The Orlando Shootings: Police SWAT Team Involved in the Killings?

Michel Chossudovsky
Global Research

The first reports of shots came at 2.03am involving a confrontation between Mateen and a security guard at the entrance of the nightclub   ”An off-duty cop working as a security guard at the club returned fire, prompting Mateen to retreat further into the hotspot and take hostages, officials said.” (New York Post, June 12, 2016).

According to police statements, there was, however, no “active shooter situation” at 2am in the morning, requiring an immediate police response. Moreover, there was no firm evidence that killings of hostages had taken place.

The Orlando police authorities initiated a process of negotiation with Mateen.

When Mateen said that “there would be an imminent loss of life,” Orlando Police Chief John Mina (image right) was prompted “to end a three-hour standoff and ordered the assault that killed Mr. Mateen and freed dozens of people trapped in the club.” (New York Times, June 13, 2016).

Shortly after 5am, the police using an armored vehicle burst through the wall of the building. “A furious gunfight with 11 SWAT team members followed, during which Mateen was killed and a cop was saved from death when a shot struck his Kevlar helmet”. (New York Post ,June 12, 2016).

The Islamic State (ISIS) allegedly claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement released by its Amaq news agency, saying the onslaught “was carried out by an Islamic State fighter,” (Ibid).

What Really Happened?

The official FBI police report acknowledges shootings at 2am, it does not confirm the occurrence of killings of hostages prior to 5am. The killings started when the Police SWAT Teams stormed the Building at 5.13am. (see Timeline Below)

The Orlando Police Department Timeline summarized in an FBI Tampa Press release not only suggests that no one was killed before 5.13am when the SWAT team broke into the building, it also confirms that the first deadly shots were fired at 5.14am and that the suspect was killed one minute later at 5.15am. This assessment was confirmed by Judge Napolitano in a Fox News report:
“Here’s what is news in the summary – nobody died until 05:13 in the morning, when the SWAT team entered. Prior to that no one had been killed. The 53 that were injured, and the 49 that were murdered all met their fates at the time of, and during, the police entry into the building,”

Something to hide? Fed orders police to deny public records requests on Orlando shootings

Claire Bernish
The Free Thought Project

A letter revealed by the Orlando Sentinel shows the FBI requested law enforcement agencies who responded to and investigated the massacre at Orlando's Pulse nightclub to withhold information from the public.

A letter from the FBI dated June 20 attached to a lawsuit brought by the City of Orlando seeking the release of 911 calls in full, as well as other records pertaining to the shooting, had also been forwarded to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office — but included instructions for law enforcement to deny all requests for information.
Under the guise of protecting the investigation — as well as the victims and their families — the letter asks law enforcement agencies to deny information to anyone asking and "immediately notify the FBI of any requests your agency received" so "the FBI can seek to prevent disclosure through appropriate channels, as necessary."

Under an official FBI seal, the letter signed by special agent in charge of the agency's Tampa field office, Paul Wysopal — who refused to comment to the Sentinel — states, in part:

"As you know, this is an active, on-going investigation being conducted by the FBI. The FBI considers information obtained from state and local enforcement agencies in furtherance of its investigation to be evidence or potential evidence. Accordingly the FBI is concerned that public disclosure of such records or information at this time will adversely affect our ability to effectively investigate the shooting and bring the matter to resolution; could endanger the safety of law enforcement officers, and other individuals who have participated in or are otherwise connected with the investigation; and risks unduly prejudicing any prosecutions that may result from the investigation."

88 people arrested on charges of terrorism since 2014 while Orlando shooter "slips through the net"

Murtaza Hussain, Josh Begley
The Intercept

n the midst of Omar Mateen's shooting rampage in Orlando, law enforcement officials say the 30-year-old Florida resident called 911 and proclaimed his support for the Islamic State. Although FBI officials say they have not identified any direct connection between Mateen and the terrorist group, his case has once again brought calls for a harsh crackdown on individuals who might commit acts of domestic terrorism.

In the United States, 88 people have been arrested on charges of supporting ISIS since 2014, according to statistics compiled by George Washington University's Program on Extremism. Who are they? Most are young, male, and American citizens. But in contrast to the Islamic State's own propaganda, as well as the statements of many political figures, many of the U.S. supporters of ISIS come across as more pathetic than fearsome. While media reports have trumpeted the danger of sleeper cells, most of the people arrested by the FBI appear to have been wayward, isolated young men (and a few women) with little connection to international terrorist groups.

Recent coverage of the Orlando shooting has indicated that Mateen was motivated by homophobia and mental illness as much as any militant ideology; the FBI had investigated Mateen on two occasions and interviewed him but never pressed charges. The FBI's handling of his case, along with its handling of the often-hapless people it does arrest on terrorism charges, shows the complexity and, perhaps, the impossibility of the task — trying to identify and imprison real terrorists before they commit acts of terrorism.

Using court documents, interviews, and Google images of major landmarks from their personal lives, The Intercept has constructed brief portraits of nine recent cases of "ISIS in America."

Read This Before The Government Uses the Orlando Shooting to Start Another War

Claire Bernish
TheAntiMedia.org

Late Thursday evening, the Wall Street Journal reported, 51 State Department officials signed a statement condemning U.S. policy in Syria in which they repeatedly call for “targeted military strikes against the Damascus government and urging regime change as the only way to defeat Islamic State.”

“In other words,” as Zero Hedge summarized, “over 50 top ‘diplomats’ are urging to eliminate [Syrian Pres. Bashar al] Assad in order to ‘defeat ISIS’, the same ISIS which top US ‘diplomats’ had unleashed previously in order to … eliminate Assad.”

This gordian knot created by United States foreign policy — and intensified by that same policy — means not only could war with Syria be on the horizon, but if that happens, the U.S. could be facing a far more serious threat.

While discontented officials used what’s known as the “Dissent Channel” — “an official forum that allows employees to express opposing views,” State Department spokesman John Kirby explained in the WSJ — Saudi government officials employed more direct means to press their interests with the U.S. in Syria.

In a meeting with President Obama on Friday, Saudi foreign minister Adel al Jubair asserted, “Saudi Arabia supports a more aggressive military approach in Syria to get Assad to agree to a political solution,” as CBS’ Mark Knoller tweeted.
Of course, this meeting and the push for increased military force couldn’t be more timely to drum up public support, as a heated national debate has ensued following the deadly attack on an Orlando nightclub purportedly carried out by Omar Mateen — who pledged loyalty to ISIS as he killed 49 people and wounded over 50 others.

Despite the CIA’s report acknowledging it found no tangible connections between Mateen and the so-called Islamic state — also released on Friday — the narrative concerning his ISIS ties saturated mainstream headlines for days, almost certainly cementing the link in the public’s mind.

CIA Chief Drops Bombshell — Admits Orlando Shooter Had NO Direct Connections to ISIS

Jay Syrmopoulos

Washington, D.C. – In extremely revealing testimony, director of the CIA John Brennan told the Senate intelligence committee Thursday that CIA has no evidence of a connection between Omar Mateen and the Islamic State.

Despite alleged claims made by the Orlando shooter during the massacre, as well as a chorus of media pundits and politicos that followed; including President Obama, and presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Central Intelligence Agency head Brennan said the intelligence agency has not been “able to uncover any link” between Orlando killer Omar Mateen and the Islamic State (ISIS).
According to a report in The Guardian:
Reinforcing four days of internal government assessments across multiple agencies and a Federal Bureau of Investigation inquiry, the CIA director, John Brennan, contrasted “lone wolf” killers in Orlando and San Bernardino last December with recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Brussels, which he told the Senate intelligence committee were “directed” by Isis leadership in Syria and Iraq.
In addition to the CIA assessment given to the Senate intelligence committee, the FBI has also come to the conclusion that the killer was not in contact with ISIS before his attack at the Pulse nightclub.

This story could be the smoking gun for false-flag operations

 G. Edward Griffin

Santa Monica; Two police officers who wish to remain anonymous for fear of retaliation say that James Wesley Howell, an Indiana man who was found with a car full of explosives and weapons on Sunday morning, told police he was part of a team that planned shooting attacks on gay communities in Florida and California.

Howell told police he was turning himself in because he wanted protection. His story was that he had been assured by his recruiters that he would not be harmed in the shooting but, when he heard on the news that Omar Mateen, the lead gunman in the Orlando group, had been killed by sniper fire, he realized he was being set up as a patsy and would be killed.

Soon after that, the FBI took over the investigation, and information to the public was filtered to remove any facts that might show the Orlando shooting as a planned event involving others. GetOffTheBS 2016 Jun 15 (Story) (Cached)

It is important to remember that the police officers who are the source of this story choose to remain anonymous, so it cannot be independently verified at this time, but circumstantial evidence supports it. For example:

(1) After the FBI took charge of the investigation, Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks changed her original report that Howell was part of a group of five people who intended to do harm at the gay-pride event in West Hollywood. Her altered report made no mention of anyone other than Howell.

(2) The web site that reported this story is still carrying the article without triggering legal action against it.

That is significant because, if the story is false, immediate legal action would be expected. If it is true, Howell will be killed or ‘disappeared’ to prevent him from talking, but the last thing the perpetrators would want is a public trial where witnesses can be called to testify.

This news story could be one of the most important reports ever published in the annals of journalism.

That’s quite a statement but, when you consider the nature of its content, it is no exaggeration to say that it has the potential to fundamentally change the relationship between the United States government and the American people, and that could lead to a profound change, not only in America, but the entire world.

The story still is still unfolding, and it is likely that officialdom either will pull it off the Internet or do everything possible to discredit it but, unlike most false-flag scenarios, there are many people on the outside of the plot who can verify the accuracy of this one. In fact, there may even be an entire police department to do that. If so, the sheer number of witnesses could outweigh the threats against job security or physical safety. We shall see.

CIA connections with the families of Omar Mateen and the Tsarnayev brothers

voltaire network

Seddique Mir Mateen, father of Omar Mateen (the individual that killed around fifty gays in Orlando in the name of Isis), worked for the US secret services in Afghanistan during the war against the communist government and its ally, the Soviet Union (1979-89). After that, he migrated to the US where Omar was born.

He is a media presenter for the Afghan diaspora. Currently, he is presenting a program, The Durand Jirga Show [1], on Payam-e-Afghan Satellite TV (based in San Francisco). Descendant of the Pashtun tribe, he lent his support to the Taliban (which succeeded the “Mujahideens of Freedom” that the CIA had organized with the Saudi billionaire, Bin Laden to fight against the Russians). After President Hamid Karzai’s departure in September 2014, he refuses to recognize the agreement between Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah and comes out in favour of the president in exile of Afghanistan [2].

His son, Omar Mateen, was employed by the multinational security firm G4S. He had never been singled out as either politically or religiously radicalized. Although married, he used to visit the gay nightclub where he committed his crimes and engaged in sexual relations with at least one other clubber.

The brothers Djokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnayev, who carried out the attacks at the sidelines of the Boston marathon, on 15 April 2013, were the political nephews of Graham E. Fuller, a former CIA senior official who directed operations, notably in Afghanistan.

Ansor Tsarnayev, the father of the two terrorists, is a Chechen who worked with the CIA in the Soviet Union before migrating to the US. In 2012, one of the two terrorists, Tamerlan, had participated in a seminar of the Georgian association Foundation for Caucasia (Кавказский фонд) [3]. This NGO, established by the Jamestown Foundation, which is in turn established by CIA, used to prepare young people to “destabilize Russia”.

The Tsarnayev brothers had never been singled out as politically or religiously radicalized.

The analyst Webster Tarpley says:

“the pattern is by now familiar: former foreign fighters, who have worked for the CIA or the State Department in conflict zones emigrate to the United States to live the “American Dream”. They stay in close contact with the US intelligence community. Their children, often born in the United States, devote themselves to terrorist operations just like among European nobility, the youngest son was destined for a military career.”

Orlando nightclub massacre eyewitnesses: 'More than one shooter, snipers fired at police, someone blocked exits'

Sott.net

Yet another appalling mass murder in the US, the bloodiest yet, has once again focused world media attention on the Indispensable Nation. 50 dead, 53 wounded, and all the work of one ISIS-sympathizing, rabidly homophobic (though closet gay, apparently), Muslim-American, tax-paying, Mecca-visiting (yet non-religious), divorced, 'disturbed', 'gentle', NYPD-loving, America-hating, father-of-one terrorist working a steady job for 9 years with the world's biggest private security firm.

An Everyman for our times then, it would seem.

The story goes that, at 2am on Sunday 12 June 2016, 29-year-old Omar Mateen walked into a dark nightclub packed with 320 people having a good time. Mateen is carrying an AR-15 rifle and 30 magazines of ammunition on his person. In the dark, beneath the flashing and strobing lights, he begins shooting and goes on to reload and empty his AR-15 rifle 30 times, firing nearly 1,000 rounds of .223 ammunition. In the process, he achieves the remarkable feat of killing or injuring one third of the people around him, the majority of his victims being shot multiple times, some as many as 12 times. And he does all this in under 7 minutes. Alone.

That, dear readers, is the 'official story', aka, 'all the news that's fit to print'.

CONFIRMED: FBI Introduced Florida Shooter to "Informants"

Tony Cartalucci
Land Destroyer

It is now confirmed that in addition to two investigations and two interviews, Florida terror suspect Omar Mateen was also approached by "informants" working for the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) over a period of 10 months.

New York Daily News in their article, "FBI spied on Orlando gay club terrorist Omar Mateen for 10 months in 2013: FBI Director James Comey," would admit (emphasis added):
Mateen first appeared on authorities’ radar in 2013 after the security guard’s colleagues alerted the FBI to inflammatory statements he made to colleagues claiming “family connections to Al Qaeda,” according to Comey.

Mateen also told coworkers he had a family member who belonged to Hezbollah, a Shia network that is a bitter enemy of ISIS — the network he pledged allegiance to the night of the carnage, Comey noted.

The FBI’s Miami office opened an inquiry into Mateen.

“He said he hoped that law enforcement would raid his apartment and assault his wife and child so he could martyr himself,” Comey said.

Nevertheless, FBI investigators investigated Mateen, who was born in New York, for 10 months. They introduced him to confidential informants, spied on his communications and followed him. They also interviewed him twice.
Informants Posing as Handlers

The significance of this cannot be understated. "Informants" in this context, according to FBI affidavits regarding similar counterterrorism investigations, refers to individuals posing as members of terrorist organizations who approach suspects, coerce them into planning and preparing for terrorist attacks, before finally aiding the FBI in the suspect's arrest before the attack is finally carried out.

False flag, blow-back, or incompetence? A FOREX look at Orlando Shooting

Global Intel Hub

This tragic event in Orlando is an opportunity to connect the dots in an ever simple global world; as explained in Splitting Pennies - key to understanding Forex markets and how our global financial system includes understanding international politics, and specifically US foreign policy, and how it is connected to the US Dollar as a world reserve currency.  Forex is information brokerage, both as a facilitator and as primary emission of that information.  It is by itself, information - as well, those who play 'the great game' use it to execute their strategem.

This event, is a domestic event with no implications on the markets (although maybe a short term boom for Smith & Wesson (SWHC).  It's not going to affect Forex, directly.  But it will affect foreign policy - not by itself, but as one woven yarn in a policy sweater.  There will be in the days and months ahead, political aggressiveness to 'fight terrorism.'  This event alone, would not be sufficient to go to war with Syria for example, but in the area of domestic support of foreign actions, such events are key to seizing the hearts and minds of the average American, and in this case also the LGBT community - embroiled in domestic disputes of their own.

The fact that the shooter was in contact with the FBI isn't necessarily suspicious.  The FBI is in contact with millions of people all around the world, connected to cases, and their daily operations.  The fact that shooter worked for this G4S, as reported first here on Zero Hedge - is highly suspicious.  Omar Mateen effectively worked for DHS, although through a subcontracted private company.  This is the "Department of Homeland Security" designed to protect us from such 'terrorists.'

Let's examine 3 motives:

False Flag

If you are one of these TV watchers that believe 'it doesn't happen in America' read the following report from PNAC (Project for a New American Century) in full here - note the DATE and note the SIGNERS of this 'research' that says, before 9/11:

Further, the process of transformation,
even if it brings revolutionary change, is
likely to be a long one, absent some
catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a
new Pearl Harbor.
What an interesting coincidence, that a Washington based think tank that worries about a declining budget (because of declining real military threats) and declining power, should within a short year after publishing their report have the justification they need to increase their budgets and power by 10.  Or more recently, look at evidence of Sandy Hook false flag here and here.

So was this event a false flag - to escalate our involvement in Syria, Ukraine, or a number of other global hotspots?  Possible, but not probable.

5 Reasons To Question The Official Story Of The Orlando Shooting

Brandon Turbeville

As more and more evidence emerges regarding the mass shooting in an Orlando gay club that resulted in the death of at least 52 people and many more injured, signs are increasingly pointing toward the possibility of a false flag operation.

Already, a number of points lend credence to those who might suggest that intelligence agencies more so than desert-dwelling terrorist organizations are responsible for organizing and directing the attacks. A number of questionable aspects regarding this shooting include:

1.) The FBI knew about the shooter and investigated him prior to the attack.
2.) The shooter had a connection to a known ISIS recruiter.
3.) The shooter’s father was a former “Afghan presidential candidate” who supported the Taliban.
4.) The FBI’s history in creating terrorism.

Omar Mir Seddique Mateen has now been revealed as the gunman in the Orlando club attack. According to mainstream reports, Mateen carried an AR-15 rifle and a handgun into the Pulse club around 2 a.m. and started shooting, killing 50 people and wounding 53. A stand-off ensued which lasted for about 3 hours before a SWAT team crashed into the building with an armored vehicle and killed Mateen.

Mateen had allegedly pledged allegiance to ISIS before the shooting by calling 911 and stating allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi as well as mentioning the Tsarnaev brothers. Mateen was an American citizen born to Afghan parents from Port St. Lucie, Florida, about a 125 miles away from Orlando, a distance which he allegedly drove to commit the attack.

Eyewitness at Orlando nightclub mass shooting: 'I saw two guys firing constantly'

Margaret Wheeler Johnson

After a fatal mass shooting at Pulse, a gay club, early Sunday morning, eyewitness accounts of the Orlando nightclub shooting have begun to emerge, and they are harrowing. The shooting began around 2 a.m., according to CNN, and resulted in at least 50 fatalities and 50 people wounded. Orlando Police Chief John Mina said police shot and killed the gunman, and the shooting is being treated as an act of terrorism, with the FBI involved.

According to Reuters, a police officer working a security shift at the nightclub opened fire on the shooter, which resulted in a hostage situation. Mina said Sunday that the gunman was carrying an assault rifle, a handgun, and a "device" that authorities haven't yet identified. Shortly after the first police officer exchanged fire with him, police began hearing from people inside the club. At around 5 a.m., officers entered the club and fatally shot the gunman. Reuters reported that it was unclear when he had shot those killed and wounded.

Since the shooting, those who were inside the club at the time have given their accounts of what it was like to be inside during the terrifying events at Pulse. Christopher Hansen, a patron who was inside the club, said afterwards that the gunshots came "just one after another after another. It could have lasted a whole song," according to CNN. USA Today reported that Hansen also described the scene at Pulse on a live video taken by Orlando Sentinel reporter Christal Hayes:

Predictable, but is it true? ISIS reportedly claims responsibility for Orlando shooting

Sott.net via RT

Amaq News, a Syrian news agency with close ties to the Islamic State, says the group is responsible for the attack on an Orlando gay club, which has killed 50 people, and left 53 injured.

"The armed attack that targeted a gay night club in the city of Orlando in the American state of Florida which left over 100 people dead or injured was carried out by an Islamic State fighter," Amaq said.

The shooting, which took place in the early hours of Sunday, was carried out by Omar Mateen, a 29-year-old Muslim US citizen, who was brought up by a family of first-generation Afghan immigrants.

Earlier, Mateen's father, Mir Seddique, claimed the incident had "nothing to do with religion," and speculated that it was caused by his son's dislike of public displays of homosexuality.

But US security sources told various news outlets that Mateen had been investigated in 2013, and 2014, over alleged social media threats, but that no charges had been brought forward, due to lack of evidence.

FBI officials on the scene also said they suspected Mateen of "radical leanings" but did not rule out any explanation for the murder spree at this point.

Comment: Amaq regularly releases Daesh propaganda. Question: who is behind Amaq? Daesh has rich foreign sponsors, some more overt than others. Remember this: ISIS Twitter Accounts Traced to British Government. Amaq also claimed, without evidence, that the San Bernardino attacks were ISIS-inspired. There's nothing to stop them from claiming responsibility for attacks that were not connected to them in any substantial way. Also, it's possible for them to claim attacks carried out with the help of their state sponsors, i.e., intel and security agencies like the CIA and FBI in the States. Consider the updates about Mateen's past involvement with the FBI:

FBI first became aware of Mateen in 2013, when he made derogatory and inflammatory comments to his co-workers, alleging possible terrorist ties, an FBI official told journalists during the briefing. The FBI interviewed him twice in 2013 but was unable to verify the substance of his comments.
...
After the FBI dismissed their 2013 and 2014 interviews with Orlando shooter Omar Mateen as "inconclusive," the Bureau interviewed him again later about his contacts with Moner Mohammad Abusalha, the first US citizen to carry out a suicide bombing in Syria, AFP reported.

"We determined the contact was minimal and did not constitute a substantive relationship or a threat at that time," FBI Special Agent Ronald Hopper told reporters.
...
Omar Mateen was acting alone, an FBI official said during the press briefing, adding that the investigators are not looking for any second suspect.
A more likely scenario: the FBI set him free, knowing he was an easy mark to be manipulated, like so many other FBI dupes and patsies, after which they kept close tabs on him, perhaps even pushing him towards carrying out an attack, which is standard operating procedure for the FBI. Only this time, they didn't jump in as heroes and "save the day". Further reading:

Orlando Killer Worked For Company Transporting Illegal Immigrants Inside US; Was Interviewed By FBI 3 Times

Comment: Shooting at a gay club; a Muslim well known to the FBI; worked for notorious spook security firm G4S and able to purchase firearms only a week before the shooting. The stench is overpowering even at this early stage...

Zero Hedge

In a surprising discovery, the Palm Beach Post first reported that according to state records, Orlando shooter Omar Mateen - who as we reported earlier was licensed as a security guard and also holds a firearms license - was employed by the US subsidiary of G4S plc, a British multinational security services company, whose US-headquarters are located in Jupiter, Fla, and which also happens to be the world's largest security company by revenue.

Shortly thereafter, G4S confirmed that Omar Mateen has worked for the company since 2007. This is the statement released from G4S:

“We are shocked and saddened by the tragic event that occurred at the Orlando nightclub. We can confirm that Omar Mateen had been employed with G4S since September 10, 2007. We are cooperating fully with all law enforcement authorities, including the FBI, as they conduct their investigation. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the friends, families and people affected by this unspeakable tragedy.”
In other words, Mateen who according to preliminary reports, had been on a terrorist watchlist, and who still managed to obtain weapons thanks to his various licenses and permits just last week, was employed by one of the world's largest security companies, where he may have had extensive clearances well above his pay grade, not to mention access to sophisticated military weapons and equipment.
