Man Films Shooting Himself In Face Because Social Media’s Gone Too Far

Comment: Idiocracy is frighteningly real. You can only feel pity for someone so bereft of meaning in their life that they will seek fame by any means.

Unilad

The Internet has thrown up some downright stupid social media crazes in its time – from the iron liver challenge to the condom challenge – but we’ve officially reached peak idiocy now that people are actually pointing guns at their own faces.

Yes, that’s right – a shocking new Facebook and YouTube video shows the moment a man willingly shoots himself through his own cheek, swallows the bullet, and then laughs it off.

“Did it hurt bad?” asks the person behind the camera, to which this absolute nutter responds simply, “Yeah,” before noting “Fuck, I don’t give a fuck about nothing anymore,” while spitting out blood.

9 facts about society that should shock and disturb us, but instead we view as normal

CS Globe

When you take a moment and look around at the world, things can seem pretty messed up. Take 5 or 10 minutes and watch the 6 o'clock news.

Chances are, the entire time, all you are going to see is war, conflict, death, illness, etc.

Sure, this is part of the mainstream media's content strategy to sell drama and keep people focused on it, but besides that, it reveals something real about the current state of our world.

I believe Michael Ellner said it well in his quote: "Just look at us. Everything is backwards, everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, psychiatrists destroy minds, scientists destroy truth, major media destroys information, religions destroy spirituality and governments destroy freedom."

Now obviously Ellner's quote is a simplified way of looking at our current state, but in many ways it's bang on.

Most of what we do in the name of "good" ends up destroying something else in the process and is passed off mainly in the name of profit.

We've seen over and over again how our ways have brought us to a point where we are destroying everything in our path, so the question must be asked, isn't it time for change?

Do you love your job?

Are you caught up in the Society Trap' ? Things don't have to be the way they are. It's up to us to change the way we live.

Don't be part of a machine, be unique and express yourself as an individual.

Are we fully capable, honest, and determined enough to look at our past, where our actions and thought-patterns have brought us to this point, and now do something completely different in order to restore balance?

The people over at The Free World Charter believe it's time for that and have put together a list of facts about society we oddly accept as normal.
9 Facts About Our Society That We Oddly Accept As Normal

WE PRIORITIZE MONEY AND THE ECONOMY OVER BASICS LIKE AIR, WATER, FOOD QUALITY, OUR ENVIRONMENT, AND OUR COMMUNITIES.

WE UTILIZE AN ECONOMIC TRADING SYSTEM THAT FACILITATES THE DEATH OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE EACH YEAR.

WE DIVIDE THE WORLD'S LAND INTO SECTIONS AND THEN FIGHT OVER WHO OWNS THESE SECTIONS.

WE CALL SOME PEOPLE "SOLDIERS" WHICH MAKES IT OK FOR THEM TO KILL OTHER PEOPLE.

WE TORTURE AND KILL MILLIONS OF ANIMALS EVERY DAY NEEDLESSLY FOR FOOD, CLOTHING, AND EXPERIMENTS.

WE SEND CHILDREN TO SCHOOL FOR THEIR ENTIRE CHILDHOOD TO MEMORIZE FACTS AND SKILLS THAT THEY WILL RARELY USE.

WE IMPOSE FINANCIAL PRESSURES ON PARENTS, FORCING THEM TO MISS OUT ON VITAL STAGES OF THEIR CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT.

WE HAVE THOUSANDS OF RELIGIONS, EACH ONE BELIEVING THAT THEIR GOD OR GOD-STORY IS THE ONLY TRUE AND UNIQUE VERSION.

LOVE AND COMPASSION, WHICH PROMOTE LIFE, ARE MOCKED AS FACILE. WHEREAS WAR, WHICH HARMS LIFE, IS SEEN AS HONORABLE.

Michel Drac Entretien sur son livre Crise ou coup d'Etat / Michel Drac Interview: On his book "Crisis or Coup"

Comment: Fascinating interview with Michel Drac from 2009. He is one of the few to come very close to describing ponerology, by highlighting the "crisis of meaning" and focusing on the influence of psychopathology as the primary cause.  The process of its emergence he calls: "encoding reality" which, I believe, is essentially the replacement of the psychopath's reality with those of normal psychology or we might say, those with conscience.

Though Drac doesn't seem to have been exposed to the ideas of ponerology first introduced to us by psychologist Andrew M. Lobaczewski and his book Political Ponerology, he comes very close to offering similar insights albeit from the direction of economics/political science. I think if Drac digested Lobaczewski's book his work on "encoding," would be enormously enriched and he would undoubtedly be able to take his insights to the next level.

As so often happens, many academics when faced with this implacable reality of institutional psychopathy encoded within our social systems, run back into supposedly safer intellectual cul de sacs. I hope this is not the case with Drac.

Transcript in English, (translated by Fred Andres)

You Published in 2009 "CRISIS OR COUP" on the Global Economic Crisis. Can you summarise for those who have not read it, the content of the book? Michel, you are a graduate from the Ecole de Commerce, co-founder of the internet website scriptoblog.com and a former member of Egalite & Reconciliation. You're also an essayist.

Yes, this is simply a book that explains that there are two crises: a visible crisis that has been widely relayed in the media which is the so-called sub-prime crisis and so on. And then behind it there is a another crisis which is much deeper, a crisis of the Western model faced to the rise of other poles of power at a geostrategic level.

What I explain in "Crisis or Coup", it is that in reality the sub-prime crisis and all the events that took place between mid-2007 and mid-2009 corresponded to the way the oligarchies wanted to organise through the visible crisis, their management of the real crisis that is behind and which we do not see, and that is a much broader crisis of the Western world model in its entirety and of globalisation.

Today, You're back with "ECONOMIC CRISIS OR CRISIS OF MEANING". What led you to expand your thinking and ask yourself the question of the crisis of meaning?

When I finished "Crisis or Coup", I'd finished my work from a purely macro-economic angle but I realised there was still a pending question: "Why do our oligarchies feel the need to manage things as they do?"

In other words, in "Crisis or Coup", I explained the how but didn't explained the why.

It is quite clear now that we have a ruling class that is currently organising the centralisation of power, that doesn't manage the situation in a perspective that seems logical in the long run, even in terms of its own power.

Well, we can analyse it, we can explain it, we can show that this is the case.

But the question is why do they do what they do?

Why do they behave like this?

There are quantities of possible explanations: they can be found a dime a dozen on Internet or in bookshops.

First, there are the conspiracy explanations. There's something for everyone: Jewish conspiracy, Masonic conspiracy, the Skulls and Bones, or the Jesuits -I have even read that!- etc...

This is not entirely untrue, there actually are conspiracies, for sure: History is made of conspiracies.

Obviously, there are pressure groups, lobbies, obviously there are secret interests or partially hidden interests that act out in the shadow and this explains part of the events.

But all these explanations did not satisfy me.

There is a pro-Israel lobby in the United States and Europe, that is obvious. That this lobby acts at least partially in coordination with certain forces of high finance, that too is obvious...

But we can clearly see as soon as we study this matter a little closer that said coordination is not perfect, far from it: David Rockefeller is not a Jew, Zbigniew Brzezinski is probably not a Jew, the interests of some globalists' circles are now coming into collision with those of Israel: we understand that the Jewish conspiracy and so on, all the great theories of conspiracy around the Jewish world can cover some elements of reality. But it is not a main factor for explaining.

Another theory: the conspiracy of the "rich" the plot of the super-class.

The Skulls and Bones, Yale, the circles of high finance, you combine all that, you mix it all up... It isn't wrong either, it does exist.

Skulls and Bones, that exists.

The Yale University networks, those too exist.

The hyper-class networks, they exist.

But why would those people be united while also competing in so many areas?

How could they form such a homogeneous group when in reality their interests are divergent in many theatres of operations?

Which ones for instance?

For instance, if we take the so-called hyper-class and then the actual head of this group: several thousand individuals and families who actually, in practise, own much of the world. Why should the great German upper-class and the great British upper-class necessarily make common cause?

The great British upper-class relies on the City, the great German upper-class relies on the industry. The interests of the City and the interests of German industry are not necessarily the same.

Today for example, we have a very clear case in the United States with the coexistence inside the Obama administration of people like Rahm Emanuel who are clearly in the pro-Israel lobby and on the other hand a more or less occult adviser like Brzezinski who has recently said that if Israeli warplanes flew over Iraq to bomb Iran, they should be taken down.

So we see that the supposed homogeneity of these environments does not work, it's more complicated than that.

And then, reflecting on this basis, I also thought: should we always blame these small groups that are at the top and manipulate everyone?

It is true that these groups manipulate everyone, it is true that they are driving a certain number of changes that cause disasters... But they are not the only culprits .

Just doing a little poll around yourself will show you that the average Joe too often also participates to the disaster.

How often shall we meet, let's say the typical middle-class fellow, slavishly repeating what he has read in L'Express or in Le Point?

Why does he slavishly repeat?

How come he doesn't analyse critically what he reads?

Probably, the cause of all causes behind all these developments, the mechanisms behind what I described in "Crisis or Coup ", at the end, it's a crisis of Meaning.

In reality, this is the beginning of the implosion of how to construct Meaning.

Meaning is the information processed by an autonomous subject.

The definition of the general structure of Meaning is: you look around you, you have a lot of information, you extract some of the information, you filter it, categorise the items you have filtered, place them on axles, articulate these axles and this is how you're going to create Meaning.

That's how it works.

What is true for the individual brain is also true for the collective brain.

Somehow we could by analogy -even if it isn't all that accurate- represent human society like a human body with practical features: well, restaurants are like mouths, fields have a function of transformation of matter for nutritional purposes, it's like a gut in some way, and then when you climb on top, the global information system built by society, the information and Meaning-making system is like a global brain.

How does the global brain of Western society work?

When you create Meaning, if you take a book of philosophy, it'll explain that there are basically three ways to understand the process by which one creates Meaning.

If you take a classical philosophy course, they'll tell you, you can be an automist Aristotelian and consider that Meaning resides somehow in the world of Ideas and that it descends into Matter so we perceive it, in a way.

One can also be liberal, let's say, or modern, in a certain sense, modern in a rather liberal way, and consider that Meaning does not exist in the world. That Meaning is put on the world by the human eye.

Then one can also be, let's say, Hegelian -there is an issue that would be very long to develop which is in this case, whether you would definitely have to be Marxist, we won't develop this issue here- and consider that there is Meaning in Matter and that when we formulate it, we do not invent it, we discover it.

The global brain of Western societies today works the modern liberal way. It is the look of Man that gives Meaning to the world and it is the functioning of the global brain of Western society in a way, that creates the common shared Meaning.

It refers to no transcendence.

Neither is it dialectic.

It isn't really materialism in the true philosophical sense -it would seem materialistic in the common sense of the word but in the philosophical sense, it isn't really materialistic.

The global brain of Western societies spends its time encoding reality to create Meaning which is then attributed to Matter.

What is contemporary capitalism?

That and nothing else.

And this encoding process is achieved after a long evolution in history, a very complicated one -I won't detail it here- it is basically done through money, through the monetary signifier.

When studying a little history -particularly the history of empires- the modus operandi of this particular structure that is the empire, we realise that throughout history, an empire always tends to encode reality to register it in its system of representation.

And throughout history, at some point, what happens is that the empire in some way saturates its capacities of encoding reality.

So it begins to do what I called in the book over-coding. Which means that since it can no longer encode reality, no longer apply Meaning over reality, it will begin to create encoding territories beyond reality.

And this is what has been going on in the West in the last few decades.

Feminism is initially a rather understandable demand from women, mainly middle to upper class women, who have the time to ask themselves questions and express demands: they want to be able to think for themselves.

They're right as a matter of fact.

Very quickly, it's harnessed, seized upon by the system -especially in the English-speaking world- and it becomes a machine to enrol women in the process of monetary circulation.

The -somehow- funniest example is the famous case of Edward Bernays filming suffragettes lighting up cigarettes.

So the official version is that it's for the emancipation of women and so on.

The real version is not that at all.

It's: then, women are going to smoke and increase the turnover of the tobacco companies -I can't recall which one paid Bernays- and the whole story of women's lib over the last fifty years if we analyse it in terms of economics, it is essentially this: this is how we will encode this land so far unknown by the coding system -actually promoted by men- and that corresponds when properly analysed to a typical male logic: "how do we encode the unknown feminine land?"

Let's take an example, so pathetic it is both tragic and funny at the same time: the carbon tax.

Well, the carbon tax, as a matter of fact, if you push the logic to its limits, it means they'll charge you for the air you breathe .

So, pushing the logic to its limits, once a month they'll measure your lung capacity and tell you "Sir, you consume that much oxygen, so you reject that much carbon dioxide, so we'll charge you that much."

If we analyse what it means, it means we have created some GDP!

Fortunately, they won't go that far, I don't think so. But if they did, they'd tell you they've created "growth", in quotes.

What is growth?

Is it the growth of material economy?

Is it the growth of life?

Is it the growth of production?

No.

It's the growth of encoded territory.

Why all these groups they tell us about would they be pushed to work together so naturally if they are competitors?
This may be because they live by and for the encoding process.

That means there's a fraction of the global brain of Western society that has totally disconnected from the rest.
That seeks to take control of the rest.

It has a name: it's called schizophrenia.

The global brain of the West is suffering from schizophrenia, split personality, and the alter ego is trying to take control of the body, of the being in its totality.

So why is there crisis of Meaning?

Because we're coming to the moment where this process reaches its limits.

Now it is clear that the system is facing its internal contradictions, that it can no longer go beyond them.

In order to evermore uncover territories to encode, it mistreats ever so more reality.

To give things value, it will create paupers, so for the rich, things will appear to be more valuable to them.

What we must understand, it is that in order to encode, to create value, you can push people to consume, but you can also stop them from consuming, while giving them the desire of consumption.

This allows to extend the territory of symbolic encoding in a way, without having to extend the territory of actual encoding.

So the crisis of Meaning simply means that this process of encoding and over-coding has come to its logical conclusion, and that in order to save what constitutes their substance -ie the encoding itself- the ruling classes, in a kind of forward escape, somewhat desperate but very dangerous, put themselves in a position to impose the social body something that allows the system to live on and this is a phenomenon that has been studied by psychiatrists -particularly by psychiatrists experts in collective psychopathology- which is paraphrenia.

Roughly speaking, paraphrenia is about -now we're talking in terms of collective psychopathology- creating a declared world, a coded world, a spoken world, which is almost totally disconnected from the real world and within which the group will continue to hold fast to the image it has of itself.

So I gave an example in the book: ENRON.

ENRON is very iconic.

Well, it's a company that really, in the field of productive economy is..... ruined.

The story of ENRON is quite funny actually because virtually everything they did in the area of reality has failed!
Whether it's a power-plant in India: it fails.

They try to manage electricity in California, even before they sabotage it: it fails.

And so on and so forth.

It doesn't stop.

But the ENRON board don't want to simply admit that in the real world, their stuff implodes.

Those guys, it's their substance.

Jeffrey Skilling, the CFO, it's his substance.

If he admits that ENRON is the most mismanaged company in the U.S, he's dead.

So he just won't admit it.

They actually created a kind of ENRON mythology, when they came to congratulate themselves for shutting off the power for the greatest American State, although they're supposed to be electricity suppliers... There are recordings, audio tapes of ENRON traders conversations during major blackouts in California, it's unbelievable: the guys are overwhelmed with joy, because they bring money, in fact they bring the code -the encoding- and it doesn't matter that in reality they're destroying everything.

And I believe that ultimately what we're witnessing today, beyond the actions of all the many and varied lobbies toiling on, it's that.

Meaning that it's all of the West that is in fact becoming ENRON.

And when we see the current spectacle with States that lend to insolvent banks with rates close to nought and banks that lend to bankrupted States at rates of ten percent, what we have is an encoding system gone mad, that has transgressed from reality, which no longer refers to anything else than itself, that somehow develops its being in total schizophrenia -almost in autism- and devouring reality.

So the over-coding has reached a point where in order to continue growing, not only does it saturate reality, not only does it invent parallel worlds, but in addition, it must destroy -it must swallow up- reality.

It is a collective psychopathology, this is basically how I analyse the current crisis.

This crisis of meaning, how far can  it go if it isn't in fact to the destruction of real economy as a whole?

Unfortunately, there is no reason for things to unfold in a different manner here. That is the story of the coming years, if the logic is respected. Then, I'm no prophet, I don't know for sure. But if the logic is respected, as it is the substance of those people that are part of this system of over-coding, as they can't think reality independently from that over-coding, they'll continue to save the coding and over-coding at all costs, even if it destroys reality.

For example, what we should see in my opinion is the phenomenon now happening in Greece should occur in a great State, at a date that cannot be specified -it could be in a few months, it could be in a few years.

It could be Spain, it could be England, it could even downright be the United States, and at that time, well we'll be at the crucial point: whether the system continues to race ahead to the end and it's Hitler, fascism at the scale of the Western world, or they do like the Soviet elite at the end of the Brejniev era: they consider that, fair enough, everything is collapsing and so we step in a period of anomie, where undoubtedly the implosion of the encoding and over-coding system will leave a largely impoverished society, with little ability to organise itself, and one or two very difficult decades ahead.

Societies like the Indian or Chinese societies or others, are they affected by this crisis of meaning or not?

In my opinion, and at least seen from a distance and from the books I've read, what actually happens is that China is going through its equivalent of our postwar boom.

Meaning, they're in the phase where the encoding is maximised. They have not yet reached -or at least not massively- territories of over-coding and they are not yet -that's for sure- at the stage of gobbling up reality in order to save some over-coding. So, although there is no reason why it should be different for them, as they're -let's say- half a century behind, they still have some nice decades ahead of them.

And we in the West, do we have tools to fight against this crisis of meaning?

To exit a crisis of Meaning, the only way is to rebuild Meaning.

Rebuilding Meaning means we have to admit that the way we use to build it is obsolete.

In clear, it means getting out of what I was talking about earlier: that modern vision, somewhat liberal of the construction of Meaning. So that means admitting at some point: "No, it is not the look of Man that gives Meaning to the world."

I use in my book an image that is taken from Goethe's Faust: Mephistopheles will obtain the soul of Faust if Faust asks at some point the suspension of time. So for Faust to request the suspension of time, he brings Faust to the Walpurgis Night -in short, a satanic orgy.

What will save Faust is that in the middle of the Walpurgis Night, he'll remember Margaret. Margaret, that's the feminine archetype and so on.

Right now, we live the Walpurgis Night.

We're right in the heart of it.

And I don't see many people who will remember Margaret.

Indigenous Amazonian Child Burned to Death by Loggers

Stephen Messenger

For decades, the lush Amazon rainforest in Brazil has served as the backdrop to escalating tensions between an indigenous population which calls the region home, and illegal loggers dead-set on exploiting its natural wealth -- though the worst of the resulting atrocities may be at hand. According to a representative from the Guajajara community in northeastern Brazil, a group of illegal loggers recently captured a young indian girl from a neighboring uncontacted tribe and burned her to death.

A local indigenous leader in the Brazilian state of Maranhão recently spoke with Terra regarding the incident which has yet to be confirmed by authorities, though video of the young girl's murder is said to exist. The representative said that the loggers who frequent his tribe's reservation area to arrange the illegal clearing of timber are often abusive, but that recently the outsiders inexplicably murdered a child they found belonging to another indigenous community.

"The loggers were buying wood in the hands of the [Guajajara] Indians and found a little girl [from the tribe Gwajá]. And they burned the child. It was just pure evilness. She is from another tribe, they live in the woods, and have no contact with white people," said the Guajajara leader.

He went on to add that indians are frequently beaten by loggers encroaching upon their reservations and that so far local police and government officials have turned a blind eye to the abuses.

Authorities from Brazil's indian affairs bureau, FUNAI, say that they've been made aware of the murder and are seeking more information, yet the incident is hardly an isolated case. The same agency acknowledges that from 2003 to 2010, 452 indigenous people were murdered in Brazil, though the actual number could be much higher given the intimidation often faced by isolated indian communities from outside threats.

Jon Ronson on The Psychopath Test

Certainly not the first, nor will he be the last to arrive at this vital understanding. See Political Ponerology to go into much greater depth ....

1. How did you come to write The Psychopath Test

I don't put it in the book, but I met a woman called Mary Turner Thomson. In fact I made a radio documentary about her.  If you want to hear the show and not know the twists, do skip past the next part.

Mary married a man she met while internet dating. He worked for the CIA, so he'd often vanish for months, to Jenin, or wherever. After years of this Mary discovered he didn't work for the CIA. He was a bigamist and when he was "in Jenin" he was actually at his other family's house down the road.

Two things really struck me about the story. First, when I asked her if she felt hurt by him, she said, "No.He's a sociopath. It's not personal. Does the wildebeest take it personally when it's being chased by the lion? No. It's their nature."

And, second, I talked to a Harvard psychologist named Martha Stout who said that his condition – psychopathy, or sociopathy, or whatever you want to call it – is prevalent in the rulers of our world. The wars, the economic injustice, she said; a great deal of it is initiated by sociopaths. Their brain anomaly is so powerful it has remoulded society all wrong.

This struck me as such a huge thought, I kept wondering if I could verify it. Could I become a professional psychopath spotter and journey into the corridors of power?

2. What was most difficult about it?

I had polemicists on both sides desperately trying to get me to write from their ideological viewpoint.  On the one hand, I had Scientologists and Scientology fellow travelers who believed psychiatry and the pharmaceutical industry was corrupt to the core. On the other hand I had the psychiatry mainstream, who basically felt that anyone who disagreed with them was nuts. So I was being pulled hither and thither about topics like mental health labelling and checklist-diagnoses. Were they useful or tyrannical?

Trying to work out what I actually thought about this ate me up for about a year, although I think in the end I reached a place I felt comfortable with. Sometimes labelling is only useful, like with OCD. Once you're labelled you can be treated. On other occasions labelling leads to tyranny, like with childhood bipolar disorder in the US. And when it comes to psychopaths - the checklist I discovered is onto something, but it can turn practitioners like me power-crazed.

3. What did you most enjoy?

It's an honour to get to go to mysterious places, like Broadmoor, although when I told a nurse at Broadmoor how honoured I felt to be there, he looked at me startled, and said, "We've got a spare bed if you like".

4. How long did it take?

Two years.

5. What has changed for you since it was first published?

It's made it harder for me to write about the mental health world, because it's a world I understand better now, and I can only write about a world that's a mystery to me. Trying to solve the mystery is what I enjoy most about writing. Now, since Them and The Men Who Stare At Goats and The Psychopath Test, it's harder for me to write about conspiracies or the paranormal or the mental health world.

6. Who's your favourite writer?

Maybe Kazuo Ishiguro? Or Paul Auster?

7. What are your other inspirations?

Werner Herzog and Errol Morris documentaries. Sceptical podcasts like The Skeptics Guide to the Universe. Radio shows like This American Life and Radiolab.

8. Give us a writing tip.

Discover the time of day when you write best, and write then. For me it's about 7am to noon. For other people it's overnight. Try not to do anything other than write between those times.

 9.  What, if anything, would you do differently if you were starting the book again?

That question can drive you mad. It's best not to think about it.

10. What are you working on now?

A new book. And also a film screenplay that's hopefully going into production next year. And a new series of my Radio 4 series Jon Ronson On... And an internet documentary series called Esc&Ctrl. And more features for the Guardian.

How to Act Like a Psychopath without Really Trying [Excerpt]

Psychopaths are usually egocentric and often experience
little guilt or remorse for their actions

Scientific American

John Whitfield

People who don't care - or don't need to care - what others think of them show how crucial reputation is to civilization. Understanding it could reduce crime, improve ethical behavior and rein in Wall Street excesses

About one in every 100 people doesn't care what others think of him. These people are hard to spot. They are usually physically healthy, and their intelligence is often above average. Yet, in the words of one psychiatrist, they lie without compunction, cheat, steal, and casually violate any and all norms of social conduct whenever it suits their whim. They have no concern for others' suffering, no remorse when caught, and punishment does little to change them. They are called psychopaths.

Mental-health professionals have usually treated psychopathic behavior as a disorder - a large proportion of the prison population, after all, has been diagnosed with some version of the trait. But viewed from an evolutionary angle, psychopathy looks more like a feature than a bug. Most people are cooperative, trusting and generous. This pays off in the long term. It also creates an opening for those who would rather prey on society than join it.

A psychopath's deceitful, manipulative, and callous nature equips him (it's several times more likely to be a "him") to fill this niche. Psychopaths' deficit is in empathy, not reason. They understand morality, but they are immune to other people's emotions. There aren't many openings for psychopaths, because if there were lots of them, there would be no society to plunder. Evolutionary biologists call this frequency dependence: it means that the rarer a trait becomes, the more it pays off. This advantage when rare makes the trait more common, which reduces its advantage. The effect is to keep multiple traits in balance. Sex is one example of frequency dependence: if males were more common than females, they would be less likely to find a mate, so it would pay to have female offspring, pushing the sex ratio back toward equality. Similarly, mathematical models suggest that if antisocial behavior is rare enough, it can prosper.

"By Imbeciles Who Really Mean It": Lost Verities and Dirty Hippies

ICH
By Phil Rockstroh

Regardless of the dissembling of corporate state propagandists, free market capitalism has always been a government subsidized, bubble-inflating, swindlers' game, in which, psychopathic personalities (not “job creators” but con job perpetrators) thrive. By the exploitation of the many, a ruthless few have amassed large amounts of capital by which they dominate mainstream narratives and compromise elected and governmental officials, thereby gaming the system for their benefit.

Historically, the system has proven so demeaning to the majority of the population that the elite, from time to time, have, as a last resort, due to fear of a popular uprising, introduced a bit of socialism into the system, allowing a modicum of swag to funnel downward, and, as a result, the ranks of the middle class have been expanded. For a time, the bourgeoisie are bamboozled by the sales pitch that one day they will be affluent enough to be freed from the taxing obligations of a dismal, debt-beholden existence, when, in fact, they sowed their fate (like those swindled by opening their bank accounts after receiving email from parties claiming to be momentarily cash-strapped Nigerian royalty) by their own greed i.e. by their self-imprisonment within their own narrow, self-serving view of existence.

These stultifying circumstances will level an atmosphere of restiveness and nebulous rage. In general, the middle class can be counted on to detest the poor…blaming those born devoid of societal advantage and political influence for the impoverished circumstances that were in place long before the happenstance of their birth. Moreover, in a bit of noxious casuistry, as despicable as it is delusional, all too many members of the middle class have been induced by grift artists, employed by the ruling elite, to blame their own declining social status and attendant beleaguered existence on the poor.

"Be thine own palace, or the world's thy jail." --John Donne

This has proven to be an effective, time-tested grift: Because as long as the animus of the middle class remains fixated on the poor, the criminal cartels known as the economic elite can continue to ply their trade. Of course, in reality, by their greed and complicity, what the middle class has gained is this: trustee status in the capitalist workhouse.

Time to Test Corporate Leaders to Weed out Psychopaths

"Killing the world economy"? How about creating the world economy as it stands today? Geeze...

Axis of Logic

Shark-like, they rise fast but risk killing the world economy, concludes a business professor.

One per cent of humans: Not murderously insane, just
devoid of empathy and ultimately destructive.

Given the state of the global economy, it might not surprise you to learn that psychopaths may be controlling the world. Not violent criminals, but corporate psychopaths who nonetheless have a genetically-inherited biochemical condition that prevents them from feeling normal human empathy.

Scientific research is revealing that 21st century financial institutions with a high rate of turnover and expanding global power have become highly attractive to psychopathic individuals to enrich themselves at the expense of others, and the companies they work for.

A peer-reviewed theoretical paper from 2011 titled "The Corporate Psychopaths Theory of the Global Financial Crisis" details how highly-placed psychopaths in the banking sector may have nearly brought down the world economy through their own inherent inability to care about the consequences of their actions.

The author of this paper, Clive Boddy, previously of Nottingham Trent University, believes this theory would go a long way to explain how senior managers acted in ways that were disastrous for the institutions they worked for, the investors they represented and the global economy at large.

If true, this also means the astronomically expensive public bailouts will not solve the problem since many of the morally impaired individuals who caused this mess likely remain in positions of power. Worse, they may be the same people advising governments on how to resolve this crisis.

To tackle this problem, we must instead examine this rare and curious condition, and why recent corporate history may have elevated precisely the wrong type of people to positions of great power and public trust.

Trickle-down tyranny - why ordinary people in positions

Natural News

When I read a story yesterday about an 89-year-old woman being water-boarded by nursing home staff over an argument about ice cream, I knew something terrible was amiss across the American landscape. Spontaneous acts of tyranny have been cropping up lately like cancer tumors: a food tyrant in Nevada raids a farm picnic and orders everyone to destroy their food (http://www.naturalnews.com/034125_f...); student protesters in California get pepper-sprayed by thuggish cops who clearly enjoy causing pain and suffering (http://fieldnotes.msnbc.msn.com/_ne...); and now nursing home staffers torture their own resident using techniques borrowed from Guantanamo Bay (http://atlanta.cbslocal.com/2011/11...).

I watched all this with a sense of sadness and disgrace for the human race. And then a realization hit me like a sledgehammer...

People are only following by example

These random acts of tyranny aren't really random acts at all. They are the infantile acting-out of behaviors the childish American public has witnessed being demonstrated by their "leaders." The TSA sexually molesting air travelers isn't just a violation of fundamental human rights -- it's also a demonstration to the mindless masses that this is now "normal" behavior in society, you see.

So as the masses observe Big Government reaching down their own pants, they now get the message that it's okay to sexually molest little boys at sports stadiums, or that it's okay to take children away from parents through C.P.S. and then rape them as part of child relocation "processing" procedures.

When the American people see George Bush set up secret military prisons and condone waterboarding torture techniques, they called for Obama to stop the practice. Obama promised he would, and then not long after becoming President, he expanded Gitmo and actually presided over an increase in funding for the military and all its secret torture facilities.

The message to the American people? If Obama supports it, then torture must be okay. After all, he won a Nobel Peace Prize, so "peace" must be something that can be achieved through torture. Thus, we should not be at all surprised when an 89-year-old woman gets water-boarded in a nursing home. After all, those staffers are only doing to her what they've watched the U.S. leaders do to other human beings, too. (And yet, for some reason, the nursing home staff were arrested while all the high-level government operatives who engage in the exact same torture techniques are never even questioned...)

This phenomenon of everyday American people mirroring the behavior of federal "authorities" who act as tyrants needed a name, and as I began to ponder this issue, the name came to me in a flash:

I'm calling this phenomenon Trickle-Down Tyranny.

International Free Range Chicken Ranches of The Apocalypse

Smoking Mirrors

After the Franklin Scandal and the Portuguese pedophile scandal and The Dutroux Scandal and The French Pedophile Scandal and the U.K. Pedophile Scandal and the world wide Israeli sex trafficking trade of all sexes and ages and many more too numerous to mention comes the Sandusky sex ring for underprivileged old, rich white men, which also includes a murder. It also gets much darker than that and even darker than this. We can factor in the abuses of The Catholic Church, which requires no links because if you don't already know more than you want to about this, then you don't want to know in the first place. If you have six months of spare time in this Free Range Apocalypse you can go here for a primer.

The "Empowered" Whore Archetype Destroying the Feminine

 © Thomas Sheridan

Mass media is too powerful/invasive and has led to the destruction of the feminine aspect of Western culture - which once represented wisdom and nurturing, and replaced it with "empowering" whore archetypes such as the airbrushed, nymphomaniac dregs on shows like Sex and the City. This has derailed Western society away from notions of feminine wisdom towards a completely superficial narcissistic bling-culture-on-herpes-medication in heavy Max Factor packaging. Because this is how the present psychopathic mainstream considers women to be.

Society should be female - currently, society is a psychopathic male in terms of what it delivers to all of us.

This damages both men and women - as most men today expect a woman to be a tart, and many women seek and marry plastic surgeons in the hope of not being discarded. So Western society has become increasingly misogynistic even with the success of women's lib and so. A man can not marry a woman who is intelligent, loving and secure unless she is also "hot" - likewise women are coached to look for men who will finance their media driven delusions of what being beautiful is. The rest of us are discarded for not being superficial enough. Psychopaths control the mass media and this insanity has distorted a lot of the population to emulate this pathology as the new norm.

Corpses Don't Rebel: A former follower of Michael Pearl's "To Train Up A Child" reacts to the death of Hana Williams

This piece was submitted by No Longer Quivering member, “ExPearlSwine” -- who understandably wishes to share her story anonymously.

The death toll from parents following Michael and Debi Pearl’s teachings continues to mount. Another child is has been “biblically chastened” to death via corporal punishment, and Michael Pearl is defending his teachings in the mainstream media while promoting his new book. Gary Tuchman and Anderson Cooper both reported on the death of 13-year-old Hana Williams, whose adoptive parents Larry and Carri Williams subjected her to beatings and neglect while following the teachings of the Pearls.

Michael Pearl defends himself and his teachings during his CNN interviews using two arguments:

First, the presence of his book, To Train Up a Child, and the presence of his other teaching materials on “biblical chastisement,” in the homes of homicidal parents, is purely circumstantial. It makes no more sense, Pearl argues, to blame To Train Up a Child for discipline-turned-abusive-turned-murderous than to blame Alcoholics Anonymous brochures in the home for deaths due to drunk driving, or weight-loss materials in the home for obesity.

As Anderson Cooper pointed out, this defense is illogical. AA literature says not to drink, especially while driving. Pearl literature emphasizes inflicting physical pain on children in order to break their wills and achieve total obedience to parents. In the Cooper interview, Pearl talks about physically chastising to “get the child’s attention.” What if your child still isn’t paying attention?

Pearl’s second argument comes up every time his teachings are linked to children beaten to death: kids end up abused and killed because parents, despite owning copies of his teachings and trying to follow them, aren’t really following his teachings. They are missing the joy part, the reconciliation part, the praying part, the loving part, or whatever. They discipline in anger instead of in love.

Or—and I suspect this is what Pearl really thinks but can’t say without contradicting his own child-training directions—they should have known when to stop, when they were being cruel and abusive instead of loving, even if the child was still in rebellion and hadn’t budged an inch. At some point, a loving parent with some sense and a conscience will stop inflicting more pain. This is what Pearl believes, or at least one would hope this is what he believes. This isn’t what he teaches.

I followed the Pearls’ teachings for years, and the children I subjected to “biblical chastisement” are very much the worse off for it. I’m wondering which part of Michael Pearl’s teachings he’d say I was missing:
  1. Get Pearl’s teachings and read every single word and pray. Check.
  2. Start striking infants with objects on the hand or in the buttocks area as soon as they are able to reach for something you don’t want them to touch and ignore your “No.” Check.
  3. Hit them harder if they continue. Check.
  4. When they cry, lovingly console them and “reconcile” them to yourself and God. Check.
  5. Always use physical chastisement on them when they don’t respond to spoken correction. Check. If I didn’t strike them, my husband did.
  6. Believe that they will end up juvenile delinquents and go to hell if you slack off. Check.
  7. Pray and study the Bible some more. Check.
  8. Be joyful about chastising your baby all day. Praise God while you slap a three-month-old’s hand with a ruler and think about how godly he’ll turn out. Half a check. It was hard.
  9. The children will quit rebelling and be wonderful children who sweetly, quietly obey and love you to pieces. . . No check.
