Suspect in Paris metro stabbings transferred to psychiatric hospital

The suspect in the stabbing of three women on the Paris metro has been moved to a psychiatric hospital after being released from custody, prosecutors announced Saturday. The 25-year-old man is accused of attacking the victims at separate locations along the Line 3 metro track. The victims' injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect in the stabbing of three women in the Paris metro was released from custody and moved to a psychiatric hospital, prosecutors said on Saturday.

The man was arrested suspected of stabbing three women in the Paris metro on Friday as the capital's end-of-year festivities were in full swing.

The three victims were attacked at three different locations along the Line 3 metro track that runs across central Paris. They were injured, but not critically.

Continued police custody was not appropriate for the suspect because it is "considered incompatible with the state of his health", the prosecutors' office said.

Police had used surveillance-camera footage and mobile-tracking tools to locate the 25-year-old suspect in the Val d'Oise region north of Paris.

Transport police had opened an investigation into attempted homicide and assault with a weapon.

The interior ministry said the man was a Malian citizen imprisoned in January 2024 for aggravated theft and sexual assault. He had been required to leave France after being released in July.

The man had been placed in an administrative detention centre but failure to obtain a consular travel document required for his deportation had meant he was released after 90 days, as required by law, the statement said.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez last week called for "maximum vigilance" during the festive season in a message to senior officials due to what he said was a "very high level of the terrorist threat" and "the risk of public disorder".

Nunez specifically asked for particular attention to be paid to security on public transport.

How Miami hawks hijacked Trump's foreign policy

Juan David Rojas | UnHerd

In dealing with Venezuela, the second Trump administration for months oscillated between dealmaking and regime change. More recently, however, an unprecedented military buildup in the Caribbean appears to be aimed at toppling Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro. The regime-change faction, in other words, has got the upper hand. But how? Blame the regime-change capital of the Americas, Miami, and its native son, Marco Rubio.

Early on, there was some hope that the White House would forgo the first term's amateur coup attempts and moralistic posturing against Maduro. Among his first acts in 2025, President Trump dispatched special envoy Richard "Ric" Grenell to broker an America First understanding with the Caracas regime.

Under the deal, Chevron could continue to export Venezuelan crude Stateside through the renewal of a Biden-era oil license. In exchange, Caracas agreed to accept deportation flights of its citizens — a vital priority given the subsequent suspension of Temporary Protected Status for some 350,000 Venezuelans in the US homeland. The administration thus made good on two campaign pledges: boosting fossil fuels and deporting illegal migrants.

Sadly, this understanding underwent a series of erratic twists in the ensuing months, a turn of events caused mostly by Miami's community of Right-wing Latin-American exiles.

Fly to Miami from the American heartland, and you'll find what can appear like a Right-wing foreign country, where Spanish prevails over English; and where denizens of Venezuelan, Nicaraguan, and, especially, Cuban extraction pray at the altar of neoconservative ideology. This, even as they have recreated the clientelist politics of their homelands within the city council.

Drug trafficking, money laundering, as well as state- and nonstate-sponsored regime-change operations across the hemisphere form part of the city's past and present mythology. Influencers like Alexander Otaola grandstand in the form of three-hour, Castro-esque rants on YouTube, offering any and all justification for toppling regimes from Havana to Tehran.

Unsurprisingly, Trump's initial pragmatism on Venezuela didn't play well in Miami.

We don't have control of our borders, admits home secretary

Sky News

The government does not currently have control of Britain's borders, the home secretary will admit today.

Shabana Mahmood is hosting counterparts from the Western Balkans and other European allies in London, and will demand greater international co-operation to tackle small boat crossings.

The summit is designed to ensure nations on the continent strike new deals to tackle illegal migration, following Britain's "one in, one out" agreement with France signed earlier this year.

Calling for a "joined-up" response to the challenge, Ms Mahmood will say "coming together as we are today [...] will make all of our borders and our countries stronger".

In the meantime, however, the government has failed "to bring order to our borders".

"The citizens of each of our countries have a very simple expectation of us," Ms Mahmood will say. "The public rightly expect their government will be able to determine who enters their country, and who must leave.

"Today, in this country, and I know in many if not all of yours, that is not the case. And the failure to bring order to our borders is eroding trust not just in us as political leaders, but in the credibility of the state itself."

The Western Balkans is a major transit route for people smuggling across borders, the Home Office says, with some 22,000 people transported last year.

Many of the asylum seekers who cross the Channel had ended up in France via several other European countries, journeying across the continent after leaving their homes in parts of Africa and the Middle East.

Today's summit of European ministers will include representatives from Albania, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Kosovo, Poland, Serbia, and others.

Ms Mahmood will reject the approach of those she will say "turn inwards" to deal with immigration, as both the Conservatives and Reform tout the prospect of leaving the European Convention on Human Rights.

But Tory shadow home secretary Chris Philp dismissed the tone of Ms Mahmood's comments, pointing to the record numbers of migrants crossing the Channel this year.

The increase, and the use of hotels to accommodate them, drove anti-immigration protests across the UK over the summer months. The government wants to close all such hotels by the next general election.

In addition to trying to tackle people smuggling, ministers have also announced policies to bring down legal immigration, with a requirement to learn English to A-level standard outlined in parliament on Tuesday.

"If you come to this country, you must learn our language and play your part," Ms Mahmood said.

It's expected to come into force after 4 November.

Trust The Plan/Always Chimp: a new kind of 'community relations service'

Whenever there's a horrific interracial attack of the black-on-racist variety, there's a familiar script that we've all gotten so used to that it has become a kind of liturgy. It goes something like this: a multiple felon, frequently let out early on parole, breaks into a pretty young blonde college student's house, rapes her, strangles her to death, mutilates her body, and is found wandering outside with his shirt soaked in her blood, shouting "I just wanted to kill that white bitch!" In the atrocity's aftermath, the girl's bereaved father holds a press conference. Looking dolefully into the camera, he intones, "In this time of loss for our family, please do not use our grief to turn this into a racial issue. This horrible tragedy is an isolated incident, committed by a troubled young man with mental health issues. As Christians we are called upon by God to forgive, and we hope that he gets the help he needs. Don't look back in anger."

This script is so familiar that it has engendered a pervasive background of frustrated despair throughout that subset of the population that has retained some modicum of sane instinct in the face of postmodern antinaturalism. What is wrong with white men? Have they all been castrated? Are they just golden retrievers, with their instincts for self-preservation and familial loyalty completely bred out by a thousand years of living in a high trust society? Have they been MKULTRAed so deeply that they can't see what's happening even when it comes for their own children? It's all over, man, there's no saving these people, they deserve everything that's coming for them, etcetera, etcetera. The responses from the online right to the don't-make-this-about-race liturgy have become as familiar as the liturgy itself, almost a part of the performance.

As it turns out, like everything in the false and homosexual manufactured consensus of the hyperreal television age, none of that is true. The statements of those families are not organic, and they never were.

Title X of the 1964 Civil Rights Act created a secretive government agency that you've never heard of: the Community Relations Service. The explicit goal of the CRS was to further the political aims of the Civil Rights movement. It played an active role in stage-managing demonstrations and riots, and it worked to actively prevent whites from fighting back against those riots, for instance by leaning on the media to downplay the damage to life and property while deflecting attention from the role played by Civil Rights leaders in inciting violence. You can read a summary of the CRS's activities here.

The most repugnant aspect of the CRS's secretive mission has been to intervene in cases of incendiary interracial crime by pressuring the victims and their families to stick to the this-isn't-about-race script. Exactly how they apply pressure isn't known. It's likely that the 'conciliators' of the CRS would start out by speaking in the priestly grammar of concern and compassion: we're just there to help, to advise, tragedies such as those that befell your child are just the kind of thing that racist white supremacists seize upon in order to drive a wedge into Our Community, let us help you navigate the bewildering media environment in this difficult time. Such soft-spoken manipulation works very well on a lot of people, particularly those in a state of emotional shock from the sudden eruption of horror into their peaceful, ordinary lives. Of course it won't work on everyone: some will want blood. Those who don't cooperate might be warned that if they say anything prejudicial to the media, this might be interpreted as jury tampering, possibly leading to the murderer being let off and getting whoever spoke out of turn hauled into court themselves for interfering with judicial proceedings. And we wouldn't want anything like that to happen, would we? Why, you still have two younger children ... think of the consequences for your career if people started calling you racist, how would you support them? ... and if you went to jail for obstructing justice, they might end up in the foster care system ... not to worry, though, there are plenty of available foster families, now that the gay community is allowed to adopt...

That's all speculation, of course. The truth is we have no real idea of what methods conciliators apply to ensure that families follow the script. Not one family has ever said anything about what the conciliators said to them behind closed doors, and the CRS themselves certainly aren't telling. They don't have to. The CRS is specifically exempt from the Freedom of Information Act, records kept by conciliators are destroyed, and conciliators can invoke FBI-style confidentially privileges both in court and in front of Congress. All we really know for sure is that essentially no one has ever gone off script, and that no one has ever so much as talked about the CRA. We can only surmise that families have never said anything because their arms have been twisted into signing NDAs.

Given the secrecy, how do we know any of this? Awareness of the CRS and its activities began to slowly leak into the public consciousness just a couple of years ago. In 2023 William Wheelwright and Raw Egg Nationalist started talking about it, although this seems to have gotten lost in the general noise of the discourse. The CRS surfaced again in June when the Academic Agent Neema Parvini came across a book written by CRS agents Bertram Levine and Grande Lum, America's Peacemakers: The Community Relations Service and Civil Rights, in which they spill the beans by way of bragging. Parvini made a video reporting on the book, which got the attention of Auron MacIntyre, and between the two of them they generated enough publicity to precipitate an online chimpout as everyone discovered that the government had set up a secret X-files of Black Crime.

And now, several months later, the CRS is gone. Defunded. Kaput.

Swiss voters narrowly approve plan for electronic ID cards

Imogen Foulkes | BBC

Swiss voters have narrowly approved a plan to introduce voluntary electronic identity cards.

With all votes counted, 50.4% of those who voted said yes to the proposal, while 49.6% rejected it.

The closeness of the ballot is a surprise. Opinion polls had suggested up to 60% backed digital IDs, which also had the approval of the Swiss government, and both houses of parliament.

It was Switzerland's second vote on digital IDs. An earlier proposal was rejected in 2021, amid concerns the data would be held centrally, and controlled largely by private providers.

Sunday's revised proposal keeps the system in government hands. Data will be stored only on the smartphones of individual users, and digital IDs will be optional.

Citizens can continue to use national identity card if they choose, which has been standard for decades in Switzerland.

To further ease privacy concerns, a particular authority seeking information on a person – such as proof of age or nationality, for example – will only be able to check for those specific details.

It comes after the UK government announced plans earlier this week to introduce its own digital ID - which would be mandatory for employment - as part of efforts to curb the number of illegal migrants living and working in the country.

Comment: It's the other way around. The flood of immigrants - illegal or otherwise - was the means to justify a new digital tyranny. Next stop full integration into a AI-SMART infrastructure from your phone. The only problem is, you won't be able to opt out and your financial, health and political freedom will be gone. All they need is a major crisis (war with Russia; civil war) and they hope everyone will be running to Daddy state to save them. Hello Dr Faustus.

Trump administration says it has located 25,000 missing illegal migrant children so far

Just the News

The Trump administration recently confirmed that approximately 25,000 illegal migrant children have been located so far, out of approximately 300,000 missing children.

Trump border czar Tom Homan last week told reporters that he was called back to service with three main goals: Securing the border, running President Donald Trump's deportation effort, and finding the missing children who were brought into the United States illegally under the Biden administration.

"They've already located just under 25,000," Homan told Fox News. "Some of these children were fine, with parents just hiding because they didn't want to be deported. But many were in sex trafficking. Many we found in forced labor, slavery. I mean forced to work ungodly hours, not going to school. [They were] not getting paid, being abused."
