Zuckerberg wants your nude photos for “safe keeping”

Facebook is asking users to send nude pictures of themselves to “prevent” them from being shared publicly on the company’s various platforms.

“We’re now partnering with safety organizations on a way for people to securely submit photos they fear will be shared without their consent, so we can block them from being uploaded to Facebook, Instagram and Messenger,” Facebook said in a statement. “This pilot program, starting in Australia, Canada, the UK and US, expands on existing tools for people to report this content to us if it’s already been shared.”

https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Ffbsafety%2Fposts%2F1666174480087050&width=500

In the UK, Facebook users will call the “Revenge Porn Hotline” which will allow them to submit nude photos of themselves that Facebook will then flag as “not for distribution.”

In other words, Facebook wants to see your nude pics to “block” them from being spread on-line.

That’s right, Facebook, whose CEO once famously called his users “dumb fucks” for trusting him with their secrets, now expects you to submit your nudes for “safe keeping.”

Growing number of children groomed to film own sexual abuse

The Guardian

Children are being coerced and blackmailed into live-streaming their own sexual abuse from their own homes, researchers have found.

The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF), which carried out the study, says that large numbers of victims are white girls apparently from relatively affluent backgrounds, often streaming from their bedroom. Their profile contrasts markedly with that of typical offline abuse victims who are often homeless or poor, it points out.

In a three-month period last year, the charity identified 2,082 images and videos of live-streamed child sexual abuse. Of that number, 96% were girls and 98% were children aged 13 and under, with most (69%) assessed to be between 11 and 13. Almost three in 10 (28%) were aged under 10 and the youngest victim was just three years old.

The vast majority (96%) showed a child on their own in a home environment, leading the IWF to conclude they are being groomed, coerced and blackmailed into live-streaming their own sexual abuse over webcams, tablets and mobile phones.

Claims of sex orgies, prostitution and porn videos shake Catholic Church in Italy

Religion News Service

ROME (RNS) Lurid accusations of priests involved in sex orgies, porn videos and prostitution have emerged from several parishes in Italy recently, sending shock waves all the way to the Vatican and challenging the high standards that Pope Francis has demanded of clergy.

In the southern city of Naples, for example, a priest was recently suspended from the parish of Santa Maria degli Angeli over claims he held gay orgies and used internet sites to recruit potential partners whom he paid for sex.

The allegations concerning the Rev. Mario D’Orlando were brought to the attention of the diocese when an anonymous letter was sent to a Naples bishop. D’Orlando denied the charges when he was summoned by the city’s archbishop, Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, but is now facing a formal inquiry conducted by local church officials.

“He has been removed from his position while the investigation is underway,” a spokesman for the cardinal told Religion News Service. “I have no further comment.”

In the northern city of Padua, a 48-year-old priest, the Rev. Andrea Contin, is facing defrocking as well as judicial proceedings amid accusations he had up to 30 lovers, some of whom he took to a swingers’ resort in France.

How internet porn is creating a generation of men desensitised to real life sex

The Independent

Porn-induced erectile dysfunction is becoming increasingly widespread

A masculinity expert says he fears heavy internet porn usage may have left up to one in 10 young men with erection problems.

Dr Andrew Smiler said that easy access to endless streaming porn is leaving healthy young men with the sexual problem.

He told The Independent: “The guys I see, most of them are between 13 and 25. The vast majority are, for the most part, the picture of physical health.

“So if I’m masturbating to porn once a day for 15 minutes but I do that every day for five years, I’m pretty well on my way to being an expert to having an orgasm to porn.”

He warned that because many heavy users are young, the habit becomes even more concerning.

“If I’m 17 and that is 90% of my sexual orgasmic experience, then I’ve put a lot of effort into that particular variety/flavour of sexual development but I’ve put in very little time developing my sexuality with another person, so it makes it more challenging to become aroused to another person and you find yourself in this other direction which is often very different to sex with a person.”

A 2014 study found that one third of men watch porn every day, and given that porn consumption has been increasing over the past few years - largely due to the advent of the smartphones and super-fast data connections - it’s likely that number is now even higher.

Sexual mind programming: Over half of boys think pornographic sex is realistic

RT

Boys who view online pornography believe it's a realistic depiction of sex, according to a study of British high school students by Middlesex University.

The research, which was commissioned by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), found that out of 1,000 pupils aged 11-16, 53 percent said they had viewed online pornography. While some searched for it, many were likely to have come across it accidentally, often through pop-up ads.

Indeed, 53 percent of boys who had viewed pornography said they thought it depicted a realistic impression of sex, while 39 percent of girls thought the images were realistic.

Some 41 percent of boys and girls who viewed porn for the first time felt 'curious,' while 27 percent said they were 'shocked', 27 percent 'confused,' and 24 percent said they were 'disgusted.'

X-rated sites were accessed for the first time on a mobile device or tablet by 33 percent of those surveyed.

One girl, aged between 11 and 12, told researchers she "didn't like it because it came on by accident," the Guardian reports.

"I don't want my parents to find out and the man looked like he was hurting her, he was holding her down and she was screaming and swearing," the girl added. "I know about sex but it didn't look nice. It makes me feel sick if I think about my parents doing it like that."

UK Government Admits 250,000 Porn Websites Visited On Parliament PCs

Zero Hedge

Prime Minister David Cameron vowed in 2013 to block pornographic material from "the darkest corners of the internet."

Cameron announced in July that most households in the UK would have pornography blocked by their internet provider unless they chose to receive it.
Online pornography was "corroding childhood" and "distorting" children's understanding of sex and relationships, he argued.

The UK's biggest internet service providers have agreed to the filters scheme meaning it should cover 95% of homes.

But one of Mr Cameron's advisers, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, said the plans were "absolutely ridiculous".
It appears he better start at home...

Thanks to a Freedom of Information request by the Daily Express, RT reports, over 247,000 attempts were made to visit X-rated websites from the UK Parliament’s computer network last year, with the numbers spiking during parliamentary recess in April...

Attempts to access more than 42,000 sites classed as pornographic were made during April alone last year, totaling more than 1,300 each day.

Porn and video game addiction are leading to 'masculinity crisis', says Stanford prison experiment psychologist

The Independent

A leading psychologist has warned that young men are facing a crisis of masculinity due to excessive use of video games and pornography.

Psychologist and professor emeritus at Stanford University Phillip Zimbardo has made the warnings, which form a major part of his latest book, Man (Dis)Connected.

In an interview on the BBC World Service's Weekend programme, Zimbardo spoke about the results of his study, an in-depth look into the lives of 20,000 young men and their relationships with video games and pornography.

He said: "Our focus is on young men who play video games to excess, and do it in social isolation - they are alone in their room."

"Now, with freely available pornography, which is unique in history, they are combining playing video games, and as a break, watching on average, two hours of pornography a week."

Zimbardo says there is a "crisis" amongst young men, a high number of whom are experiencing a "new form of addiction" to excessive use of pornography and video games.

Zimbardo gave a TED talk in 2011 outlining the problems facing young men's social development and academic achievement, which he puts down to excessive use of porn, video games and the internet.

He cited the example of a mother he met while conducting the study whose son does not see the problem in playing video games for up to 15 hours a day.

Zimbardo said: "For me, 'excess' is not the number of hours, it's a psychological change in mindset."

Why watching too much porn could be bad for the brain

The Independent

Men who watch regularly pornography could be reducing the size of their brain, a study has found.

Researchers discovered less grey matter in the brains of men who regularly view pornography compared with those who don’t.

Experts say it’s the first evidence for a link between watching sexually explicit material and reductions in brain size – but the new study doesn’t prove that pornography causes changes to the brain.

They say an alternative explanation could be that men with a certain type of brain with overly-sensitive reward stimuli – known as the ‘striatum’ - could be more likely to use pornography.

Dr Simone Kühn from the Max Planck Institution in Berlin led the study. “Unfortunately we cannot answer this question based on the results of the present,” she said.

“It’s not clear, for example, whether watching porn leads to brain changes or whether people born with certain brain types watch more porn”.

Dr Kühn and colleagues from Berlin’s Charite University used 64 healthy men between the ages of 21 and 45 years and studied their porn-watching habits.

They matched their survey results with scans of the men’s brains and observed both the volume of the brain and the way they reacted to sexually explicit images.

The findings, published in the JAMA Psychiatry Journal, have been met with scepticism from some experts who say that watching pornography in moderation was probably not harmful.

Dr Gregory Tau from Columbia University said that porn-watching was “probably not terrible in moderation”.

“It is possible that there are individuals with a certain kind of brain that are more susceptible to these kinds of behaviours,” he said.

“Or, it’s possible it’s the excessive use (of porn) that’s perpetuating itself to causing brain changes.

Or, it could be both.”

Dr Kühn has called for future studies to conduct deeper investigations into the effects of pornography on the brain over time.

Cameron's internet filter goes far beyond porn - and that was always the plan

New Statesman

Through secretive negotiations with ISPs, the coalition has divided the internet into 'acceptable' and 'unacceptable' categories and cut people off from huge swathes of it at the stroke of a key.

There is no porn filter, and blocking Childline is not an accident

The idea of an internet porn filter has always been a political fiction, a conveniently inaccurate sound bite used to conjure images of hardcore fisting and anal rape in the feverishly overactive imaginations of middle Britain. What activists actually called for - and ISPs were forced to provide - is an 'objectionable content' filter, and there is a vast, damp and aching chasm between the two.

The language of the mythical 'porn filter' is so insidious, so pervasive, that even those of us opposed to it have been sucked into its slippery embrace. And so even when it turns out that O2 are blocking the Childline and Refuge websites, or that BT are blocking gay and lesbian content, we tend to regard them as collateral damage – accidental victims of a well-meaning (if misguided) attempt to protect out children from the evils of cock.

But this was never the case. As Wired reported back in July, Cameron’s ambitions extended far beyond porn. Working through secretive negotiations with ISPs, the coalition has put in place a set of filters and restrictions as ambitious as anything this side of China, dividing the internet into 'acceptable' and 'unacceptable' categories, and cutting people off from huge swathes of it at the stroke of a key.

"As well as pornography, users may automatically be opted in to blocks on "violent material", "extremist related content", "anorexia and eating disorder websites" and "suicide related websites", "alcohol" and "smoking". But the list doesn't stop there. It even extends to blocking "web forums" and "esoteric material", whatever that is. "Web blocking circumvention tools" is also included, of course."

And the restrictions go further still. Over the weekend, people were appalled to discover that BT filters supported homophobia, with a category blocking, "sites where the main purpose is to provide information on subjects such as respect for a partner, abortion, gay and lesbian lifestyle, contraceptive, sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy."

NSA Tracks Porn to Discredit Activists …

Washington's Blog

And to Blackmail Critics?

Huffington Post reports:
The National Security Agency has been gathering records of online sexual activity and evidence of visits to pornographic websites as part of a proposed plan to harm the reputations of those whom the agency believes are radicalizing others through incendiary speeches, according to a top-secret NSA document. The document, provided by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, identifies six targets, all Muslims, as “exemplars” of how “personal vulnerabilities” can be learned through electronic surveillance, and then exploited to undermine a target’s credibility, reputation and authority.
***
Among the vulnerabilities listed by the NSA that can be effectively exploited are “viewing sexually explicit material online” and “using sexually explicit persuasive language when communicating with inexperienced young girls.”
***
None of the six individuals targeted by the NSA is accused in the document of being involved in terror plots. The agency believes they all currently reside outside the United States. It identifies one of them, however, as a “U.S. person,” which means he is either a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
***
The NSA believes the targeted individuals radicalize people through the expression of controversial ideas via YouTube, Facebook and other social media websites.
***
According to the document, the NSA believes that exploiting electronic surveillance to publicly reveal online sexual activities can make it harder for these “radicalizers” to maintain their credibility.
Huff Post notes that the NSA is also sharing the information with other agencies:
The Director of the National Security Agency — described as “DIRNSA” — is listed as the “originator” of the document. Beyond the NSA itself, the listed recipients include officials with the Departments of Justice and Commerce and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
This is nothing new. We’ve previously reported that information gained by the NSA through spying is shared with federal, state and local agencies, and they are using that information to prosecute petty crimes such as drugs and taxes. The agencies are instructed to intentionally “launder” the information gained through spying, i.e. to pretend that they got the information in a more legitimate way … and to hide that from defense attorneys and judges.

American Civil Liberties Union Deputy Legal Director Jameel Jaffer said:
This report is an unwelcome reminder of what it means to give an intelligence agency unfettered access to individuals’ most sensitive information. One ordinarily associates these kinds of tactics with the secret police services of authoritarian governments. That these tactics have been adopted by the world’s leading democracy – and the world’s most powerful intelligence agency – is truly chilling.
Indeed, this is the exactly same kind of thing which the FBI did in the bad old days. As Huffington Post notes:
U.S. officials have in the past used similar tactics against civil rights leaders, labor movement activists and others.
Under J. Edgar Hoover, the FBI harassed activists and compiled secret files on political leaders, most notably Martin Luther King, Jr. The extent of the FBI’s surveillance of political figures is still being revealed to this day, as the bureau releases the long dossiers it compiled on certain people in response to Freedom of Information Act requests following their deaths. The information collected by the FBI often centered on sex — homosexuality was an ongoing obsession on Hoover’s watch — and information about extramarital affairs was reportedly used to blackmail politicians into fulfilling the bureau’s needs.

Catholic Church faces hardcore porn shame

Nothing surprises me about the catholic church anymore. A structure for lies, depravity, corruption, and abuse of every kind. Sincere folks and the faithful in general should cultivate a direct line to "God" rather than hang around this literal den of iniquity.

"A.. filtering system failure". That could apply to the whole catholic church in general I think judging by the amount of paedophiles currently infesting its corridors.

------------------

New Zealand Herald via Cryptogon

Germany's biggest Catholic-owned publishing house has been rocked by disclosures that it has been selling thousands of pornographic novels with titles such as Sluts Boarding School and Lawyer's Whore with the full assent of the country's leading bishops.

The revelations made in the publishing-industry newsletter Buchreport concern Weltbild, a company with an annual NZ$3bn turnover and 6,400 employees. It is Germany's largest bookseller after Amazon and wholly owned by the Catholic Church.

Buchreport revealed that Weltbild's massive assortment of titles available to customers online includes some 2,500 "erotic" books with unmistakably lewd titles including Call Me Slut!, Take Me Here, Take Me Now! and Lawyer's Whore, to name a few. The publisher's website also pictures the titles' lascivious dust jackets that feature colour photographs of scantily clad women in high heels and erotic underwear.

Yesterday, Carel Haff, Weltbild's managing director, was quoted as saying that the revelations had provoked "a very intense and critical dialogue" within the company. He said discussions were under way about possibly limiting the assortment of titles that would be available in future.

Catholic bishops responded with a statement claiming that "a filtering system failure" at the publishing house had allowed the books to stray on to the market. "We will put a stop to the distribution of possibly pornographic content in future," they said.

But Bernhard Mller, editor of the Catholic magazine PUR, dismissed the clerics' reaction as grossly hypocritical. He alleged that the pornography scandal at Weltbild had been going on for at least a decade with the Church's full knowledge.

Mr Mller said that in 2008, a group of concerned Catholics had sent bishops a 70-page document containing irrefutable evidence that Weltbild published books that promoted pornography, Satanism and magic. They demanded that the publisher withdraw the titles.

But their protests appear to have been completely ignored. Writing in the Die Welt newspaper, Mr Mller said most of the bishops refused to respond to the charges. "The sudden proclaimed astonishment of many church leaders that pornographic material is being distributed by their publishing house, is play acting - bad play acting," Mr Mller said. "Believers have been complaining to their bishops about this for years."

The Catholic Church bought Weltbild more than 30 years ago. The publisher has gradually transformed itself into one of Germany's largest media companies with the help of millions in Catholic Church tax levied on believers. To increase its profits, in 1998 the company merged with five other publishing houses that market pornographic titles.

One of them is Droemer Knaur, which is 50 per cent church-owned. Another is Blue Panther Books, which was excluded from the list of participating publishers at this year's Frankfurt Book Fair allegedly because of the pornographic content of is titles.
It emerged yesterday that in an attempt to clear itself of potential embarrassment over the sale of porn, the Catholic Church tried to sell Weltbild in 2009. But the bishops apparently abandoned the idea after they failed to get the price they were asking.

The Poison Pill of Un-Reality Part V

For thirty years I served her Majesty at home and abroad without acknowledgment or reward.
Then  I publish a pornographic book, and at once earn £10,000 and fame. I begin at last to
understand the public  and what it wants. - Sir Richard Burton

I've met a lot of men who were motivated to commit violence, just like me. And, without
exception, every one of them was deeply involved in pornography. - Ted Bundy

Pornography, literally charges the blood. It is a bio-chemical “opiate”. After all, these are the chemicals that flow through our bodies that create liaisons, affairs, unions and marriages. The latter rituals are naturally very often doomed to failure precisely because of this false chemical romance. Frequent exposure for the child  may cause an emotional de-sensitization both in terms of sexual desire i.e. a greater threshold of stimulation is required and thus the seeking out of such material of a harder or more extreme quality and secondly the atrophying of more finer qualities of emotional communication.  More and more stimulation can lead to addiction whether child or adult. The former however, is more vulnerable to the power of such images due to the level of emotional immaturity and hormonal influences.

Children will mimic and experiment with what they see at an early age and though this is certainly a natural stage in child development that is often colloquially labelled “doctors and nurses” the easy availability of sex and violence together on T.V. as “jolting” images disconnected from context appear to have its effects on the psyche of the child. We are seeing patterns of cases reflecting the premature absorption of programming that “forces” children to partially act out certain scenarios for sexual experimentation that will be way beyond the emotional maturity needed for such adult explorations. In many cases progressive and habitual exposure to pornography has played a key role in influencing this experimentation. 1 Though it may not be a primary factor in every case, both in minor offences and criminal felonies, pornography is invariably present as an indirect or direct influence, particularly with rapists and child molesters. 2

In Britain, the official porn capital of Europe and with a £31.1 billion slice of the $57.0 billion global market, 3 pornography is becoming so acceptable that teenage girls are beginning to see it as a valid career choice. In “porn-speak” this acceptability starts from “glamour” as it is now named and it is this glamour industry ideal that is attractive to over 63 percent of 1,000 girls questioned in a British survey while 25 percent preferred the idea of lap dancing. 4 The mobile phone has also been taken over by instant messaging porn. Now you can get aroused during a coffee break or in rush-hour traffic.

Even back in 1999, Internet tracking company Forrester Research, estimated that $1bn of the $7.8bn spent online last year went on pornography. Private Media Group, On Command Corp. and Metro Global Media and Vivid Entertainment are just some of the porn corporations listed on NASDAQ. Wall Street knows that selling sex is immensely profitable which is why AT&T, MCI, Time-Warner, Comcast, Echo Star Communications, GM’s DirecTV, Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Radisson, VISA, MasterCard and American Express, as a brief sample, are all involved in receiving enormous revenues from the porn industry. They are understandably coy about revealing this side of their financial interests. The first cable company to offer hard-core adult movies to subscribers was Adelphia Communications Corp. who had also donated large sums of money to some of the most right wing members of Congress.  5

Some of the hotel chains such as Marriott and Hilton earn about $190 million per year from in-room pay-per-view porn videos  6   while AT&T and MCI WorldCom are leading the 1-900 phone-sex market, generating almost $1 billion per year. 7 While Adult toys chain Castle Superstores Corp operates outlets in 11 Wal-Mart stores in the Mid West of the US, Europe too is getting in on the act upholding a financial tradition that supports exploitation including pornography. In the late nineties German bank Commerzbank acted as financial advisor for Beate Uhse, a German sex merchandise firm that floated on the Neuer Market. It was not the first flotation to tempt the family bank. In fact, it has taken part in many of Europe’s biggest porn-related, corporate deals. 8   Nothing like hypocrisy and double standards to fulfil their market-led responsibilities.

Although there is still resistance from Wall Street to the full embrace of porn, it will arrive. Profits always win out, especially when the possibilities of marketed sex is shaping the quality and direction of technology.

Due to the accessibility of internet porn there is undoubtedly a rise in children and teenagers becoming addicted to images which distort not only their sexuality from developing healthily but further increases the view that women are objectified. Sex and love are terminally confused in the world of the adult, let alone the emerging adolescent. In one researcher’s words, boys are: “consuming porn literally every day since they were 14. Our sexual cues and desires are learnt during adolescence, and . . . these young men were regularly viewing bestiality and group sex”. 9   Many researchers agree that the average age of exposure to pornography begins at around eleven years old, though 90 percent of children are exposed to some form of pornography from the ages of eight - sixteen, often while doing their homework.

Assuming we are even online at all, how familiar are we with what is out there on the wonderful world of the internet? Carry out a search using the keyword “porn” and you will find over 130 million hits alone with well over 260 million pornography related internet pages. 10

Some of the easily accessible websites include links to a variety of other sites which include hardcore porn categories which make up by far, the biggest market. This may be categorized variously as “interracial sex” “S&M” “Fetish” “Anal” “Hairy” “Rape”  “Rough Sex” “MLF” “Mature” “Transsexual” “Fetish” “Bi” “Lesbian” “Gay” “Bestiality”  “Amateur” “Teen,” “Black,” “Latino,” “Blonde” etc. in an almost endless stream of categories to cater for soft porn to extreme deviancy.

All the above categories have sub-titles with endless networked sites that create revenue from DVD sales, sex toys and one off monthly, quarterly and yearly subscriptions. Although some sites have an adult password age verification warnings, the former can easily be obtained, while the latter is ignored by any hormonally compromised school boy. All or most of these websites will include free samples of movies and clips of both soft and hard core sex acts from playboy models to Japanese-schoolgirl-sado-masochistic bondage; foot-loving fetish to farm-yard animal exploits. All is accessible on your friendly family search engine if parental controls are not observed even then these controls are hardly any match for the cyber-savvy teen.

Do-it-yourself-porn is also online with a vengeance. Webcams are hosted by either company backed porn starlets or individual “amateur teens” branching out into their own blog with “pay-to-view” live-cam experiences. We can be sure that the internet is providing an expansion of both the amateur and professional porn entrepreneurialism. The internet is merely reflecting the next phase of “market need” that is appearing within the living rooms of our “American beauty” suburbia. 11

Digital videos and the do-it-yourself amateur porn business are booming with “self help” books teaching you “how to get rich quick.” A cursory peruse around internet book stores and titles such as Adult Website Money: How to Build, Start, and Market an Adult Website Business for Little to No Cost in 30 Days! Or, How To Use Your Computer Internet Skills To Get a Date or Have Sex with a Video Porn Star, Stripper, Escort or Model. Then there is the feverish title of Adult Video Business: How You Can Find Attractive Women to Star in Your Own Adult Films, Make Money, and Quit Work in 7 Weeks. They are beginning to appear more frequently each year.

As the author of one popular paperback claims: “She lives happily on the beach in Malibu with her Jack Russell terrier, Arpy.” 12  With such a glowing endorsement of well-adjusted porn stars with their contented pooches it seems there is no need to worry - the porn business is comfortably settling itself into the mainstream.

That being the case, one piece of research urges caution over what they consider to be a “porn myth” as regards online saturation of pornography websites. In a study conducted by Dr. Steve Lawrence and Dr. C. Lee Giles for the NEC Research Institute they found that only 1.5 percent of Web sites contain pornographic content. This is more understandable when “the Web contains about 800 million pages encompassing about 15 terabytes of data and about 180 million images.” And further: ‘The sex sites were much less than you would have thought,’ Lawrence said.” Their findings also confirm that it is not so much pornography that has taken over the web but corporations and their commercial websites that make up 83 percent of internet with only 6 percent containing scientific or educational content. 13

Nevertheless, there is much more the search engines cannot access or index which logically amounts to millions of sites. Yet half of the porn sites (though not the most popular with US surfers) are hosted outside the US, so American-based legislation will continue to be ignored. This is both good in terms of censorship and bad in terms of those underage. Possibilities for blocking are available, assuming that parents are sufficiently able to monitor their offspring, which is unlikely.

Whether there are only 10 million, 20 million or 260 million, if a child punches into a search engine an overtly sexual term – which they will - it does not matter the precise number if websites that will instantly appear offering hardcore images to view. The pages are there. And pornography of even 15 years ago has transformed into the cyber porn of the 21st century which bares no resemblance at all to its former top shelf days (though magazines are still doing a roaring trade). Playboy and Penthouse are like the soft whispers of a tabloid angel compared to the material any school boy or girl can access.

Sex, Lies and Society Part I

“The only unnatural sex act is that which you cannot perform.”- Alfred C. Kinsey

Paidika Blues and The Kinsey Legacy

Some of the most vocal proponents of “paedophile rights” rather than paedophile treatment include Bruce Rind, Robert Bauserman and Judith Levine, all of whom have taken on the mantle of proving to the world that child abuse is vastly overestimated and the problem may not even exist. The media, while touting sensationalist stories and stoking fear on the one hand, has also given a great deal of coverage to these views. It is especially dangerous when we realize that Messer’s Rind, Bauserman and Ms. Levine while offering some valid points of contention, have also produced shoddy research and biased data which they then present as fact.
Child abuse is the source of many complex and problematic issues that should not trivialized and its social impact and brevity reduced. This has fed into a bastion pf para-logistical and para-moralistic discourse 1 further muddying the waters of sexual abuse as a whole. The academic credentials of Rind, Tromovitch and Bauserman are negated by their astonishing bias which amounts to a trumpeting of paedophile rights at the expense of their child victims.

Rind’s influential collection of studies on the impact of child abuse, in summary, came to the conclusion that abuse was a symptom of family dysfunction rather than sexual abuse. 2 Statistics were produced from select college samples to prove this point. Other conclusions suggested that the age of consent was subject to whether or not violence is involved. If the child – with no distinction to age – gives consent, then it is not abuse. If violent coercion emerges then this is abuse. Even the term “abuse” was to be replaced by the “adult-child” or adult-adolescent sex.

Once again, paedophile apologists fail to distinguish between the emotional differences between child and adult, the mature and immature; they fail to address the effects of abuse from non-coercive methods thus excluding the highly manipulative nature of paedophiles, child molesters and predators within a family setting. They place the onus on the child as instigator rather than the victim and manage to twist socio-cultural statistics to fit their own clear bias for sex between adults and children. This is not to say that all the data collected was without merit, but the methods by which they collected this data and the final conclusions they came to were very far from impartial.

The Journal of Paidika published in the Netherlands (where the age of sexual consent is twelve) is, in its own words: “…a scholarly journal which seeks to examine the range of cultural, historical, psychological, and literary issues pertaining to consensual adult-child sexual relationships and desires. The journal is attempting to create a “history of record”. The Journal is subject to academic peer-review and is subscribed to by prestigious institutions such as the British Library and by the Library of Congress.” Unfortunately, while this implies rigorous science and solid objectivity, the reality is somewhat different.

Paidika by its own admission is essentially a journal of paedophilia which is concerned with placing the scientific acceptance of paedophile’s rights firmly on the academic agenda. However, reading the journal one is left with the overwhelming realization that there is only pseudo-science to be found, gift-wrapped for the paedophile intelligentsia. Rind and Bausermann have been publishing articles in the Journal a number of years before their “meta-analysis” appeared on the scene. Both have gone out of their way to promote and defend the scientific justification for seeing paedophilia as just another way to express oneself sexually, when clearly this is a travesty of the facts and as un-scientific as it is immoral.

Persons such as Judith Levine can be commended for raising the issue of child agency power, overprotection and those profiting from child abuse. However, her simplification and selective data is dangerously misleading. What is especially disturbing is the underreported fact that her key source for much of her statistical data and analyses came from her hero Lawrence Stanley for whom academic paedophilia was not simply confined to white papers.  He was convicted in absentia, by a Dutch court in 1998 for sexual abuse of three 7 to 10-year-old girls and faces a three-year prison sentence if he returns to the Netherlands. With the Netherlands reputation regarding paedophilia we can imagine that the case details must have been rather convincing.

At the time of writing, Stanley has yet to face charges for sexually assaulting a girl in Canada who was under the age of 14 and  according to a wire services report in The Miami Herald and was finally arrested and charged with possession of child pornography in Brazil. For someone who proposes an age of consent to be dropped to twelve and with many of her sources from closet or “practicing” paedophiles, we can understand how Levine’s bias then colours her very selective research. 3 While Levine believes paedophiles can be “cured” the evidence suggests otherwise. Paedophilia can be controlled but it cannot - so far - be cured as the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers clearly state: “There is no known ‘cure.’ ”4

The US paedophile activists have received much support from the liberal traditions of Scandinavia and Northern Europe which have also given opportunities for more bizarre forms of “sexual liberation” to take hold. The Netherlands seems to have a strange predilection for this kind of deviancy, where an often valuable and responsible progressive tradition seems to go headlong over the edge. In fact, in Holland the audacity of Dutch paedophiles fighting for their right to abuse children in their own country launched a new political party in May 2006 called The Charity, Freedom and Diversity Party (NVD) which stands for some interesting forms of “emancipation” including:

* Private possession of child pornography to be allowed; (though a ban on trading such material)
* The broadcasting of pornography on daytime television, with only violent pornography limited to the late evening.
* Toddlers should be given sex education.
* Youths aged 16 and up should be allowed to appear in pornographic films and prostitute themselves.
* Sex with animals should be allowed although abuse of animals should remain illegal.
* Everybody should be allowed to go naked in public.
* The legalization of all soft and hard drugs.
* Free train travel for all.

This is similar to the way monotheistic religions work by including a few vital truths floating in a sea of ponerological influences. The above manifesto borders on a tragic-comedy however.

Sweden too have gone one step further than the Netherlands by lifting the ban that had been imposed on homosexuality in 1944, along with…Bestiality. According to the country's first government-commissioned study horses are the species most often sexually abused. The government last year tasked the Swedish Animal welfare Agency to determine the scope of the problem including whether or not the animals suffer psychologically from the abuse. A person can be found guilty of cruelty to animals if prosecutors can prove that the animal suffered physical or psychological injury. One has to question from which reality those who presided over the legalization of such a law and what criteria they used to arrive at such a conclusion other than the simple reason they  were quite partial to these activities themselves. Having sex with animals and then using tax payer’s money to determine if the animal enjoyed the experience seems to be going beyond the bounds of political correctness.

Meanwhile, as money being spent on commissioned studies to determine whether horses have Post Traumatic Stress, victimised children are falling through the net and justice is being ignored. This understandably raises questions regarding the suitability of a judicial system that legalises sex with animals while claiming to uphold the moral integrity required for sexual abuse cases of human beings. It seems that we should be not only keeping a watchful eye on our children, but our pets as well.

Finland also has curious laws which appear to favour predators. In 1996 police discovered a “massive computer library of child pornography that included pictures of torture, mutilation, and cannibalism.” However, the owner of the child pornography evaded arrest because distributing hard-core child pornography is a minor offence in Finland. The insanity of misplaced liberalism continues. Partnered with censorship and prudish paranoia at the other end of the scale, leaves us all in a sea of disempowerment and chaos. This in turn, is perfect for the upper echelons to indulge their own sexual exploitation away from the public eye. Such cover and confusion owes its debt to its advocates so enamoured by the pseudo-sexologists and psychiatric fraternity…

1 Paralogism: n. illogical or fallacious deduction. paralogical, paralogistic, a. paralogize, v.i. be illogical; draw unwarranted conclusions. paralogist, n. Paramoralism: “The conviction that moral values exist and that some actions violate moral rules is so common and ancient a phenomenon that it seems to have some substratum at man’s instinctive endowment level (although it is certainly not totally adequate for moral truth), and that it does not only represent centuries’ of experience, culture, religion, and socialization. Thus, any insinuation framed in moral slogans is always sugges-tive, even if the “moral” criteria used are just an “ad hoc” in-vention. Any act can thus be proved to be immoral or moral by means of such paramoralisms utilized as active suggestion, and people whose minds will succumb to such reasoning can always be found”.From Political Ponerology: A science on the nature of evil adjusted for political purposes by Andrew M. The Politics of Entrapment Part VI

    Under Plain Cover

In the UK, new rules exist that oblige doctors and social workers to give the police any information they have about teenagers’ sex lives. The London Child Protection Committee (LCPC) protocol allows child welfare staff an unjustifiable level of interference in the sex lives of teenagers, which could risk breaching the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and the right to privacy enshrined in article eight of the convention. Senior lawyer Stephen Groz commented on the new protocol believing that: “It is particularly hard to see what justification there can be for routine assessment - if that is what is intended - in the case of those in the 16-18 year age group, where the prevention of crime will normally afford no justification at all.”1

Mandatory sentencing where no clear definition of the crime is known is already steaming ahead. According to one expert, 12 and 13-year-old defendants “are being convicted of relatively minor sexual indiscretions in the crown court, and, if the law operates as it is supposed to, being sentenced to custody when it should be a supervision order.” 2

With over 2,225 child offenders serving life without parole (LWOP) sentences in U.S prisons for crimes committed before they were age 18,  it seems Europe is being set to emulate the decline of the US.
3 It is no surprise that America’s principles of fascism cloaked under the pretence of liberty are being welcomed by some governments of Europe. In a country with the largest prison population in the world and where corruption in the judiciary and police forces is a way of life, perhaps this is unsurprising.

David Blunkett MP (who resigned last year after yet another financial scandal) would call such concerns “airy-fairy” and those seeking a fair and just system as the enemy. Blunkett proceeded to remove the presumption of innocence from the Sexual Offences act of 2003, giving a straight and clear road for court cases to be prosecuted successfully without any evidence. This lay greater emphasis on the prosecution state where, as in the US, you are presumed guilty before being proven innocent. This US infection of the law paved the way for their fabrications in Operation Ore where an allegation alone was enough for a conviction.

That is not to say that all of the reforms have been dangerous. On the contrary, many are to be welcomed, yet those that are suspect tend to create difficulties that eclipse such progress.

Another stalwart defender of Blair’s Britain was the equally disturbing Charles Clarke MP the UK government’s Interior minister who was at pains to tell the European Union that in his view the: “The judges both in my country and in the European Court need to understand that the people of Europe ... will not for a long time accept that action cannot be taken against people who are offering a real threat to our way of life because of human rights considerations,…”4 This kind of para-moralism is reminiscent of the same kind of Neo-Con “they hate us for our freedoms” nonsense so often repeated as a blanket rebuttal for genuine concerns for civil liberties. Once a train is set in motion without an ounce of objectivity to regulate the speed, the train is prone to smash through any barrier of common sense that is erected in its path, especially when financial dividends are involved and actively encouraged.

The National Criminal Intelligence Service said in its annual report in 2003 that “more than half of the child porn sites are hosted in the United States” and that “…the number of sites coming from Russia has doubled in the past year.” Evangelistic crusades are being encouraged, whipping up a great deal of emotion covering up little factual data. Child pornography figures in some quarters have been massively overblown or in some cases plucked out of thin air. According to reports from within the US last year a 300 percent rise in internet paedophilia may indicate both a new phenomena in terms of utilizing a new technology for predation but which also reinforces the mythology and lies designed to keep such dynamics firmly in place.

There is a moral paranoia continuing in the States where truth is continually marginalised in favour of both a misplaced Puritanism sourced from the population at large as well as a more insidious process. Invention is the name of the game and if a new crisis is needed then child porn can be used as a “double-bind.” Reverse psychology becomes the method to distance the real culprits from such activities. As one journalist recently remarked:  “What an irony if the only readily available child porn on the Internet is being maintained by the police and the self-appointed monitors!” 5

On the evening of January 17 2005, Sky News in the UK reported on the false evidence used by the UK police in Operation Ore. The evidence of corruption was overwhelming. It remains to be seen if any action will be taken against the police. The sanctity of the police as protector and social confidante is about as far away from reality as it is possible to be. Some men and women in law enforcement know this very well yet few speak out.

It is likely that much of the child pornography within societies today are produced and distributed underground through an informal but loose-knit networks of paedophiles operating in most European countries. Sporadic outbreaks of paedophilia rings and other forms of sexual abuse within neighbourhoods and families do and will occur. However, with the astonishing rise in child trafficking and clear indications of institutionalized paedophilia, child pornography as a multi-billion dollar industry may be, purposely exaggerated. Nevertheless, as a strand in the overall industry of exploitation where billions are indeed accrued, it remains a connected reality, the dividends logically set to increase.

Michael Heimbach, head of the FBI’s Crimes Against Children Unit believes sexual deviants “have a real innate need to communicate with others…and sharing experiences, it’s a psychological support base, It makes them say, ‘I’m not so weird. There are a lot of other people out there that like the same thing I do’’” The current case Heimbach was describing involved “An underground ring of adults who created and trafficked in pornographic videos of naked children being beaten with paddles, hairbrushes and canes.” The “loose-knit” group called the “Spanking Club” were said to have brutally beaten children as young as 4 years old. The club was seen as being influenced and encouraged by the availability of porn and internet chat-rooms where an exchange of fantasies and photos took place. 6

The more disturbing link with organised pornography, trafficking and/or child abuse which leads to the front door of the Establishment, remains inscrutable and unsurprisingly - cast iron. We see innocent men and women placed in prison or caused to take their own lives. The unfortunate reality is that high level paedophiles remain above the law. It is also likely that most of the real child porn that does exist is so far underground that it is alongside the impassable domain of the snuff movie where information is almost impossible to come by.

The discovery of crimes that may have been continuing undetected for decades are now frequently being seen via the relative “safety” of a closed system known as Internet Relay Chat - IRC - which requires participants to log in using passwords. And many of the paedophiles in question are no amateurs. They can be extremely competent with encryption usage and various other technical ways to utilize avoiding entrapment.

The vast majority of stings are carried out by the enormous stores of child nudity and erotica that under the laws of the US and increasingly Europe are deemed obscene. This material may also serve as a means to entrap people for private extortion. It is always the case that witch hunts generally begin from a reaction by those in power to protect their own ivory towers as was the case with the Waterhouse and Cullen enquiries. One can all too easily reel in righteous and understandable shock at the notion of predators preying on children with a glut of horrific downloadable photos threatening to submerge the search engines. But is this the reality? Or has the reflex of paedophilia and child pornography come to represent anything but a fight against injustice? And what of the recent ruling from US Pathocrats that effectively all porn is child porn? 7

The Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act also known as “2257” now requires adult porn or erotica companies to keep detailed records proving that all the models they use are over the age of 18. These records will also contain the real names of performers, and their addresses too which have to be published somewhere online. It does not take a huge leap of logic to realize that this could leave some persons - such as women operating webcam shows from their homes - open to stalking and harassment. Moreover, all sites coming under the new law are required to have their address clearly accessible to all in order to indicate their “place of business.” To avoid fines and jail terms persons must keep “proper records” under the new version of 2257 where all files that contain every single pornographic or erotic image and film published, must be cross-indexed with age-verification papers for every single performer that features in the stills or movies. This is a huge undertaking meaning massive overhauls for businesses hard drives, the records of which must be kept for seven years. The porn business is up in arms over the law claiming that it curtails significant freedoms. As the same report states: “…they have vast numbers of addresses to punch into their super computer for listing undesirables…. the Patriot Act was used to prosecute people for offences that were not terrorist offences shortly after it became law.”
    8, 9

Of course, we needn’t shed tears over porn brokers rights being breached. But it doesn’t stop there. We can easily forget how sneaky these new acts and waiting executive laws really are and how they primed and ready to dispense with all constitutional rights. As former director of UK civil rights organization and now a much needed voice as Deputy Chair of the new Independent Police Complaints Commission, John Wadham mentioned recently: “I recall an occasion attempting to argue that even alleged sex offenders have human rights, when confronted by the devastated mother of a child murdered by a sex offender.” 10  Not an easy prospect, which is why child porn and public pornography in general could be another vehicle used to initiate a comprehensive lock-down on freedoms.

But the genuine Russian-led examples of their burgeoning networks are a reality as are some of the isolated European instances of exploitation including the recent arrest of five suspects in the Spanish cities of Madrid, Murcia, Lerida and Valencia. One man was charged with abducting, raping and abusing babies as young as 11 months while the others were charged with filming and distributing images of the abuse on the Internet. 11 Or the British man and father jailed for raping a baby with a sentence that was clearly far too lenient. 12 Both cases were proven examples that child molestation is a reality. This is the nature of the perfect double bind. Yet there are further “politically correct” rulings that funnel more chaos into an already charged domain.

Take the 2004 ruling in the Italian high court that paedophiles can take pornographic photos of children as long as they are not sold for profit. In other words, child porn you can share and perpetrate acts of child porn as long as you do not charge for viewing the material - it is legal. The report goes on to say “…that the Court of Cassation in Rome upheld the acquittal by a court in Turin of Antonio B., 45, over photographs that he took when he forced a youth of 13 to carry out sexual acts.”13 There are small clues in the above that included “forced” “sexual acts” and “profit.” One wonders what thoughts processes are running through those whose directives one would hope, are first and foremost protect the interests of children.

Similarly, Canada’s BC provincial court also came to the conclusion that possession of child porn represented a clear self-imposed boundary that would not be transgressed by those who chose to view such pornography. A court in Oregon believed a law that prohibited adults from giving minors sexually explicit materials violated the Oregon Constitution’s free speech protections.

There is, as we shall see, a huge difference between an individual who has murdered a child with evidence that is clear and present and an individual who has been surfing for adult porn. This is the reality surrounding much of the prosecutions focused around child pornography. But in such an emotive arena, all manner of forces that are vying for control have very little to do with liberty, least of all for the rights of the child. In effect, child pornography - while certainly encompassing very real predatory beings intent on using the internet to search for prey - is now a term that is used by law enforcement agencies to cover a multitude of sins extending to arts and basic pornography – regardless of its morality.

After this brief snapshot of child pornography rings mostly operated via the internet what we are unfortunately seeing here is the lower tier end of a problem and little action taken against those whose who partake in such crimes the reason being they are part of the judiciary, politics, police and even welfare services. Psychopaths, paedophiles and child molesters are drawn into these professions and the higher the person’s status is, the more he is likely to be protected. Let us keep in mind that in 2004 and 2005, three young children were killed by sex offenders. Congress immediately reacted and passed the most unconstitutional Child Abuse laws in the history of the USA. Yet while the figures for the prevalence for sexual abuse remains contentious and unresolved, you can bet that the horrendous figures for physical abuse, drug abuse, gang related crime and drunk-driving deaths of children on the roads barely gets a mention. This isn’t “sexy” or salacious though, is it? This doesn’t get the voyeuristic and self-righteous juices flowing. Meanwhile, the financial, business and political “Elite” can play the “knight in shining armour” while indulging in the very practices they apparently eschew.

Inflating or even taking advantage of a rise in child pornography online could lead to a comprehensive ban on extreme examples of porn and finally pornography itself. For the masses that is. The tool of child pornography will serve as a prelude to more extreme forms of “crimes against the state.” We may look for a gradual fusion between dissidents, al-Qaeda and the “War on Terror” so that internet surveillance can be comprehensively tightened. The dawn raids of Landslide/Ore and other trawling and entrapment operations that ruined so many lives may well be the first stage in quelling any kind of dissidence of the near future. Criticism of the US government and Homeland Security is perceived as Bush’s line: “if you’re not with us you’re with the terrorists.” In many American minds the sex offender and terrorist is more or less one and the same as in this Georgian State legislator’s opinion: “Sex offenders are the most reviled people in society… They're one step above terrorists; there's no political downside to cracking down on these folks.” It is then that we realise the true extent of Neo-fascism and the depth of ponerization that is now occurring. In Britain, the “surveillance society” is well and truly here.

One of the idea’s floated by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre When children are so bombarded by images and thoughts that are effectively splitting their minds in two, what better way to turn them into “spy kids” for the emerging Pathocracy in Europe and the US? This is the crux of the matter: to make people so dependent and reliant on the police states and their largely phantom fears so that children feel compelled to turn their own parent’s in. “There are 9.5 million school-kids in the UK. Imagine if we could get them all to save the Ceop centre’s website to their favourites box so that whenever they are online they can fill in a form telling us who they are talking to, what (those people) are saying and why they think it is a threat.” 13

The UK is the most spied-on country in the world according to a recent official report. We are being scrutinized and data-mined with minute details of our lives recorded without ever being aware of it. A typical Briton will be caught on camera more than 300 times a day. The report highlighted concern over records kept of every internet site we visit and the long-term retention of logs detailing those visits to the growing use of automatic number plate recognition to track people’s journeys. A typical Briton will be caught on camera over  300 times a day. One example sited in the study showed how easily the climate of paedophilia panic was eroding normal life. A schoolgirl’s playground banter:
“…resulted in her father being refused work because he had been classed as a suspected paedophile. ‘The little girl was overheard saying, ‘My dad bonked me last night’. A dinner lady heard this and reported it to the school authorities,’… Social services discovered that the girl was referring to her father tapping her playfully on the head with an inflatable hammer. The file was closed, but five years later the father discovered he was still a suspected sex offender.”14

A suspected sex offender, subversive, dissident, terrorist – there are no limits to the labels ready to be given to the public to protect us from all manner of bogeymen. After all, this is all for our own protection right? The near future will give us the answer.
