Psychopaths, Money, and Social Media

Political Ponerology |  Harrison Koehli

Psychopathy in the news

I am reposting two recent articles on psychopathy with some commentary. The first comes from Finlay Macdonald for The Conversation and was published back in April. The headline: "Why a psychopath wouldn't hesitate to cause another global financial crisis - if there was something in it for them."
Would you want a psychopath looking after your pension? Or what about your shares? In a recent talk at the Cambridge Festival of Science, I spoke about the latest research relating to a psychopath's love of money, greed for power, and willingness to harm other people financially for personal gain.
It is fashionable in some circles to argue that the psychopath's lack of empathy is an asset in certain professions. For example, they will be cool surgeons under pressure, task-oriented soldiers unhindered by fear or remorse, ruthless businessmen willing to take risks that will benefit shareholders. In reality, they're just as likely to kill you under the knife and not care, kill their brothers in arms if it means saving their skin, or screw over everyone else in the company for their own gain. They may have certain skills, like everyone, but they are fundamentally unreliable, because they just don't care.

Varlam Shalamov: 45 things I learned in the Gulag

Varlam Shalamov
The Paris Review

For fifteen years the writer Varlam Shalamov was imprisoned in the Gulag for participating in “counter-revolutionary Trotskyist activities.” He endured six of those years enslaved in the gold mines of Kolyma, one of the coldest and most hostile places on earth. While he was awaiting sentencing, one of his short stories was published in a journal called Literary Contemporary. He was released in 1951, and from 1954 to 1973 he worked on Kolyma Stories, a masterpiece of Soviet dissident writing that has been newly translated into English and published by New York Review Books Classics this week. Shalamov claimed not to have learned anything in Kolyma, except how to wheel a loaded barrow. But one of his fragmentary writings, dated 1961, tells us more.

1. The extreme fragility of human culture, civilization. A man becomes a beast in three weeks, given heavy labor, cold, hunger, and beatings.

2. The main means for depraving the soul is the cold. Presumably in Central Asian camps people held out longer, for it was warmer there.

3. I realized that friendship, comradeship, would never arise in really difficult, life-threatening conditions. Friendship arises in difficult but bearable conditions (in the hospital, but not at the pit face).

4. I realized that the feeling a man preserves longest is anger. There is only enough flesh on a hungry man for anger: everything else leaves him indifferent.

5. I realized that Stalin’s “victories” were due to his killing the innocent—an organization a tenth the size would have swept Stalin away in two days.

6. I realized that humans were human because they were physically stronger and clung to life more than any other animal: no horse can survive work in the Far North.

Study Confirms Most Psychopaths Live in Washington D.C.

Joe Jarvis
Daily Bell
Murphy also included the District of Columbia in his research, and found it had a psychopathy level far higher than any other state. But this finding is an outlier, as Murphy notes, as it’s an entirely urban area and cannot be fairly compared with larger, more geographically diverse, US states. That said, as Murphy notes, “The presence of psychopaths in District of Columbia is consistent with the conjecture found in Murphy (2016) that psychopaths are likely to be effective in the political sphere.”
Surprised? I didn’t think so. But still, fun to get some scientific confirmation.

Psychos are drawn to power. It is not just that power corrupts, it is that already corrupt people seek power. Government is the best industry to be in for someone with no morals.

The study is called Psychopathy By State, conducted by Ryan Murphy. He surveyed samples from the lower 48 states and Washington D.C. to find the prevalence of personality traits which correspond to psychopathy.

The personality traits generally corresponding to psychopathy are low neuroticism, high extraversion, low agreeableness, and low conscientiousness.

Of course, D.C. came in first by far. But as he notes, that this is not exactly a fair comparison, as it is a city being compared to entire states. The study finds that urban areas, in general, correspond to more psychopathic personality traits.

Another interesting finding is that a higher concentration of lawyers predicts higher psychopathy prevalence. I kid you not.

Introduction to Study War No More and A Global Security System: An Alterantive to War

Comment: Undoubtedly, this is a great initiative and should be embraced whole-heartedly. But like so many other initiatives of the past and present if there is no part of the curriculum that discusses the ponerological roots that give rise to war (pathological mind viruses infiltrating any and all new socio-political systems) then such a framework of good intentions will likely go the way of all other initiatives of this kind, namely, co-option by the very psychologically deviant types who have produced many of the problems we currently face in this world.

A Global Security System: An Alternative to War — 2017 Edition Now Available

The 2017 edition of A Global Security System: An Alternative to War (AGSS) is now available.

AGSS is World Beyond War’s effort to describe an alternative security system – one in which peace is pursued by peaceful means – to replace the present war system. It describes the “hardware” of creating a peace system, and the “software” — the values and concepts — necessary to operate a peace system and the means to spread these globally

Key sections include:
* Why is an Alternative Global Security System both Desirable and Necessary?
* Why we Think a Peace System is Possible
* Common Security
* Demilitarizing Security
* Managing International and Civil Conflicts
* International Non-government Organizations: The Role of Global Civil Society
* Creating a Culture of Peace
* Accelerating The Transition To An Alternative Security System

This report is based on the work of many experts in international relations, peacebuilding and peace studies and on the experience of many activists.

This 3rd edition reflects new thinking and insights as well as the feedback from readers and partners. This is not just another report, but a living document that we will continually seek to improve. New in this edition is an analysis of Trump’s foreign policy agenda; updated and new data on peace economics and military spending; and new or updated sections including the business of peacebuilding, demilitarizing security, multi-track diplomacy framework to peacemaking, and many other additions.

“What a treasure. It is so well written and conceptualized. The beautiful text and design immediately captured the attention and imagination of my 90 graduate and undergraduate students.  Visually and substantively, the clarity of the book appeals to young people in a way textbooks have not.” —Barbara Wien, American University

‘Tommorowland’ film review: Earth transformed only after .01%’s continuous doom-porn ended

Comment: This film really does describes the exact reality that we live under, I'd say. Including the time-travelling psychopaths...

------------------------------------

Memory Hole

Tommorrowland contrasts a future of Earth as the wonderful place we all see possible from a soul-crushing present with literally no future.

Like today, the story’s general public is in an Emperor’s New Clothes trance, blind to a hidden government continuously broadcasting doom-porn.

This .01% secret government is trans-dimensional, manipulates future timelines, and has technology capable of easily solving all economic problems. However, the “leadership” of this .01% are literal psychopaths (and here): a public face of “caring for the future” while actively killing anyone working for truth and free will.

The .01% shadow government keeps their hidden history secret with all available technology, constantly lying and manipulating the general public. The lies are meant to continue until an endgame that apparently kills most of the 99.99%.

The punchline of the story is the courage of the awakened to communicate the truth: we freely shape the future with our thoughts, words, and actions.

The awakened discover that the 99.99% are in their trance from doom-porn that is broadcast into their thoughts with advanced technology by the .01%. When the broadcast source is destroyed, the .01%’s minions choose to redeploy the advanced technology to cooperatively create a future that benefits all.

Earth is saved when people are given access to the truth, and can choose freely what future they will create in good-faith work. Their history will be re-written as continuous manipulation of the 99.99% by conventional and secret technologies, until that vicious psychopathic control was broken.

In the above 1-minute film clip, the character Athena states that when human creativity is unleashed, “the result is miracles.”

She also emphatically provides a choice that we have to go to this future, or face constant targeting for death by the .01% shadow government.

When asked if this bright future exists, Athena answers:

“Of course it does. But if you don’t come with me, it won’t for much longer.”

So it is in our real Earth of the present. To connect to reality, I recommend my paper for the Claremont Colleges’ conference, Seizing an Alternative Toward an Ecological Civilization, with open registration to the public on June 4-7, 2015.

Paper title:

‘Emperor’s New Clothes’ political collapse: Seizing an alternative to OBVIOUS unlawful wars, bankster looting, lying corporate media.

Israeli President’s Diagnosis — ‘Israel is a Sick Society’ — Doesn’t Go Viral in the U.S.

Philip Weiss
Mondoweiss

Did you hear that the president of Israel said Israel is a “sick society”? Reuven Rivlin, a Likudnik, said this over the weekend. There’s been lots of coverage in Israel, but as Sullivan points out, the declaration hasn’t gotten much attention stateside. I should think it would be viral.

The Jewish Telegraphic Agency’s report:

“It is time to honestly admit that Israeli society is ill – and it is our duty to treat this disease,” Rivlin told the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities on Sunday at a conference titled “From Xenophobia to Accepting the Other.”

“The tension between Jews and Arabs within the State of Israel has risen to record heights, and the relationship between all parties has reached a new low,” he said. “We have all witnessed the shocking sequence of incidents and violence taking place by both sides. The epidemic of violence is not limited to one sector or another, it permeates every area and doesn’t skip any arena. There is violence in soccer stadiums as well as in the academia. There is violence in the social media and in everyday discourse, in hospitals and in schools.”

From the Jerusalem Post:

The time has come to admit that Israel is a sick society, with an illness that demands treatment, President Reuven Rivlin said at the opening session on Sunday of a conference on From Hatred of the Stranger to Acceptance of the Other.

Rivlin wondered aloud whether Jews and Arabs had abandoned the secret of dialogue.

With regard to Jews he said: “I’m not asking if they’ve forgotten how to be Jews, but if they’ve forgotten how to be decent human beings. Have they forgotten how to converse?” In Rivlin’s eyes, the academy has a vital task to reduce violence in Israeli society by encouraging dialogue and the study of different cultures and languages with the aim of promoting mutual understanding, so that there can be civilized meetings between the sectors of society.

JTA says that Rivlin spoke of abuse he’s received on his Facebook page. Presumably from the right, not the left. This is a country where a settler extremist assassinated a prime minister who was saying he wanted to compromise with Palestinians, 19 years ago.

Rivlin is obviously referencing the teen murders of the last summer and the chants of “Death to Arabs” that resound in the streets of Jerusalem. This is the hardline rightwing society that Max Blumenthal described in his book Goliath, that Shlomo Sand has sought to resign from by stopping being a Jew, and that Nathan Thrall cites in his takedown of Ari Shavit’s usefulness to American Jews as a liberal voice when he’s anything but. And the president of the country is saying this? A Likudnik politician? As Sulllivan says, any American who said this would be instantly marginalized and smeared as an anti-Semite. Witness Blumenthal’s blacklisting by the Times, and the fact that Sand and Thrall appear in English publications. While liberal American Jews hold on to their dreamcastle Israel, with the help of Shavit and his media posse; and the New York Times gives a platform to wingnut Caroline Glick to malign Palestinian leaders. This is a very dangerous situation. Though I imagine if there’s enough controversy over the comments, The New York Times will cover them. Chris Matthews has surely seen Rivlin’s comment but won’t touch it until safe media here have picked it up.

By the way, in a radio discussion on Open Source a month ago, I said that Zionism began in 1894 with Theodor Herzl hearing the chant, Death to the Jews, in Paris, and that it has now culminated 120 years later with nationalist Jews chanting Death to the Arabs in Jerusalem. That is the alpha and omega of political Zionism, which has failed Herzl’s own test, that the stranger will be welcome in Jewish society. Bernard Avishai responded that I was offering a “caricature” of the movement. I don’t think it’s a caricature; it’s a realistic interpretation of the failure of an ideology to create a better society. Rivlin must share something of my view, despairingly. Does he have the makings of a De Klerk, the ability to state to his fellow citizens that the project has failed and must be reimagined?

The 'Wetiko Virus' and Collective Psychosis: Interview With Paul Levy

The 'Wetiko Virus' and Collective Psychosis: Interview With Paul Levy

Born in 1956, Paul Levy graduated with degrees in art and economics and has had a lifelong intense interest in the work of C. G. Jung. As a result of an intense personal trauma in 1981, he began a process of spiritual awakening that led him on a 'shamanic descent' and a quest to understand the fundamental nature of reality.

Paul is the author of: The Madness of George Bush: A Reflection of Our Collective Psychosis and Dispelling Wetiko: Breaking the Curse of Evil

In his books Paul explores and explains that we 'disown' our innermost, darkest thoughts and feelings and project them outwards onto others and the world, a process he compares to the Native American Indian concept of “wetiko”. Paul has stated that "there is a contagious psychospiritual disease of the soul, a parasite of the mind, that is currently being acted out en masse on the world stage via a collective psychosis of titanic proportions. This mind-virus covertly operates through the unconscious blind spots in the human psyche, rendering people oblivious to their own madness and compelling them to act against their own best interests."

Collective Delusional Processes in U.S. Society

Sott.net
Robert Kirkconnell

It was Andrew Lobaczewski, author of Political Ponerology: A Science on the Nature of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes, who first presented the concept that, throughout history, pathological personalities have taken over societies and caused unimaginable destruction. Needless wars have caused untold millions of needless deaths and trillions of dollars in destruction. He characterized this process as political and macro-social evil in a scientifically measurable way.

Lobaczewski presented a process that begins with visionaries whose ideas are corrupted by a cascade of personalities, all deficient in character, ending in psychopaths taking the helm and guiding the society to war, destruction, and eventual collapse. Most of us think of psychopaths as being mostly criminals who end up in jail, but Lobaczewski shows that they actually are capable of leading us, at least when they are born into privilege.

Lobaczewski also describes how the rest of society largely goes along with this, and this is the subject of this article.

How I Became an “Activist”

Comment: You have to applaud DeGraw's sincerity and drive to offer better solutions to the fucked up world we currently inhabit. And he's right - there is a change afoot and we all have to decide where we are in relation to truth, justice and freedom in the external world, but more importantly and what he has neglected to mention - within ourselves. Until we change our inner landscape and become aware of the nature of our pathological social systems any new freedom movement is likely to be a flash-in-the-pan - including David's new vision. The world isn't for changing - it's not designed to be. That doesn't mean to say we can't improve things and that large-scale positive change isn't possible, just that it seems to me that certain fundamentals need to be in place first. And these are:

1) Awareness of psychopathy as a psychological disease rooted in our societies and knowledge as to how it can be prevented from infecting future groups, movements and organisations.
2) Insistence on placing trust in the State. We don't need it. Thus ignoring socioeconomic and political framework which currently imprisons us, is imperative.
3) The rejection of materialism and the balance of scientific and spiritual innovation.
4) Joining together with like-minded individuals who had largely shed their belief in "-isms" and seek only to be true to themselves, as oppose to joining the next "-sim" desiring global change. Clusters of networks you might say, gradually tuning out the concepts of State authority and thus being truly independent and self-sufficient.

I think there are others but those are the important ones, in my view. Without the above we will remain locked into the rise and fall of Empires and the naive belief that world needs healing and changing. And so it continues...

De Graw states:

"You just need to stir things up, create a nonviolent groundswell and positive change will organically arise. Out of action, answers, solutions and a sense of purpose and fulfillment emerge. Your positive actions become contagious, you begin to radiate at a powerful frequency. You become infectious in the most positive way."

The problem is that isn't enough. History shows that without an awareness of the nature of the psychopath in positions of power and the dynamics which lead to their overall control,  positive feelings and actions merely add to the chaos. So called solutions are immediately co-opted because they have the seeds of psychopathy within them.

That said, DeGraw's article is a sincere and refreshing look at where activism could be. If only he could include an awareness of ponerology in his vision he may ignite something more profound...

How I Became an “Activist”

David DeGraw

This piece is part of my training to get back into fighting form for the forthcoming Worldwide Wave. Think of it as hitting the heavy bag or a mental sparring match in preparation for scaling those divide & conquer walls and traps of negativity that hold us back. It’s also a form of self-exploratory therapy, a flowing stream of consciousness. Let me know what you think. What parts need improvement? What parts inspire you? Your critique will be incredibly helpful.

How I Became an “Activist”

I don’t consider myself to be a progressive, libertarian, conservative, liberal, democrat or republican. I’m not a capitalist, communist, socialist or anarchist. I leave all those outdated labels to the academics and the divide and conquer propagandists. Those labels are all shortcuts to dismissal; they amputate critical thinking skills and shift the focus off of the substance of the message and the immense common ground we all actually share. Whatever political ideology or groupthinking box you surrender your freethinking mind to, we all have much more in common than we acknowledge.
We are freedom-seeking people who want to enjoy life. We want our kids, family and friends to grow up and live in a healthy environment with us, to have the freedom to follow our passions and fulfill our potential. We all want to live in a community that enhances our potential. So when I saw unhealthy outcomes surround me, I began to analyze them and look for root causes. This primarily led me to politics and economics generally, more specifically the creation of money, the global banking system and the corrupting influence of money in politics.

After doing intense research, I began reporting on my findings. I used to edit and write investigative reports exposing corruption in politics and economics. My focus on reporting what was happening without adhering to any one particular ideology or pre-existing groupthink led to the reports becoming popular on a wide diversity of sites, millions of people read them. I found fulfillment in exposing what I consider to be the root causes of problems that limit our potential. At the time, I felt people needed to know how corrupt our system had become. After awareness had spread – now you can’t jump on social media without seeing people posting on the corruption – continuing to just report on the corruption seemed to be a form of mental masturbation, merely a way to make an income. It seemed in just explaining the problems, the awareness was growing but not much at all was really changing. In fact, the suffering of those around me kept getting worse.

I became overwhelmed with a sense of futility. What is the sense in constantly reporting on the same people doing the same scandalous things? I began to feel like a person who was reporting on a serial killer. You report that this person killed that person, this is how they did it and this is how they will continue to do it. People say you are doing a good job and pat you on the back, but then when the killer strikes again, you report on it again, the cycle starts all over and the killer continues his spree. What is the point? At some point you have to stand up and do something about it. You can’t just keep reporting on it, you have to stop the killer. So I started organizing people. That’s how I became an “activist,” if that’s what you want to call it. I see it as being a freedom fighter. This will sound grandiose, and how effective I am at it is an open question, but ultimately I see myself as a person who fights for a society that increases enjoyment, fulfillment, empowerment and maximizes our potential.

I discovered that a small percentage of the population has $50 trillion in wealth. I also realized that the average person has no comprehension of how much money that truly is, and how just a mere fraction of that staggering amount of wealth could vastly evolve society, for the benefit of all. Once you understand the shortsightedness of this and fully realize the implications of this concentration of wealth, there really is no turning back. It is the greatest crime against humanity. Once you understand this massive injustice, and see the needless suffering of many of the people around you, the people you care about most, you begin to think how this could have ever happened. I’m all for personal responsibility, that plays a role, but this is clearly systemic, a system of exploitation is in place.

You start wondering how this system came to be, how it works. How did we end up with a system overrun with corruption and dominated by shortsighted greed? Then you begin to see how the mainstream media is truly the greatest weapon of oppression humanity has ever known. Even the most independent minded people vastly underestimate how propagandized and conditioned we all are. From cradle to grave, we are repetitiously programmed into a mental prison. The modern paradigm is built on relentless repetition. Repetitive thoughts fill our mental atmosphere, we are immersed in the climate of repetitive ideas. It’s what the advertising industry has always understood; nothing influences the mind more than repetition.
It’s bullshit on repetition and censorship by omission. The repetition drives us and the censorship makes sure we don’t veer off course and awaken our conscious thoughts for too long. The more important something is, the less it’s reported on in the mainstream press. The censorship that we have today is the most dangerous form. Not the censorship of explicit words, sex or violence, but the censorship of any thoughts outside of the prevailing corporate ideology. Any thoughts that deviate from the status quo are not allowed into mass consciousness.

People are systematically bred to be consumers and wage slaves, merely cogs in a shortsighted, greed-addicted machine. That sounds harsh, but it is the truth. The modern paradigm is neo-feudalism. The statistics and facts, the proof is overwhelming on this. I don’t think of it as some dark conspiracy theory.

There are dark conspiracies, but more than anything I see it as the outcome of the clash between human nature, civilization and technology. In my view, it really does come down to human nature. That’s why I think talking about capitalism, socialism and communism is a waste of time. All of those ideologies started out as systems people thought would enhance freedom and prosperity at the time, but after a while they all became outdated and started to limit freedom and descended into oligarchy. It’s the Iron Law of Oligarchy. Once people achieve freedom or success, they tend to get complacent and power then begins to concentrate and corruption and injustice is the outcome. You get what we have now, a paradigm that has outlived its usefulness. Things get too concentrated, corruption reigns and a critical mass suffers, then the masses rise up and freedom begins to grow again. This is an oversimplification of course, just a general ebb and flow that plays out to varying degrees.

The scary part though, this time around, our technological capabilities, our enhanced ability to consume and destroy; our shortsighted greed may have outpaced our long-term thinking, our humanity. That’s the pessimistic view. I’m feeling optimistic now though. As painful as the past few years have been, and as steep as the many challenges we face moving forward are, I feel an erratic sense of excitement and optimism about the future. It’s the old “darkest before the dawn” line. History has demonstrated that it only takes 3.5% of the population engaging in non-violent activism to create positive, significant and meaningful change. The awareness level, the awareness that things are moving in the wrong direction is so widespread now. More and more people are turning to activism of some kind. A few sparks will set the evolution ablaze.

Changing the corrupt political and economic system that is currently in place is not rocket science. Those in power want you to think that it is, but it really is very basic. We are almost at a critical mass on many fronts, just by people doing what they can in their personal lives “to be the change.” Being the change we need to see, in your personal life, is a needed first step that many people are now taking. What I’m after though is making those changes the cool thing to do on a mass scale, to infiltrate and subvert the propaganda system that has dumbed us down and shift it to an enlightening and empowering force. For all the exploitation and injustice within the modern system, it wouldn’t take much to alter it from a tool of exploitation to a tool of empowerment.

Media is becoming much more decentralized now, and that is a very healthy thing. However, we still have the 800-pound gorilla, the mainstream media Goliath dominating mass consciousness, so along with growing new media we also need to focus on ways to co-opt the dominant mainstream propaganda system. You then ask, “How can we make that happen?” In my experience, the best way to do that is to create a stir on the ground, to engage in actions that the mainstream media cannot ignore. Even if they do ignore them, if the actions are large and consistent enough, we can create so much buzz online now, it will further expose the mainstream media’s complicity in oppression and propaganda, and help speed up traditional media’s decline.

Another wave of mass protests and rallies on the ground, in public, in our communities will spark the shift in consciousness that it will take to push us toward a freedom that provides widespread health and prosperity. Activism is at the core a marketing strategy, its psychological operations. It’s a way of countering conditioned consciousness. You empower people by showing them that you are not going to just let corruption and injustices happen, you are not going to take it and they don’t have to either. You let people know that they are not alone. The mainstream media makes people feel as if they are suffering in isolation. The overwhelming majority of us are suffering in isolation. Once we break through the false sense of isolation and the feeling of futility that it creates, we will unleash the unstoppable power we have in numbers. It doesn’t matter how much money and weapons those in power have, they are weak compared to an awakened and organized nonviolent population. Without the consent and participation of the population, they have no real power. Once the majority realizes this, the handful of corrupt people who are presently running our lives will be quickly swept into the dustbin of history.

The corrupt know how powerful nonviolent direct action activism is in the current environment because the propaganda system is collapsing. Propaganda doesn’t work very well when people can’t pay their bills. There is presently a critical mass of aware citizens; all we need is a few consistent sparks. That’s why the police state cracked down so harshly on the Occupy Movement. Occupy was on the verge of becoming a serious popular uprising. We were creating a powerful sense of community. People participating felt like they had a voice and the solidarity and support of a compassionate community. That is a key element that is missing from the oppressive and dehumanizing corporatization of society. We were creating a subculture of transformation that people could easily become part of. Thousands of these camps quickly sprung up and they were driven more by a sense of community than they were any one particular political agenda. We overcame the divide and conquer propaganda by just involving anyone, regardless of what their propaganda driven political beliefs, perspectives and preconceptions were. By focusing on the community and subcultural aspects, we were a lot closer to sparking a revolution and inspiring a significant societal evolution than most people realized.

All it took was about 300 people deciding that they were going to peacefully occupy a small park in New York, and a few instances of police brutality against these nonviolent people. That small action dramatically changed the political debate and sent shockwaves throughout the world. We can do something like that again, and we will soon. I’m very confident that we now know several effective ways to do it.

The bottomline, in my view, we need to make people see how they are looking at life through the rearview mirror. They are basing their view of the present situation on their understanding of past situations.

Thanks to the conditioning process of the mainstream media, most people don’t understand the paradigm shift that has occurred. They don’t fully grasp how much wealth there really is. They underestimate the technological capacity we now have to distribute wealth, resources and services much more efficiently and effectively. The capacity for evolution and change, due to the advancement of technology, can deliver us a very dramatic shift toward mass freedom, more substantially and swiftly than anything that has been experienced before. We can make it happen. The modern oligarchy is collapsing. Another small uprising will trigger the needed mass support to finally make the advancements in society that we should have made a generation ago.

So that’s why I’m an “activist” now. We need to infect people with radical positivity. We need to inspire and empower people to snap them out of this propagandized and beaten mindset that they are repetitiously imprisoned into. We need to jam the repetitious low frequency conditioning that contracts mass consciousness. We need to expand awareness and transcend conditioned consciousness by lighting sparks of freedom and empowerment, by setting brush fires in the mass mind. We can show people that another world is not only possible, it’s happening.

That’s what the Occupy Movement briefly did for the people who took part in it. It was a consciousness-expanding phenomenon. All these free radicals appeared inside the conditioning machine. They shined brightly within the dreary environment of people’s oppressive daily lives. Occupy was a splinter in the mind that slightly shifted mass consciousness. It cracked open the window and let a flickering light in. Occupy was the opening act, the awakening wave. For those of us who are paying attention, there is clearly another wave forming. That’s why I’m now focusing on the Worldwide Wave of Action. A Worldwide Wave of Transformation is coming this spring. We are on the cusp of an unprecedented evolutionary leap forward. I’m not talking about a utopia; I’m talking about a dramatic increase in empowerment and freedom. That’s what this is all about.

The more you take action, the more empowered you feel. You don’t need to have all the answers and some precise predefined outcome agreed upon beforehand. Change and evolution have never come about that way. You just need to stir things up, create a nonviolent groundswell and positive change will organically arise. Out of action, answers, solutions and a sense of purpose and fulfillment emerge. Your positive actions become contagious, you begin to radiate at a powerful frequency. You become infectious in the most positive way. Don’t take my word for it. Try it out for yourself.

Anonymous Vs. Steubenville

Comment: How ironic that Lostutter is facing 25 years in prison for revealing Establishment crimes, where the worst sexual predators in our society converge and who perpetuate the sexual abuse in our society.

-------------------

Rolling Stone

On November 25th, the most notorious rape case in recent memory took yet another shocking twist. In Steubenville, Ohio, where a 16-year-old girl was raped by two high school football players in August 2012, a grand jury indicted the city's School Superintendent, Michael McVey, on felony charges of tampering with evidence and obstructing justice. An elementary school principal and two coaches in the district were indicted as well, facing misdemeanor charges including failure to report child abuse and making false statements. Shortly after the news hit that morning, Deric Lostutter, a ... 26-year-old programmer in Lexington, Kentucky, [sent] me a message. "We were called liars and more," he wrote, but "we were right about it." He had reason to feel vindicated. As one of the most notorious members of the hacker collective, Anonymous, Lostutter battled to bring justice to Steubenville, exposing secrets of a town that's still reeling from the fallout today. He just never expected that he'd get raided by the FBI, and face more prison time than the rapists in the end.

Anonymous is a purposefully chaotic and leaderless collective. Anyone can proclaim themselves a member or declare an "operation" against a target. But getting others to [care] is another story. This is what makes Lostutter stand out. Less than two months after creating his alter ego as KYAnonymous, he launched and organized two of group's most renowned and righteous operations yet: battling the Westboro Baptist Church and, most famously, the town of Steubenville, Ohio, after the high-profile rape of a teenage girl by players on the high school football team.

Ron Paul? Sorry, but he doesn't have a hope in Hell.

Look I see Ron Paul as a good guy. I think he's strong, his heart is in the right place and  I think he was correct on many points.

But dear God, people, it is not the fact that he "makes sense" or that "he is genuine" or that "the US military supports him"and he's against the "staus quo" it is the VOTING SYSTEM and the National Security State apparatus that controls it.

"Revolution" will not happen with Ron Paul because there is not a hope in hell that he will attain the Presidency. The system will not allow it. It is the same military-corporate-occult system that picked the last several Presidents. That has not shifted and still remains, albeit with cracks in its edifice.

BUT....When Ron Paul loses - as he will - the disappointment may allow the scales to drop regarding the nature of the socio-political prison we live under. This may then produce such a a huge uprising within the consciousness of Americans that a REAL non-violent revolution may eventuate. But it can only happen with radical overhaul of politics and the very agencies and departments that have been infected by this corruption, ideological pathology and religious fanaticism of all kinds.

Even if Ron Paul were to win, he would still be operating within a social structure that has been created by a psychopathological perception of reality. Those effects don't just go away nor does the psychological trauma within social systems of which politics is a part. He would be hampered at every turn and surrounded by wolves. The result would probably be another Kennedy-type assassination in order to get "back to business."  That same brutal cabal is still there and it has grown in scope and power.

If you want a congress and our political sphere made up of "principled people" then the structure has to change. Law and Justice has to change, Economics has to change, the very perception of business actvity has to change. Because right now, it is inhabited by perceptions that stem from the effects of psychopathology that has infected institutions, ideologies and positions of power most severely across Western civillisation for far too long. If this psychological awareness is not addressed, then history will undoubtedly repeat itself and principled men and women will once again be sidelined and "democracy" and the concept of the constitution will revert to doublespeak: the words will be used but they will represent something entirely different. Evil often veils itself in candy-coated visions and ostensibly benign sentiments of an infinite variety and people are only too willing to suspend critical thinking in favor of comfort zones  and personal security. (Yes, I've done it too).

Ron Paul is not the answer. The changing awareness of Americans is the only option and that awareness MUST include the understanding that RADICAL change based on psychological knolledge of the mindset that has destroyed America and brought the world to its knees is the only way to build a more balanced future.

Change the system first and route out the Wizards behind the curtain who control voting, Congress, black operations, global financial architecture, media and the vast corporate monolith of weapons manufacturers, drugs and human trafficking that would be compromised should a non-puppet arrive at the Whitehouse. The vast money machine simply won't allow it.

LASTING CHANGE  WILL NOT COME FROM TRYING TO VOTE SOMEONE INTO A SYSTEM THAT IS ALREADY BROKEN. Yet, realisation of that fact may change reality in an  instant.

This is just a beginning and its effects will change the US  and the planet for decades to come depending how much ordinary people can think out of the box and envision an entirely different future free from centralised government, armies, private banks and corporate destruction. Most of all, to reach the point where we begin to understand what it means to have a mind that is truly free.

“Gurus & Sexual Manipulation”

Sex Guru

From the chapter “Gurus & Sexual Manipulation” in Part One of The Guru Papers by Joel Kramer and Diana Alstad

Cross-fertilization between East and West has produced a strange hybrid—a new breed of guru who combines hedonism with detachment. The rationale takes this form: Detachment from desire is still presented as the key to spiritual progress, but the quickest path to this is said to be not through asceticism, but rather by experiencing all desires. These particular gurus depict what they are doing as modernizing ancient esoteric methodologies (sometimes referred to as “tantric”) that attempted to bring self-realization through ritualistically breaking taboos. In the name of freeing people from their limitations and “hang-ups,” this path is presented as the fastest track for contemporary Westerners to achieve spiritual goals, without undo austerity. The intoxicating message is that “You can have it all”—live out hidden desires and fantasies, experience any pleasure, break taboos around sex and even violence—and be spiritual besides.

The assumption is that if one has or cultivates the right attitude (detachment), then “Anything goes.” This seductive, seemingly liberating stance of the you-can-have-it-all gurus has attracted many highly intelligent, experimental people.

Most people’s deepest inhibitions revolve around sexuality, aggression, and violence because it is here that the deepest taboos lie. One guru utilized “workshops” where various expressions of sex, rage, and intimidation were used to break through people’s boundaries. Bones were broken and group, impersonal, and even forced sex occurred. This is indeed a fast track to breaking down personality. By telling people this was a path to liberation, deep taboos could be broken without initial guilt. This brings not only powerful feelings as energy is released, but also the experience of a particular kind of freedom—freedom from repression. Dramatic shifts of identity coupled with intense emotions are easy to interpret as profound breakthroughs.

Although breaking down personality in this fashion can seem like a breakthrough, it contains an inherent hidden trap: It is the authority of the guru that gives permission to “act out.” Thus only through accepting the guru’s values and worldview can the hurtful aspects of such actions be ignored and condoned.

Having been stripped of their values, these newly “liberated” people are in a fragile state until new values and a new sense of identity can be integrated. Having “emptied” them, it’s easy for the guru to step in at this crucial moment and put his personal values and ideology at their center. So the followers’ new identity forms around surrender to him, a father figure, the one they now trust above all others—even themselves—because he supposedly liberated them in bestowing this great sense of freedom. This kind of freedom is the real illusion. Here direction and permission from an authority, combined with group pressure, moved many to act out in ways they were not capable of integrating without accepting the guru as the ultimate source of truth. What did not change is the underlying authoritarian personality structure, which was, if anything, reinforced.

Most often those who became involved in such groups could not conceive of themselves as subject to authoritarian manipulation. They saw themselves rather as true spiritual adventurers, unafraid to push against the boundaries of convention. For them, the very fact that they were capable of going beyond social constraints was a sign of liberation. (They were also told this by the guru.) That many discontented and innovative people were unwittingly seduced into submission and conformity (visible only to others) indicates the depth of people’s susceptibility to authoritarian control.

To rebel against one authority (society) by accepting another (a leader who gives permission to rebel) merely shifts allegiance, while giving the illusion of liberation. There are different ways of unleashing the repressed in oneself. Surrendering to a guru who facilitates this is one of them. However, this is very risky. Here these repressed aspects are highly manipulable because their allowability is dependent permission from an authority. The authority then ultimately defines what is permissible. This is how people can come to lie, steal, and even kill for the glory of God, or the guru.

Bringing up repressed desires can be useful in a context that fosters integration. The guru /disciple relationship is not such a context because it does not allow people to integrate their own experiences. Rather a new identity, that of disciple, is given as the means for integration. An identity that is dependent on the authority of another is not only fragile, but it is not a truly deep inner restructuring. The content may look different, which includes taking on a different worldview and values (the guru’s). However, the deepest structures of personality, especially how the person integrates experience and looks for validation, remain not only unchanged, but are often strengthened by this essentially authoritarian relationship.

The contents of a personality (beliefs, values, a worldview), though resistant, change far more easily than the underlying form or context, which in many is unconsciously authoritarian. This is not surprising given that so much of culture is transmitted as a given, not to be questioned, meaning that our heritage, too, is unconsciously authoritarian.

Seemingly dramatic shifts that involve switching quickly from one authoritarian system to another are not that difficult. (Many disillusioned Marxists shifted their utopian hopes to the spiritual world.) Utilizing sex (or violence) to push limits is indeed a quick way to undermine people’s identity and move them, but to where? We consider this truly unethical, not only because it fails to take into account how it hurts others, but because the very quickness of it leaves people awash and subject to easy manipulation. This is but another example of the great myth that an external authority can be the source of inner freedom.

Extremes in emotionally disconnected sex also disconnect the desire for closeness with another, especially when intimacy is pejoratively labeled “attachment.” This makes it easy for the guru to be the central emotional bond. As a result, many disciples gradually give less importance to sex, some even drifting into celibacy. They take this as a sign of their spiritual progress. For after all, they had tried sex to their heart’s content and seemed to have outgrown it, evolving into a supposedly more spiritual detachment— precisely as predicted and promised.

Not coincidentally, this also increased their faith in the guru’s wisdom and made them more available to work harder on whatever agenda the guru prescribed. This answers the riddle of how promoting detached promiscuity eventually turns dedicated hedonists into dedicated workers.

Fostering promiscuity, impersonal sex, and interchangeable sexual partners accomplishes the same agenda as celibacy. It trivializes sexual attraction and undermines coupling. Casual, disconnected, modular sex eventually leaves people satiated, jaded, and often hurt. They become fearful of forming deep relationships, which fits neatly into the guru’s need to have disciples detached from everything but him.

Throughout all this sexual manipulation, the underlying authoritarian personality structure not only remains intact and unconscious, but is greatly buttressed. For now it’s not just messages implanted in one’s mind long ago that impose “shoulds” and internal control; it’s a living authority figure who wields the absolute power of active mind control. This includes the power to make people who are being callously manipulated believe they are freer than everyone else.

How COINTELPRO really works and destroys social movements: Open letter from former Tea Partier to Occupy Wall Street protesters

Fawkes in Wall Street
© Robert Johnson
I don't expect you to believe me. I want you to read this, take it with a grain of salt, and do the research yourself. You may not believe me, but I want your movement to succeed. From a former tea partier to you, young new rebels, there's some advice to prevent what happened to our now broken movement from happening to you. I don't agree with everything your movement does, but I sympathize with your cause and agree on our common enemy. You guys are very intelligent and I trust that you will take this in the spirit it is intended.

I wish I could believe this Occupy Wall Street was still about (r)Evolution, but so far, all I am seeing is a painful rehash of how the government turned the pre-Presidential election tea party movement into the joke it is now. We were anarchists and ultra-libertarians, but above all we were peaceful. So, the media tried painting us as racists. But when that didn't work they tried to goad us into violence. When that failed, they killed our movement with money and false kindness from the theocratic arm of the Republican party. That killed our popular support.

I am sharing these observations, so you guys know what's going on and can prevent the media from succeeding in painting you as violent slacker hippies rebelling without a cause, or from having the movement be hijacked by a bunch of corporatists seeking to twist the movement's original intentions. If you think this can't happen, it happened to the Independence Party and the tea party movement. Don't let it happen to your movement as well.

Comment: What the author details comes right out of the Ponerization/Cointelpro playbook described in Andrew Lobaczewski's Political Ponerology.

Here's how they turned our movement into a bunch of pro-corporate Republican party rebranding astroturf, and this is how I predict they are turning your movement into a bunch of pro-corporate Democratic party rebranding astroturf. I believe many of these things are already happening, so take note.

1- The media will initially and purposely avoid covering your dissenting movement to cause confusion about what your movement is about within mainstream audiences. This is to enrage you and make you appear unreasonable, and perhaps even invisible.

2- While the obfuscation is happening, corporatists/government stooges will infiltrate and give superficial support, focus and financial backing to the targeted movement. In the tea party movement's case, it was the religious Republicans and Koch Brothers. In this case, it's the Public Sector Unions (the organizations as quasi-human entities, not the members themselves) and Ultra Rich liberals who pretend to care, but frankly do not serve liberators and freedom seekers but rather the interests of those who run the Public Sector Unions and the Democratic Party. Democrat, Republican, these parties are all part of the same corporate ruling system. Case in point: http://www.debates.org/

3-The media will cover the movement only after this infiltration succeeds. Once the infiltration is completed the MSM will manufacture public media antipathy towards the movement by using selective focus on the movement's most repulsive elements or infiltrators on the corporate Conservative media side, while the corporate Liberal media will create a more sympathetic tragic hero image -- this is the flip side of the tea party, but same media manipulation tactics. I go into greater detail on this tactic here.

4- Someone in the Democratic Party will feign sympathy for the movement and falsely "non-partisan" entities provide tons of funding and unwanted organization, just as was done with the tea party movement by Republicans. Once people assume that the government operatives are their friends, the government will hijack the movement and the threat of your movement will be neutralized.

If this new Occupy Wall Street movement is to survive, here's what needs to be done.

1- Loudly denounce violence and disavow the violent rabblerousers of the movement. They do not help the cause.

2- Be image conscious. Present your best face and call out those who act like fools within the movement. People are more likely to pay attention to you in your Sunday dress and bringing homemade food, than when you are drinking a bottle of Snapple and chomping on Big Macs while you are looking like a slacker rich hipster/unwashed hippie stereotype.

3- Accept that you've already been infiltrated by the government, and work hard to say, and state what your movement is and is not about. "No, this isn't about unions or Liberals, conservatives or bored spoiled brats. This is about 99% of our population being exploited and manipulated for the sake of profit." "No we will not resort to violence." "Yes, all we want is for for the end of government collusion with corporate entities that are illegitimately recognized as people." And, so forth...

4- Don't forget who you are as the illusions are thrown at you. Corporatists are masters of illusions. That's the most powerful weapon they have. That's how they sell products you don't need and convince you to justify accepting atrocities for the sake of products Don't fall for it. Otherwise, your cause will be lost. Be wary of large donations from special interest groups or non-profit corporations that were not involved this movement from the inception. Special interests groups are not your allies. Non-profit corporations are still corporations, and unfortunately, too many of them care more about donations than doing the right thing. Killing a movement with kindness is easy.

5- Remain independent and focused. If you can, pick a face to represent your movement. Rosa Parks wasn't just a random lady in a bus -- She was chosen. You too can use the power of illusion against those who oppose you.

I wish your movement better luck than we had with the tea party movement before it got hijacked by the theocrats and corporatists. We used to be non-partisan too. We were the older version of you. But, I believe that as the media apparatchik and infiltrators start to twist your cause, you will understand the frustration us early adopter tea partiers felt and that we were not your enemy after all. A fascist oligarchy on the verge of winning is our common enemy. This should be your focus. Don't be dazzled by the illusion as we were. For the sake of our future, know who you are.

Thank you for reading. I would love to read your ideas on the subject. Correct me where I am wrong. Explain what is going right. This is ultimately your fight.

EDITS: To understand how movements get hijacked, check out this fantastic video that JamesCarlin shared.

If my essay seems too conspiratorial for your tastes, try Hibernator's excellent and much less paranoid sounding summary below:

"Someone starts a movement. It starts small, and there's a lot going on in the world, so the mainstream media gives it minimal coverage. Today's mainstream media is also understaffed, so they don't investigate and they wait for someone else to slap a label on it.

Eventually a sound byte X pops up above the noise and the mainstream media uses this to engage viewers and define the movement. This defining characteristic X spreads like a meme.

People in power now notice what's going on, and think to themselves "Hmm, this new movement is defined by X, and that's almost in line with my goals, so maybe I can use them to further my ends."

But people in power are all labelled as Democrats or Republicans, so now the media applies the polarizing filter of American politics to associate movement X with one of the parties.

The original movement has now been labelled X, and associated with a political party, and none of this happened because of any 'government conspiracy.' It just happened because that's what you get as output when you plug something new into the American political system."
