man Accidentally Recorded Himself Installing Hidden Camera to Secretly Record Coworkers Using Restroom: According to the San Antonio Express-News, police said Ray De la Cruz, 44, was arrested Thursday after a coworker found a recording device “taped to the back of a shelf of a storage locker located directly in front of the toilet.”

#8 N.Y. Group Applies To Build Satan Statue At Oklahoma State Capitol: The Satanic Temple unveiled designs Monday for a 7-foot-tall statue of Satan it wants to put at the Oklahoma state Capitol, where a Ten Commandments monument was placed in 2012. The group formally submitted its application to a panel that oversees the Capitol grounds, including an artist’s rendering that depicts Satan as Baphomet, a goat-headed figure with horns, wings and a long beard that’s often used as a symbol of the occult. In the rendering, Satan is sitting in a pentagram-adorned throne with smiling children next to him.

#9 First Grade Teacher Tells Young Child That “Jesus Is Not Allowed In School”: On December 13, 2013, first grader Isaiah Martinez took Christmas gifts intended for his teacher and classmates at Merced Elementary in the West Covina Unified School District. Each gift consisted of a traditional candy cane with a message attached that recited the legend of the candy cane. The legend references a candy maker who created the candy cane to symbolize the life of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah’s older sister told him about the legend of the candy cane and Isaiah asked if he could share it with his teacher and his classmates. Isaiah and his sister then purchased candy canes, printed the candy cane message and tied a copy to each candy cane.

When Isaiah brought his Christmas gift to school, his teacher took possession of the candy canes. After conferring with the school principal, the teacher told Isaiah that “Jesus is not allowed in school” and, at the apparent direction of her principal, ripped the candy cane message from each candy cane, threw the messages in the trash, and handed the candy canes back to Isaiah for delivery to his classmates. Isaiah then nervously handed the candy canes to his classmates in fear that he was in trouble for trying to bring a little Christmas cheer and “good tidings” to class.

#10 A Man Who Planned The Sexual Abuse Of His Own Daughter Before She Was Even Born: Evidence at Adleta’s trial showed that he abused his son and daughter and the child of another woman, children who ranged in age from 1 to 4.
He also ordered his wife and girlfriend to abuse children and recorded the acts; then he istributed the images as child pornography.

Adleta said nothing at the hearing except to answer, “No, your honor,” when asked by the judge if he had anything to say.

#11 Coroner: California priest beaten to death with wooden stake, metal gutter pipe: A beloved priest who was killed in the Northern California city of Eureka was beaten to death with a wooden stake and a metal gutter pipe, his autopsy shows.

#12 Hundreds of teens trash mall in wild flash mob: A wild flash mob stormed and trashed a Brooklyn mall, causing so much chaos that the shopping center was forced to close during post-Christmas sales, sources said Friday.

Whenever I do an article like this, a few people out there will try to dismiss it by claiming that these are just a few isolated “anecdotes” and that most Americans are “good people” and that we really don’t have a problem at all.

I don’t understand how anyone can possibly come to that conclusion, but for those thinking along those lines I would encourage you to check out the hundreds of other examples of advanced moral decay in America that I have discussed in previous articles.  The following are five of my previous articles to help get you started…

1. “Nation Of Sickos: Should We Be Concerned About The Moral Collapse Of America?

4. “There Are 747,000 Registered Sex Offenders In The United States
5. “20 Shocking Examples Of How Sadistic And Cruel People Have Become

Of course most people out there already know that this nation is heading in the wrong direction.

Most people out there already know on a very deep level that something has dramatically “shifted” in this nation.

The American people no longer have the same character that they once did.

So what has happened?

Why is there so much social decay all around us?

Please feel free to share what you think by posting a comment below…

“Gurus & Sexual Manipulation”

Sex Guru

From the chapter “Gurus & Sexual Manipulation” in Part One of The Guru Papers by Joel Kramer and Diana Alstad

Cross-fertilization between East and West has produced a strange hybrid—a new breed of guru who combines hedonism with detachment. The rationale takes this form: Detachment from desire is still presented as the key to spiritual progress, but the quickest path to this is said to be not through asceticism, but rather by experiencing all desires. These particular gurus depict what they are doing as modernizing ancient esoteric methodologies (sometimes referred to as “tantric”) that attempted to bring self-realization through ritualistically breaking taboos. In the name of freeing people from their limitations and “hang-ups,” this path is presented as the fastest track for contemporary Westerners to achieve spiritual goals, without undo austerity. The intoxicating message is that “You can have it all”—live out hidden desires and fantasies, experience any pleasure, break taboos around sex and even violence—and be spiritual besides.

The assumption is that if one has or cultivates the right attitude (detachment), then “Anything goes.” This seductive, seemingly liberating stance of the you-can-have-it-all gurus has attracted many highly intelligent, experimental people.

Most people’s deepest inhibitions revolve around sexuality, aggression, and violence because it is here that the deepest taboos lie. One guru utilized “workshops” where various expressions of sex, rage, and intimidation were used to break through people’s boundaries. Bones were broken and group, impersonal, and even forced sex occurred. This is indeed a fast track to breaking down personality. By telling people this was a path to liberation, deep taboos could be broken without initial guilt. This brings not only powerful feelings as energy is released, but also the experience of a particular kind of freedom—freedom from repression. Dramatic shifts of identity coupled with intense emotions are easy to interpret as profound breakthroughs.

Although breaking down personality in this fashion can seem like a breakthrough, it contains an inherent hidden trap: It is the authority of the guru that gives permission to “act out.” Thus only through accepting the guru’s values and worldview can the hurtful aspects of such actions be ignored and condoned.

Having been stripped of their values, these newly “liberated” people are in a fragile state until new values and a new sense of identity can be integrated. Having “emptied” them, it’s easy for the guru to step in at this crucial moment and put his personal values and ideology at their center. So the followers’ new identity forms around surrender to him, a father figure, the one they now trust above all others—even themselves—because he supposedly liberated them in bestowing this great sense of freedom. This kind of freedom is the real illusion. Here direction and permission from an authority, combined with group pressure, moved many to act out in ways they were not capable of integrating without accepting the guru as the ultimate source of truth. What did not change is the underlying authoritarian personality structure, which was, if anything, reinforced.

Most often those who became involved in such groups could not conceive of themselves as subject to authoritarian manipulation. They saw themselves rather as true spiritual adventurers, unafraid to push against the boundaries of convention. For them, the very fact that they were capable of going beyond social constraints was a sign of liberation. (They were also told this by the guru.) That many discontented and innovative people were unwittingly seduced into submission and conformity (visible only to others) indicates the depth of people’s susceptibility to authoritarian control.

To rebel against one authority (society) by accepting another (a leader who gives permission to rebel) merely shifts allegiance, while giving the illusion of liberation. There are different ways of unleashing the repressed in oneself. Surrendering to a guru who facilitates this is one of them. However, this is very risky. Here these repressed aspects are highly manipulable because their allowability is dependent permission from an authority. The authority then ultimately defines what is permissible. This is how people can come to lie, steal, and even kill for the glory of God, or the guru.

Bringing up repressed desires can be useful in a context that fosters integration. The guru /disciple relationship is not such a context because it does not allow people to integrate their own experiences. Rather a new identity, that of disciple, is given as the means for integration. An identity that is dependent on the authority of another is not only fragile, but it is not a truly deep inner restructuring. The content may look different, which includes taking on a different worldview and values (the guru’s). However, the deepest structures of personality, especially how the person integrates experience and looks for validation, remain not only unchanged, but are often strengthened by this essentially authoritarian relationship.

The contents of a personality (beliefs, values, a worldview), though resistant, change far more easily than the underlying form or context, which in many is unconsciously authoritarian. This is not surprising given that so much of culture is transmitted as a given, not to be questioned, meaning that our heritage, too, is unconsciously authoritarian.

Seemingly dramatic shifts that involve switching quickly from one authoritarian system to another are not that difficult. (Many disillusioned Marxists shifted their utopian hopes to the spiritual world.) Utilizing sex (or violence) to push limits is indeed a quick way to undermine people’s identity and move them, but to where? We consider this truly unethical, not only because it fails to take into account how it hurts others, but because the very quickness of it leaves people awash and subject to easy manipulation. This is but another example of the great myth that an external authority can be the source of inner freedom.

Extremes in emotionally disconnected sex also disconnect the desire for closeness with another, especially when intimacy is pejoratively labeled “attachment.” This makes it easy for the guru to be the central emotional bond. As a result, many disciples gradually give less importance to sex, some even drifting into celibacy. They take this as a sign of their spiritual progress. For after all, they had tried sex to their heart’s content and seemed to have outgrown it, evolving into a supposedly more spiritual detachment— precisely as predicted and promised.

Not coincidentally, this also increased their faith in the guru’s wisdom and made them more available to work harder on whatever agenda the guru prescribed. This answers the riddle of how promoting detached promiscuity eventually turns dedicated hedonists into dedicated workers.

Fostering promiscuity, impersonal sex, and interchangeable sexual partners accomplishes the same agenda as celibacy. It trivializes sexual attraction and undermines coupling. Casual, disconnected, modular sex eventually leaves people satiated, jaded, and often hurt. They become fearful of forming deep relationships, which fits neatly into the guru’s need to have disciples detached from everything but him.

Throughout all this sexual manipulation, the underlying authoritarian personality structure not only remains intact and unconscious, but is greatly buttressed. For now it’s not just messages implanted in one’s mind long ago that impose “shoulds” and internal control; it’s a living authority figure who wields the absolute power of active mind control. This includes the power to make people who are being callously manipulated believe they are freer than everyone else.
